It's gotta be the system itself, when your disc holder does not open and the controller is still trying to find the system it's the system. Also I know you got the stand and all but I don't think that's very smart the have the system like that. Leave it face flat. Becuase of the disc reading module.

If the controller is not syning call Mircosoft or turn of the xbox 360 take out everything and wait 5 mins then plug everything back in ( but dont turn on the xbox 360 yet) then take the battrey pack out of the controller and put in new ones in. Once you did that turn on your xbox 360 and syn your controller..... I hope i helped

well um if u havent fixed ur controller im not sure when this vid is from but theres a button (xboxin vertical position) right above the power button to the left u push thatand the one on top of the wireless controllerat the time time i had to this since i have 2 xbox 360s and want to use diff controller on diffrent xbox a bunch so yeah hope this helped (the button on the controller is on the top part to the left of the pack

try these things

A) push sync on both controller and xbox 360

B)take apart your controller and make sure that nothing is out of place such as wires in contact with otherr things that they shouldnt be.

C) us a plug and play and try syncing it with that cable

if that doesnt work your controller is broken not your 360

if you take apart ur xbox to the hard drive you will be able to fasten the chip that holds the 4 red/green lights. make sure when you fasten it that the chip is inserted as far as possible into the port. this worked with my xbox after fixing the three red lights.

what you have to do is press the button on top of the controller, which is next to the trigger, it has three waves things as the connect button on the console, so you press the console conect button first then the one on the controller

i have a similar problem, i was playing my 360 last night and it was fine, turned it off with the controller, use my controller to turn on the xbox just now and the 4 quadrants just flash, i power on the 360 manually and controller syncs to it immediately, so what could be the problem? Once i had it powered up i turned it off and the controllers turned it on after that, just curious as to the problem
