This is how i feel in most cases when my fav. from the 80's get remakes (seriously, i love anime as much as the next otaku, but the western style is pretty damn good too)

To be fair the 2003 version is not a remake of this. It's an adaption of the original black & white TMNT comics.

This version isn't were the tmnt started and it's quite sad that people think it is.

For every person that legitimately likes this show for it's humour and imagination in wildly reintepreting the characters there'll be 10 douches who blindly trash the 2003 show because it's not the version they grew up with and mistakenly view as the original tmnt.

honestly, i liked this, and the 2003 one. That was one was more actiony, and probably better representation of the comics(sorry haven't read comics, plese don't attack me) and this one was more comical, and great for people new to the series/kids. you are right.

I will always and forever prefer this one over any of the "others". In my opinion, the other shows are shit!!!!! The other shows do not do it like the 80s version. This is a legendary cartoon right here. One of the coolest and greatest cartoon openings ever, if not the best. Donnatello was my fav turtle. I never really liked the 2003 turtles cartoon. The classics are always way better.

I loved the old series when I was young and at first I didn't like the new one, but after buying the first season on DVD I have to say that the new series is really good (Or at least the first season which is the only one I have). It was the same with Transformers Beast Machines, didn't like it, but after buying the DVDs I don't feel negative about the series.
