  • that must've been one fast serve. if you look at his head when the ball is coming, his head is a little behind when it comes to the contact point. must've been roddick serving :)) nice upload!

  • it's funny because I show it to my cousin who said 'no big deal'! lol! he doesn't realise at how much mph it comes and how hard it it to do the same, I can't do this, after 15 years of tennis, guys. this is priceless to see in slomo, really cool. thanks so much

  • powerful grip !! whoaa

  • its a blocking forehand

  • no topspin : (

  • There's some. Probably more than it looks. You simply do not follow-through like a windshield wiper if you don't brush it up a bit.

He hits pretty straight there, but there's much spin on it. Must be a winner.

  • Yeah more like a flat forehand

  • i think his returning a serve here.. i think... his body is not turned enough...

  • We don't see how he started his swing. Federer uses an open stance...He will hardly ever stand sideways. He would on an inside-out situation, but it's not the case here.

Perhaps he does return a serve, but what is certain is that this ball is going fast and low.

  • Federer can have it kick as high as any player except for Nadal, but this is an exception which confirms the rule.

  • thanks

  • thanks

  • I love how he always keeps the eyes on the impact-point -thats amazing.

  • deffinately a service return

  • It is actually kinda hard to analyze this moves in real-time. That just shows the tier his plays are.

  • The short backswing gives it away: it was a block return off a serve most likely

  • this on'e strange, it's a volley or something right?

  • maybe if you weren't so stupid or blind, you'd be able to see that it wasn't when the racket was in contact with the ball.

  • its a forehand drive block return which is also a flat forehand

  • it's not so much a topspin forehand as it is a flat forehand

  • itz a block back from a serve! nub.

  • No, it's a topspin forehand. You can tell by his swing and followthrew.

  • actually i doubt its a topspin. more like one of his block forehands.course topspin is produced but nothing compared to his usual spin

  • isnt that a volley?

  • yea...watch fernando gonzalez and se somebody who's never won a major....and when e almost did he got smoked by tha guy in this vid.....DUR!!!

  • its called a return

  • Hahah.. watch nalbandian to see a return, gonzales has a godd drive, and thats all

  • another person with a retarded iq posts...

  • if ever life get to see him play in real life not on tv you will see that when he swings his racket it is going so fast that topspin cazy when he hits ever ball he hits that ball harder and faster than every one that is on tour that is why he is number 1 in the world

  • thats like a block

  • true, i think it was a return of serve; but I can't remember now.

  • yah I really do'nt see why this is called Topspin drive when its really just a return of serve. How can it even be a drive when his body isn't even propelling forward? And the debate between fed and Agassi. I'd say Agassi juts cause of his CLOSE BASELINE appraoach and his short two hand backhand and short forehand that allowed him to hit so many return winners from being close to the baseline. FAST FAST FAST reflexes of Agassi made him SCARY to serve at...

  • they're both pretty sick. i mean agassi pushed fed to 4 sets at the age of 35. so imagine if he was younger. i actually think a match between federer and agassi in their primes would be better than one between sampras and federer. Agassi was a more complete player than pete and would've been a good match.

  • gd shot but it had no topsin whtsoever on it, it was a flat forehand. notice how the racket only goes up after the actual contact.

  • u people are so annoying,, oooh agassi has a french open! who cares!!! i do not like federewr but he is amazing! absolutly fantastic as a player,, but i just really like nadal,, and fed wil get d french 1 day,, as nadal win win a grandslam on another surface,,,

  • Agassi himself has said that he's never played anyone as talented as Roger (including Sampras) so let it go. Roger tends to overshadow all other players in EVERY area...most of all, foot-work.

  • agassi...

  • agassi has a french open, roger doesnt. dont annoint him queen just yet

  • Don't be so mean. Federer isn't a housecat. Give him more credit than that. :)

  • no m8, he's sayin agassi was the house cat.

  • Federer by 5 miles. Agassi was nothing compared to Federer. Its is like comparing a lion to a house cat.

  • Rios

  • Agassi

  • Agassi

  • Agassi

  • yes to previous post. Best returner ever (don't say agassi)

  • Agassi

  • Excellent service returning motion. It's so simple, yet so effective at neutralizing serves and not letting his opponents get cheap points. Forcing his opponent to play his game and then dominating them is the reason why he's #1 :)
