  • I love that the video includes Brian as much (or almost as much) as Amanda :)

  • Reminds me of NU107 in the Philippines... the only station that had played the song (I guess)...

  • It's been literally years since I've heard this song. And I still want a coin-operated boy. :(

  • Best drummer ever

  • Perhaps not the BEST drummer in the world, but no question that he's my favorite. Showmanship at its finest!

  • calma ,,,, calma !!!!!!!

  • I love Brian's death glare with Amanda is 'skipping' around 1:35. Just priceless. xD

  • 1:48, someone wants to turn this into a screamo song XDD

  • omg not to sound mean or anything but she sounds like a dude!

  • @fightersanime What kind of dudes have you been talking too?

  • When I turn him on he comes to life hehe Perverted thought

  • Oh yes, very nice.

  • this kinda creeps me out:(

  • jeez, i saw these guys way back in 2005, back in the day, i vaguely remember them nearly being booed off the stage

  • @FreeDivinDR booed? why?

  • @natemorey it was a long time ago. us drunkards in the back by the bar weren't having it. there were like 3 or 4 diehards up front but the rest of us just wanted NIN to play

  • @FreeDivinDR Haha well I guess nobody could blame you for that, gotta be rough singing before them for anyone! but I still like like the drosden dolls, not a die hard or anything but Id be in the middle. id think its definitely worth the listen, maybe not if i was drunk who knows still underage lol.

  • live sounds worse..

  • @Frjunkte it actually sounds good, its just the camera quality

  • Hey! This was back when she used to wear clothes to perform. Love them both though. Awesome

  • Too cool! Love em

  • im scared now... D:

  • That man, he is awesome. Sure, amanda palmer can sing the hell outta the song, but dear gods, that man puts so much ENERGY into it.

  • These two are incredible together. They just work so well as a team - magic! :)

  • WAAAA!!! ME ENCANTA.! QUE EXELENTE ! Q ENVIDIA POR LOS QUE ESTUBIERON HAY!....

  • Kinda reminds me of Phoebe, from friends....

  • WOW.

  • tank top

  • and i'll never be a logo

  • "I can even fuck him in the ass"

    I love the Dresden Dolls

  • 1:55 EPIC FAIL

  • Never Seen a drummer with so much personality either.

  • I love this song. I love her. Ugh! AMAZING!

  • Is this song about a blow-up doll??

  • @hotdrumchick

My vote's with "Dildo" but I guess that would just as well

  • Wow! Fucking cool man!

  • woah, impressive quality video for being available only in 240p. Did really well cutting between both of them while dealing with the crowd. Nice job.

  • she changed : "i could even fuck him in the ass"

  • whether you like her or not, she's an amazing performer! One of the first truely GOOD female artists out there <3

  • i want to know which lyrics she changed! i think i like the different lyrics more >_<

  • she plays the fuck outta that piano :)

  • They're such performers :D

  • i love this song!!! its so awesome

  • i have no words to express how goog they are!!

  • @mastiloko hmm... "good" comes to mind....

  • this song is about a dildo.....if you didn't realize it

  • @TheWireCorpse actually amanda says its about lonliness, but it does have a double meaning.

  • @AcerbicAngryEel lol she says that but the lyrics make it obvious...you can beat around the bush...but in the end its still about a pleasure toy lol, still a good song :)

  • Her low notes make me so happy : )

  • When I saw the bath part in the video I knew those weren't the real lyrics.

  • @zombiesrcuming4u hey i saw you commenting on a voltaire video!

  • Ha, sweet song. There's another on y'tube called Imperfect Reality by a group called Mathildes Destiny that plays on the same idea. Definitely worth looking at if u like this!

  • I want a Dresden Dolls' concert ;\ Dammit.

  • These guys remind me of Split Enz - a New Zealand punk/pop band from the 70s&early 80s

  • The 42 people who disliked this... i wanna slap! This song is amazing!

  • @charlie120asc like you could do better -.-

  • @amanda45454 Hell yes! Alot better!

  • @charlie120asc haha sure, whatever, just keep tellin urself that...

  • questa canzone è fantastica io l'adoro!!!!!!

  • 4:40

  • "i can even fuck him in the ASS" love that part...only in the lives though...not the album...

  • @tuseroni it should have stayed lol

  • I wouldn't want the fuck beside me to wail in to my ear. Not with The Dresden Dolls on stage. Surely, it would be okey if you got caught up in the moment and felt like singin along, but to go as far as to justify your right to do so because you paid for a bloody thicket is so utterly fucking stupid.

  • @IAreNarutard Well put.

