  • It was the Army Air Corps until 1947, then it became the United Stated Air Force.... a whole separate entity from the Army....

  • I've always heard it as "Off with one helluva roar." I guess they made it more family friendly.

  • @MerscratianAce It is. I wish they hadn't changed it, that "helluva" gives it a big impact haha

  • yeah I know. I'm in the Air Force.. well i ship out in August for training. Just think its funny.

  • army air force? huh?

  • @Mojave706 The Army Air Corps was the predecessor to the USAF.

  • @DivingEag1e Before it became US Air Force it was US Army Air Forces

  • @CaptBill1947 Your right, but the Army Air Corps is what's in the song.

  • Off we go into the wild blue yonder,

    Climbing high into the sun;

    Here they come zooming to meet our thunder,

    At 'em boys, Give 'er the gun! (Give 'er the gun now!)

    Down we dive, spouting our flame from under,

    Off with one heckuva roar!

    We live in fame or go down in flame. Hey!

    Nothing'll stop the U.S. Air Force!

  • this is the Army Air Corpse song, but you're close
