  • Wow that's a huge fire!!!!

  • So basically the fire is so hot it it strips the hydrogen and oxygen out of the water and burns them separately. Whoever thought water could burn?

  • @xygomorphic44 No. Listen again she explains it perfectly. The water boils and turns into steam, as a result the water expands causing the cooking oil vapour to also expand which then burns and in turn creates the fireball.

  • Well I ran my car on cooking oil.

It worked perfectly for over 8 years.

    now my sis got it.

yes cooking oil is a good fuel and can burn violently

  • @CAESARbonds did you have any videos of this? Car on oil :).

  • @LucaTurilli89

I only have some low res cold start videos of in in my channel.

    like that watch?v=T6f2UkmlS68

    rgds

  • @LucaTurilli89 any diesel will run cooking oil, do a quick youtube search on it. You can treat the oil to make it less viscous (spl?) by adding alcohol to it and by purifying it.

  • @DeathByTheTree2 Mythbusters already did this try and it was interesting to see the car on oil :).

  • title is not funny.. you should change it LucaTurilli89

what if some young person only read the title and didn't watch the video and then finds them self in an oil fire situation.. you could be responsible for someone getting seriously injured

  • @oneenatwo done! Now it is with "Don't" ;)

  • @LucaTurilli89 good job, ty

  • So do i ask it nicely to stop burning my house down? 0_o

  • Why is everyone being so boring and stupid. Have a sense of humour, or don't watch the video.

  • This video's title is just evil... FLAG it.

  • If you put foam on this kind of fire, you should be able to put it out.

  • Lol My friend was cooking and she was heating oil and to see how hot it was she threw a handful of water on it... not cleaver Mikeal Malt... Not clever.

  • it happened to me and i burned the whole building XD

  • She fiiiiineee xD

  • Trowing petrol on it isnt the most dangerious way either, throwing a MK-82 on it is for sure.

  • I like firre

  • LOL retards. Just put a lid over the pan or throw baking soda on it....

  • baking soda is the best

  • this actually sounds more like Britains most promising alternative fuel, that's if it's produced in large enough quantities to make it cheaper than petrol

An article from Aug 26 2004:

"Automobile fuel cells from sunflower oil

Researchers in England have found a promising method for producing hydrogen from sunflower oil, a development that could lead to cleaner and more efficient hydrogen production for powering automobile fuel cells as well as homes, factories and offices."

  • i did that with 3 litre of veg oil and put a tin of hot dogs in brine in the oil, the tin presurises and explodes due to build up of steam this = 25ft fire ball

  • lol

  • i bet that there's been an idiot out there who was out of water, so decided to pee on it...

    wonder what would have happened?

  • just put a lid on the pan and turn the fire off

  • lawl the fire comes out of the holder

  • ive heard that you should throw salt on it..

but i wonder where you would get that much salt from

  • so then wut r u supposed to do to put the fire out

  • throw flower on it

  • Use a fire blanket or keep putting damp (not dripping wet) cloths on it to starve the fire

  • fire extinguisers are engineered for that sort of thing

  • smother the fire.

  • When cooking with oil always keep a lid close by. When there is a fire you put the lid on the pan and the fire is starved of oxygen. The other alternative is to do as nebonit suggested. Use a fire blanket or slightly damp cloth. The last option is to use a dry chemical fire extinguisher.

  • what about back drafts?

  • When using the lid? You put the lid on the pan, remove the pan from the heat and let it cool completely before you remove the lid again.

  • use flour or baking soda

  • Do you know what flour bomb is?

    Apparently no.

"Given a large enough suspension of combustible flour or grain dust in the air, a significant explosion can occur." -wiki.

  • Bakeing soda. Flour is ground wheat, which will burn. Bakeing soda lets things heat up without completey burning, hence its fire=extinguishing properties.

  • AWSOME!

I have to try it :D

  • Comment removed

  • It's called CO2.

  • put a lid over the pab

  • Run a cloth under the tap and lay it over the pan

  • throwing water on it isnt the most dangerous way. throwing petrol on it is. :-)

  • liquid oxygen is worse

  • nitro glicerin

  • No, he is right... Liquid oxygen, because it's the comburant in pure form and also create vapor...

  • how bout a mix(idk if it would mix normally) of nitroglicerin, petrol and rdx?

  • its not a good idea to move the pan, trust me. Just take a dish towl, wet it with tap water, ring it out, and CAREFULLY place it over the pan, and wait.

  • what happens if you submerge it in water, like a pool?

  • amazing fireworks i suppose :P

  • It would make a massive splash, lots of crackling noises, a fireball (smaller than in the example), then it would go out.

  • Then how do we put out the fire?

  • put one of those blankety things on it

  • extinguisher!!

  • cover with the saucepan lid

  • baking soda.