  • @IAreNarutard Um, I'm pretty sure she wrote a song telling the audience it's okay to sing along. It's called "Sing" by the Dresden Dolls. Motherfucker, you'll sing someday.

  • @Sammydoodle14 I don't mind singing alongs (: As long as the artist manages to overethrow the awfull offpace singing and wailing! And I didn't say it's not okay to sing along. But only an asshole would overlook the crowd just to stand there and scream because they've got a thicket to justify them. Whether it's the Dresden Dolls or whatever concert you're at, it's still quite stupid. I would have thought that you'd like to go to that concert to see the musicians.

  • @IAreNarutard i see your point about the wailing. I get really annoyed by hecklers. However, You don't just go for the musician, you go for the experience. You go to be swept up in something bigger than yourself. You go for that instant yet short lived community in the audience. While I think the person on stage should hold the majority of the attention, it's not only about the musician. It's about everyone there.

  • @Sammydoodle14 "You go to be swept up in something bigger than yourself. You go for that instant yet short lived community in the audience."

Jesus Christ, are you a teenager or an aging hippie? Listen, if you are a music fan, you go to hear music. If you respect the music, you don't taint it with your horrible yelling. If I buy tickets to a show, I'm paying the artists to perform for me. If I literally can't hear the musicians over you and your loud friends, I have reason to be upset. Simple.

  • @sybo59 This.

  • @sybo59 If you can't hear the band over the crowd, you're going to the wrong concerts! Metal concerts NEVER have that problem ;)

  • There is a reason people make records... go listen to those versions and let the audience enjoy themselves, they paid for their tickets just like everyone else

  • 1:39 hahahaha

  • Amanda's distinctly visceral sexiness makes me want to put my mouth all over her dirty parts.

  • those of you who say that singing along at concerts is annoying or distracting totally miss the point of attending a concert. the crowd and the band feed each other. without that, one or both parties lose interest and you end up with a lame ass show.

anyways, can't say i am a fan of the dresden dolls but i do admire amanda palmer's song writing ability and it is comforting to know that there are still true artists in the world of music

  • I would have loved to have been there singing along:)

  • I always get the impression that if she wasnt in music she'd be strung out on some drug or in a psych ward

  • i love her, but the "and i'll never be alone, go .." part .. just .. ruins the melody & very quickly gets annoying

  • @PlzInsert

it's not the fact of losing melody... it's the fact of it being so out of time they both keep up with each other.... i thought it was looped on the album version, but to see it live and for such a long time was impressive.... granted it was lengthy, but the co-operation from them both was incredibly accurate. i find it's best to say something good alongside a bad thing... (yes i said a bad thing)

  • @PlzInsert i love that part! i think it goes great with the song.

  • have you heard the voltaire parody of this? its so much better, and in a funny accent! :3

  • love it!!!!

  • This is the best dresden dolls song ever

  • love this

  • Has she sang with Voltaire before?

  • @benlewis1993 Yeah, they did the song Stuck With You together. Love that song :D

  • brian is a god

  • sweet

  • I was just telling my mate how much their music reminds me of Kurt Weil, Lotte Lenya and Bertolt Brecht. Then notice that she has Kurt Weil written in big white letters across her electric organ. This style of music was great back then and still is as this reveals. Ta for posting. :o)o:

  • @crockyoshighty

    & Excellent marks for weirdness.

It makes me think of the movie that "Cabaret" could have been !

I'm pleased to have stumbled on this one. The shame is: I can't remember how I got to it.

  • Yes hartmusc it is unquestionably the genre of pre WWII Berlin dark carnival music. If you like this style, then you ought to have a butchers listening to Kurt Weil & Bertolt Brecht. It would of course help if you spoke German. But there have been quite a few successful English versions recorded post war. Though I might warn you that its considerable more deleterious then what Ive heard from Dresden Dolls. Good stuff though. :o) Well cheers for now. :o)o:

  • @crockyoshighty

Thanks mate I'll gp look this up XD

  • she's beautifull

  • genius!!

    they're so in sync it's

    ridiculous~!! :3

    perfect

  • 3:22 the drummer goes crazy!!!!!

  • This song is about loneliness

  • i would love to see them in concert!! they are awesome!

  • @silentbutdeadly003 They are amazing in concert. Truly a one of a kind experience seeing them.

    ~Systa

  • S@IIIKOOOO

  • These cats are the bomb.

  • this is a song about dildos.

  • NO!

