  • shweet. Surprised you got that 3rd one.

  • shweet.

  • Do you ever lift more than maximal effort or 3 reps? You would see HUGE benefit hitting 3 sets of 10 reps at 315 or rather.. your lower end numbers would increase.

  • @DeusUniversa10

I hear ya bro...not sure I agree though. To start, I do lighter sets every once in awhile 5 to 10 rep sets, but only when I want to give my body a rest from lifting heavy. But with that said, when trying to add strength...you are always better off staying in the ATP-CP (adenosine triphosphate - creatine phosphate) energy system range for explosive power. High reps are just hypertrophy...you won't see a sprinter jogging 400m very often...

  • Where do you get your equipment from?

  • great job randy! that 3rd rep was insane!

  • @j0540212

Ha, ha...thanks Josh. Hopefully more good things to come.

  • damn dude definition of grinder on that last rep with 380

  • @robocop1993

Yeah, it was a good max triple, but stupid for training purposes. Way to close to failure to allow adequate recovery to go heavy again next session. But it was nice to set that new PR.

    Thanks for the comment.

  • Good job, but i thought you were going lighter for a lil. Did you mean going lighter as in 2+ reps or aint you going "light" yet?

  • @PowerlifterTy16

Well you are a persistent little bugger T...I must say.

380 lbs is lighter, isn't it? Ha, ha...

Definitely pushed too hard on that triple with 380 lbs, so NEXT workout will be "lighter."

    Thanks for the comment.

  • @BRETZERR Well I have been commenting nicely on each video of yours. I just didnt get why you didnt reply back to me, I didnt do anything wrong, what i said was in the past. I was just a lil offended with what you said about me. Thats why i blew up, but I get over things.

I just figured that 380 wasnt really "light", so next week expecting maybe 365?

  • @PowerlifterTy16

Nope...I will probably knock it down to 310 lbs for reasonably comfortable sets of 8's. Should be an easy workout and that will refresh my body a bit.

  • @BRETZERR Yea that sounds good. Your CNS is prolly burnt out, good thing you are going lighter for a bit

  • way to push through that second one man. looks like your little spotter was too busy watching tv lol.

  • @dt76028

Ha, ha...yeah, he isn't the most focused training partner...ha, ha...I will have to work on that.

    Thanks for the comment.

  • That was good, Randy! That 380x3 was real strong

  • @IncredibleHulkRobert

    Thanks Robert. Much appreciated.

  • nice work Randy......

  • @rctriplefresh5

Thanks Dave. Much appreciated. More new ground to be made over the next few weeks...

  • kick ass, the song name is WTF Collective 2 by Jon Lajoie for those asking

  • @id0stuff

    Thanks bro - much appreciated.

  • isnt that 315 + 70 +10+ 5= 400?

  • @dgwear69 His 25's just look big, they are not 35's

  • @dgwear69

    I wish...it's actually 315 lbs + 50 + 10 + 5 = 380 lbs. Thanks for the comment though...

  • nice bro ;) keep it up, song name?

  • @fedegroxo

The song is WTF by Jon Lajoie. Thanks for the comment...

  • haha wow that was brutally slow :P

  • @ttorzzz

Slow...and not very smart. I will make the next workout much easier so that I am ready to start going heavy again.

  • Great job my friend! Congrats on big PR!....Come on Randy that 3rd rep was an easy grinder compared to your 10 sec grinders of the past lmao!

  • @HHH396

Ha, ha...yeah, it wasn't that bad, as compared to the past. But still too close to failure for training purposes. I am trying to avoid that. Next workout will be an easy one to recharge the batterries.

  • I've watched a lot of your videos, and in every one them, you have EXCELLENT music - good stuff, man!

  • @ZenFuYoung

    Thanks bro - much appreciated.

  • you get the grinder award on that 3rd rep.

  • @bomdigi1

Ha, ha...yeah, great to get through...not very smart for training purposes. Like I told you, I think you are much better off avoiding that kind of grinding rep. So next workout is going to be very easy...so I recover adequately.

  • @BRETZERR im trying out this joeskopec 5x5 16 week program have you heard of this?

  • damn great effort on the 380. it looked like you were done on that 2nd rep.

  • @michaelzwarszawy

Thanks bro - it was a little too much of a grinder, which is what I have been trying to avoid lately. But every once in awhile it probably isn't a bad thing to grind out a new PR. We will see how the recovery goes for the next workout...

  • Oh hey... If the shoulders are really sore I HIGHLY recommend Mark Bell's Slingshot. Takes all of my shoulder pain away and allows me to train heavy when otherwise I wouldn't be able to. Check it out Bret.

  • @legendofjd3

Not really sore, just still fatigued from the last workout because of the grinder that I did with 460 lbs on the reverse-bands. But they felt fine on the flat bench. It was just inclines where they were aggrivated a bit; that's why I shut that down early. Just need a bit of rest.

I assume the slingshot is pretty much the same as doing reverse bands.

  • Nice motivation. I'll be going for a 385 for 3 in about 2 hours. Way to push me man. :)

  • @legendofjd3

    Anytime...congrat's on killing that triple.

  • you're awesome dude!

  • @TheExalTeDGuy

Ha, ha...thanks. I appreciate the comment.

  • What kind of weight rack is that?

    Song name?

  • @NcHalfrican

Weight rack is a Nautilus and the song is WTF by Jon Lajoie.