  • your head :p

  • go away, do something else and pretend its not happening

  • what a flame! xD

  • all cooking oils should be treated with respect??? wtf the want us to respect oil now lmao

  • Why does the title recommend putting water on it?

  • Because it is a joke about what you shoudn't do in this situation ;D. Satiristic humor I think it is called or something.

  • @LucaTurilli89 sarcastic humor that is

  • @damien345 yeah satiristic is something other like a movie which has brutal and funny elements combined or something :D.

  • @LucaTurilli89 it's totoaly irrelevant and hardly even funny. it's even dangerous as some people might not watch the video, or don't understand it, and might actually DO throw water on it.

yes, some people ARE that stupid.

  • @zimri19

Exactly. Thinking about his lame title and its potentially seriously harmful effects on people, I think it wouldn't be too farfetched if law enforcement interefered on his assholism.

  • That's why you shouldn't piss on Mexicans when they are on fire.

  • well if i piss on your fat ass im pretty sure you will end the earth in a firey explosion from all of your grese(to lnitontool)

  • then i think it will go out...maybe

  • I wonder what would happen if they sprayed a high pressure fire hose at it.

  • this happened to me one saturday morning. we noticed that we left it on and checked up on it and to our dismay, a flame appeared. we quickly thought of a way to put it out, i suggested testing a water sprayer, i rushed to get it and while i returned i saw a fire ball in my kitchen, my sister had poured water on it. nobody got hurt, thank god. well, except the drapes and the ceiling got all burnt up. we all sure did learn a lesson.

  • even though i didnt get hurt, i will never contemplate it again. DO NOT TRY IT. serious injuries may occur, we were lucky.

  • Trying to put it out with liquid oxygen would be worse :-D

  • like a rocket fuel xD

  • once we had burning oil in a pan and my mom yelled like wtf and threw water over it XD (nobody got hurt except our kitchen ceiling)

  • Our local firemen made a demonstration of exactly this experiment and the oil reacted like in the video, it became a big ball of fire on putting water into it.

  • i wanna bang her

  • @monsterenergyrox8689

The fuck lol so random... but true.

  • Plus it's oil witch dosen't mix with water so by throwing water on it the oil will just spread around..

  • Go take some chemistry classes, the water wont even touch the oil, rather it will vaporize before it touches the oil "helping" the oil vapor to expands faster.

  • Not if you put more water on it than ik can vaporizes, the oil will spread around when it is on a surface since it will float on teh water.

  • The OIL is above the boiling point of water. As the heat transfers from the oil to the water, it goes threw a change of phase (liquid to gas) from the excitation of the liquids, more oil gets tossed up with the steam. google - thermodynamics

  • the title of this video is completely contradictory to it's message (quite obviously).

    you should change it!

  • Dude it is supposed to be a joke... Like to make a huge fire ball simply throw water :D.

  • @LucaTurilli89

Yes, nice way of endangering people's lives who read it, you lame inconsiderate scum.

  • @omardude39 Dude you are a complete dumbass!

  • @omardude39 done! Now it is with "Don't" ;)

  • You are a complete imbecile who has no grip on reality. I refuse to associate myself with you.

  • I do because I saw it happen with my own two eyes!

  • i saw it happen with my own 3 !

  • Well the first apparant thing to do if your cooking oil was on fire (not too great in scale) is to trun off the fire/stove/heat source...

If the scale is too great... you need a fire extinguisher.

  • What i was taught to do is wet a towel, squeeze all of the water out so it's damp and it won't drip, then drop it over the pan like a lid. It will cut off the oxygen to the fire and it will go out, the towel won't catch fire because it's damp.

Fire department told me to do that.

  • you pick the fucking pan up and move it to the side of the stove dipshit

  • @mrkanker1

Who the fuck do you think i'm going to listen to? Some cunt on the internet or the professionals?

  • @adamhully your a fucktard

  • you can dig the ground with a shovel...or simply if your in a hurry just use your hands?

(and yes some people do put a set of sand ready in the kitchen)

  • yeh, thats what i do

i hav a shovel in my kitchen, and the kitchen floor is made of sand

  • just put it off with sand -.-

  • LOL cause everyone has a box of sand set and ready in their kitchens. :P

  • do you have cats?

    8D

  • put a mop on top of it

  • No levi might burn... please think of levi...

  • who has sand in their kitchin

  • Or just put it off with extinguisher

  • Or you could just try baking soda.

  • yeah salt or baking soda but not sugar its actually a little flamable.

  • you pour salt on the fire, or if the fire is just in the pot or the pan, you cover it with a pot or pan top to smother the fire.

  • what would you do if cooking oil was on fire? it doesn't say what you should do

  • Yeah yeah try tipping a container with water on that and see whats happens..

  • vid`s great but your nick your`e missing an O in last name. Luca Tourilli. don`t underestimate the artist!

  • I guess it's in italian that way but in english for sure it is without "o" :) =) i don't i admire him!
