@KeirstenPaigee Washing your hair every single day is bad. It will dry out because you're stripping it of its essential oils and nutrients and covering it with chemicals. Unless you have pin straight hair, which gets oily incredibly fast due to the oil being able to travel down faster, I suggest you give it that time to restore itself.

@HelloGreeneryMusic your defentitly right but i have a question. my friend has thinish hair (like its not super thin but i guess would be classified as thin) and her hair is curly and gets oily after a 24 hr period so she washes it every day. is that ok

@PastryPanic0506 I guess its okay if her hair becomes that oily that fast, I was just referring to curly hair because the oil takes usually takes a lot longer to travel down. I would suggest that every now and then she give it an extra day or two to let the hair rest.

@GirlzRGaga4Me I'm black too and I can go 3 days without washing my hair and it doesn't get dirty because I have curly hair so it doesn't get greasy--which is what attracts dirt. People with straight hair can get really greasy hair if they don't wash it for like one or two days so their hair gets dirty a lot faster.

you're actually not supposed to wash your hair everyday...

it strips your hair of it's natural oils and ends up getting over-washed and gross.

unless you have like disgusting super-greasy hair, you shouldn't wash it everyday.

@ellenicole6 I know that I have found that out, My hair is super dry from washing it every day when I was in my teens, now i am 28 and only wash it like 2 times a week and I have wavy/curly Hair, sometimes I wounder if I have Black hertige because my Hair is just so naturally corse=) and my sister is a Hair Dresser and she has told me not to wash it every day and we are now doing conditioning treatments to try and help it.

And the salon people know how to work with hair that's washed and clean. They know how to create volume and all that because they go to school for it.

But it is true. Washed hair looks much nicer in styles, but unwashed hair is much easier to style.
