a lot of ppl hacked this game. So EA shut it down.. yeah there were a lot of problems that I KNOW EA could fix now if they remade it with Sims 2 or even Sims 1 again.

They tried to redo it as "EA-Land", and were met with a lot of back fire. I think they gave up in the end because of the people's extreme fire towards the dev's wanting to change the game from The Sims Online. They should've just left it alone in the first place, as there were many people who loved and played it, and paid that $10 a month for it.
You couldn't kill other people's sims... you could only do so much until they pissed themselves. I never had a problem with it. Just ban them from your prop or put on admit list. I don't think that was a problem.
The only "mods" were clothing UIs. There was no such thing as guns, kid. I played it throughout it's entire life span, and you couldn't hack that into the game either way, because the source code you would have to insert it into is not available to the general public nor will it ever be.

It also got shut down because a mafia of people, kept killing people's Sims, unless they gave them stuff or did stuff for them.

yes they could, there are things called "Mods" and people can download Guns and shoot other sims.
