@ChanseDillavou It is so important to separate ideas from reality. It turns out that communism is (almost) an unapplicable political idea, but the idea is still around and it's important to know what it is and keep it separate from the facism practised in the Soviet Union, China and North Korea.

@Iloerk I agree. All i'm saying is communism isn't very feasible. I don't agree with it because it's reminiscent of the group-think mentality that you saw during Nazi Germany (not calling it communism). When you give someone power who isn't used to it, I see everyone else just falling in and doing as the head of the snake whispers in their ear.

@TheUnchainedMind No, dictators use communism as a lie to cover up for horror, it's like saying Americans are free people. They're not, only their government uses the idea to cover up for the facist police-state direction America is taking more and more every today. Saying Americans are free 1000.000.000 times doesn't make them. Freedom is a reasonably clearly defined idea (although worse defined than communism) and it doesn't apply to American citizens today.

Saying "X is good, it has just been used repeatedly as a cover for evil..." is just too convenient.
That's the same argument religious people make when trying to support religion and shake off the accusation that "faith" has brought about the death of tens of millions of people during the course of history ( which hunt, Inquisition, holy wars, and so on and so forth).
When an idea, however good it may be ideally, is systematically used for evil then it is flawed and should be discarded.

@Base537 Yes, the communist manifesto is such a short book, and whether you agree with it or not, it's remarkable book that had so such an influence on history, not only in communist countries, and is considered one of the cornerstones of modern political literature. Why won't more people read it?! I personally do not waste my time anymore discussing politics or economics with people who haven't read both Marx's Manifesto and Friedman's Capitalism and Freedom, and so shouldn't anyone.

@Houshalter Well in this case IT KINDA DOES! Do you fully understand how influential this small book, the manifesto, was and still is? Before 1920 it had been translated to over 30 languages and communist parties in all countries gave millions of copies away for free throughout the 20th century. Saying this Manifesto doesn't represent the Communist ideology is like saying the Bible doesn't represent Christian ideology.

@Iloerk Even the bible doesn't represent all Sects and variations of Christianity, and reading it would tell you almost nothing about the majority of beliefs and practices of modern day Christians. The definition of communism may be debatable, but there's no reason it should only be restricted to the writings of one or two individuals.

@Houshalter and I hate how fascist dictators have hijacked the communist ideology to make themselves look a bit better and buy easy support.
Marx and Engels prophesised how the capitalist society of the time would eventually be replaced by socialism, and then eventually communism. Communism is a state of society that cannot be forced, that would never work, and they knew it back in 1848.

The fat fuck that made this documentary is arrogant and annoying. Instead of looking at NK objectively, all he did the entire time was belittle them. I ended up just hating Shane Smith rather than NK. No wonder they hate Americans in NK, they have to give tours to douches like Shane.
