Pretty sure Azathoth, Yog-Sothoth and Shubby-N are peers. I get the feeling that without the prolific one there would be no life, without Yoggy there'd be no causality or distance or stuff and that without the Sultan there'd be unchecked growth. A-Dawg is clearly superior in the text, but it's hard to argue with the omnipresent. The big H has style but he's still small potatos when it comes to the indomitable Outer Gods. Who else feels that Derleth isn't canon?

Cthulhu is the high priest of R'lyeh but that doesn't necessarily mean he holds sway over other Great Old Ones, only the lesser member of his own race (the star-spawn).

Also assuming he is not a priest of unknown deities, he would be a priest of the outer gods (Azathoth, Shub-Niggurath, ect) not the elder gods (Bast, Nodens, ect)

Finally there are plenty of Great Old Ones that don't worship any deities, like Eihort.

Remember the Great Old Ones are very much god-like themselves.

Pretty much, you get a statue again later on in the game but not the same effect, game developers stumbled over this one and aparently decided to opt for an appearence in a sequel which was supposed to be being made as we speak, aparently in the sequel Cthulhu turns up and imparts powers upon you to combat more evil which obviously drives you insane, Great eh?

This is a game. And in a game I'm sure you can tweak the rules a little so that even if the real Cthulhu appears, our protagonist won't simply go 'game over' bonkers looking at him. In Lovecraft's original story, one of the heroes didn't. He even managed to blow Cthulhu apart (though Cthulhu pulled himself together again). Serious. :)

It's a good game, but shit the pc version got a bunch of bugs and technical issues. I kinda understand why the rating only was about 8 average... I mean the part at the jailhouse where you have to push the wardrobe over to get to the safe was so stupid. It kept crashing the game unless i pushed "w" (forward) button real fast just once, then waited 3 seconds and repeated... WTF!?
