These guys were really drunk. The one in the beanie was being a total doucher and started moshing. He shoved THIS camera man (huge dreaded black guy... big mistake.) He shoved that kid so hard, it was actually funny to watch. One of them tried to get on the stage to dive. I was up front at the Gypsy Tea Room. The first song that was played was "A History Of Drunks" for a sound check. Only several people saw this. Buzz unplugged his Les Paul and walked backstage right when the song ended. Lol
1) I've been to a lot of Melvins shows. I've seen Buzz rip on people before, and it's usually people who are acting like asses. Solution: Don't act like a moron at a Melvins show. I have been to Melvins shows, I have been drunk at Melvins shows. I have been stoned at Melvins shows. I have never been such an annoyance at Melvins shows that the Melvins had to stop the show to tell me to stop being an asshat.
2) Is it me, or did they kick that song into the next level afterwards?
That guy might have been drunk, but so fucking what if he gets up on stage and jumps into the crowd??
I love these dudes who are like punk rockers with a 'fuck you attitude' when they're young, but as soon as they hit like 40, its like, "everybody please act in an orderly fashion, keep your hands where i can see them, and don't make too much noise".. It's a fucking GIG man!!!
Been hanging around fucking pete townshend too much by the looks of it buzzo.
I once saw Buzz heckle a fan like this until an all out brawl broke out. Joe Preston threw his bass on the ground and jumped off the stage in a dress to start wailing on a guy. Bouncers removed the dicks and it was back to business....
@rich107s Sorry you feel that way but the honest truth is that King Buzzo is a "rock god" seeming how he and The Melvins have influenced thousands of rock groups and even created genres of music that no one can re create no matter how much they try. Regarding the scuzzo part that is politically incorrect seeming how he is highly intelligent and created basically all the songs that the Melvins play, Also for the 50 yr old rock thing, since when did age count in music?
@rich107s actually, Buzz is your age... and guess what... he accomplished alot more than you. i guess that's why you're bitter, he's your age and talented and famous and loved... oh, and he doesn't sit on his ass and watch nirvana videos all day like you
The Melvins are the greatest thing that ever happened to music. No band will ever compare. It doesn't matter who is playing bass, or drums. They are still the highly glorious Melvins.
Haha, I was at that show... fucking awesome performance! I didn't think the Melvins could get any better; they had to prove me wrong by throwing Big Business in the mix.
Damn Straight Buzz!!!! F'n losers always cause a great time to go askew. We're all there to have a lasting experience with something we LOVE - Many a show I've been to has some tainted memory of some audience assholes . . .
Fuck yeah, I hate drunken assholes at a concert! Phil Anselmo had to put one in his place at the Ogden in Denver last time Down was around. No better way to make them stop.
Sometimes security won't take care of it if it's not a danger issue, especially if it's a small show. Gypsy Tea Room is small as hell and the kid was drunk. If he's being annoyed to the point of ending the show, he has every right to put him in his place. He didn't ruin the show.
Are you a musician? I'd think not. If you were, you'd understand.
i saw them in north hampton in august 08 and the same thing happened, except buzzo didn't actually sound that pissed, but dale crover looked like he was about to beat the guy to a pulp.
actually, he uses two boss od's. In a metal website interview he says he uses off-the-shelf stuff since things break so much on the road. His road amps are two carver power amps with Sunn preamps, and he stereos out into a 4x12 cab and a 2x15 dietz bass cab. The power amps give him individual tone/volume flexibility for diff. venues. He plays LP Custom (neck broken 5 times by airlines)- very practical
The fan was a buddy of mine. He was so drunk and disrupitve that it pissed everybody off. He was just being a thrashing dick. In fact, he pissed in the car on the way home and tried to start a fight with me. I did not talk to him for months afterward....but he did get Buzz to speak during a concert, which is a rarity.

No, this is not in Texas, it is in a Santa Ana bar in California...the drunk guy was my friend who peed all over the inside of my mom's car after the show.
How was it? I caught them them in October of last year when I still lived in Chicago but regrettably missed that second show. I was really looking forward to howling along with the new shit as the album wasn't out yet the first time they came around.
When have Big Business and King Buzzo started doing stuff together. I know they are kind of connected through other bands and touring and such but I have been out of the U.S. and the loop for some time and what the fuck? Yeah, so I see Big Business and King Buzzo on stage. This is awesome.
Both Jared and Coady of Big Business are now full-time members of the Melvins, and have been for over a year. They feature on the current album, (A) Senile Animal. Big Business continues to exist as a separate entity. Melvins were in need of a bassist (again) and decided to get Jared - but Buzz suggested they get Coady too, as a second drummer. Why did they get a second drummer? "Because we didn't need one. That's exactly why we should do it." - Buzz.
I get to see them at Slims on July 21. Gonna play Eggnog ep and lysol. Big Business is going on tour w/tool, so I don't get to see the double drummer. They're gonna get Trevor Dunn to play bass I think. That's awesome!
My favorite Melvins song ever. They're just getting better and better, and really only matched in raw talent and awesomeness by Clutch. The new album is pure masterpiece.
