its no color line only rich an poor the recession only effects the poor the rich are still rich celebs still making movies sports players are still getting million dollor contracts and endorsments nothing changed about that but at the same time poor people are loosing jobs gas is shot
In the last 40 years, minorities have gravitated to public service jobs, which tend to be low-paid to VERY-low-paid... but very, very secure. When big layoffs hit, they hit the private sector big-time, and those jobs will be the last to be re-filled, and ~probably~ not with the people who had them before.
The public service workers... still on the job... and steering their kids to similar jobs. Crappy pay, but secure as ever.
I have some of the same sentiments..., although off the subject, THose s ame terminological dumb down atittude can be said about sexuality, just techniques that social society keeps using to spin their lack of real intelligence with what is truely going on.
I think this recession is the opposite of a racial equalizer. As the majority feels threatened economically we see media elements playing to the same old racially motivated fears. As more whites are pushed into poverty, they are competing more directly with minority workers for unskilled jobs. While there might be less disparity on the lower end, I do think racial tension is increasing, for no good reason.
Obama gave this country's wealth to the banks and the Fed. Everyone else is on their own to survive as best they can.

Semantics matters. George Carlin was right about that.

i don't think it's necessarily an equalizer as those inequalities existed LONG before this recession, but i do think it exacerbated them.
