Sad reality is our teachers who are actually subsidizing the education of our children through their low salaries. In public schools, the starting grossfor Teacher I in 2007 was P10,980 a month (after P1,000 hike with the 10% across-the-board increase for government workers. Mandatory deductions for income tax and for Government Service Insurance System, Pag-Ibig and PhilHealth premiums result in a net take-home pay of around P8,200 per month -- well below a reasonable wage by any standard.
NCBTS is very known to all teachers in service but most of the teachers don't know the real essence of NCBTS still wondering.