  • What's up with 2:02? Sounds like a guy took over there for second or somethin. And her facial expression while she does it. Haha. She still got a decent voice on her, though and she's gorgeous ! Fuck the comment with the whole "her arm is thick" ugh

  • HAHAHAHA. 2:02 CRACKED ME UP. And what the fuck, why would someone think her arm is think? She's so slender D:

  • What's up with 2:02? Sounds like a guy took over or somethin there for a second.

  • xD sounds like my kind of boy...

  • amazing performance of an amazing tune

this tune staysd in my head for days at a time

  • THIS SONG IS SOOO CUTE I LUV IT!

  • cool! :)

  • I love that her voice doesn't change concert to CD.

  • I totally want to see them live their expressions and singing while performing is awsome!

  • BOOOOOOOOO on your comment. Her arm is just fine. She's thin!

  • I could just watch Amanda's facial expressions for the rest of my life and die happy.

  • I am so happy Amanda used the "fuck him in the ass" lyrics. I always dislike it when she says "I can even take him in the bath"

OH! BTW, who the heck is the Other girl person (above) shes a little bit retarded, eh?

  • Brian = really f*ckig cool!!!

  • such a difficult song... really a work of art! Almost like Bohemian Rhapsody...

  • did you really just compare this to bohemian rhapsody? It's a great song but bohemian rhapsody was genius, not to mention that it was written in stream of consciousness and never repeated verses or had a chorus. great song but NO bohemian rhapsody.

  • what i meant is "such a difficult song to sing". I'm not talking about the arrangement of the song. Its like if someone wants to cover this song the vocals will take a lot of time to study this. aiyte...

  • agreed

  • This woman gives me erectile dysfunction.

  • lmao, that durmmer kis hlarous. 10/10 for this song,. love it

  • is that Kathy griffen ?

  • omg that drummer is hilarious

  • TO THOSE WHO LOUDLY SING ALONG AT SHOWS: The talent is on stage, no one payed to hear your incoherent wailing. Shut the fuck up.

  • If the musicians alone aren't enough to keep you entertained, perhaps you should save your money and simultaneously spare the fans. Win/Win!

  • f u mate best band ever herd byeond goth 100/100

  • to right mate!!

  • If You Were There, Wouldn't You Want To Sing Along With Them Too?

  • Perhaps, but I'm also an adult with some self control and understand that the others around me didn't pay to hear my sub-par vocals.

Am I seriously alone on this? As a fan at a show, are you seriously telling me you don't care if you hear the band or just the 8 teeny-boppers next to you? Are you sure you're a fan?

If you can't afford the respect to your fellow fans that you expect for yourself, you are a selfish cunt. If you don't care, you're not a fan. You lose either way; grow up a little

  • @sybo59 did you just call your self "an adult with some self control" and then turn around and call someone who's probably 16 a "selfish cunt"... wow that's ironic

  • ...And today's Epic Win award goes to angel1388.

  • That Was A Little Uncalled For! :(

Selfish Cunt? You Don't Even KNOW Me.

For Your Information, I Love The Dresen Dolls. I Respect Them And Their Music Muchly, But When Someone Is Singing Along To A Song, No Matter How Badly, It Shows That They Enjoy It. That They're Having FUN!

  • Music Gives Us An Escape From Reality. It Is The Only Thing We Have Left In A World Of Chaos, The Only Thing We Can Turn To When Everything Is Going Wrong.

I Don't Want To Start A Fight. I Want To End It.

By All Means, Spam Me, Block Me. I Don't Care.

I'll Be To Busy ENJOYING The Music Instead Of Being An Ever-Dark Cloud That Hangs Over The Comment Pages Of Youtube. Peace. x

  • I agree with you in most of the stuff. I wouldn't enjoy listesting to the guy/girl next to me how he/she sings. I'll definetlly enjoy hearing the band's show. I'm paying for it.

  • Singing along is what its all about... what performer wants an audience that sits there and does nothing like a stunned mullett.... theyll think we dont know who the hell they are... i say let me know that we know their songs hehe :D

  • @sybo59 they paid to have a good time.

  • @Munki6 Have a good time without ruining mine please. You see, I paid as well.

  • @sybo59 so you think that thousands of people will just sit around and do absolutely fuckall when they go to see their favorite band just so sybo59 the almighty can enjoy his show?

I'd suggest you blast their music on your stereo if you really want to hear the band and only the band.

  • @Munki6 I really think I speak for most people when I say that I'd rather hear the band play live than the 14 yr old next to me sing live. And to your point sir, I'd suggest the exact opposite; if you'd like to have a sing along, blast their music and hold a karaoke party.

  • @sybo59 haha your idea for a 'good show' sounds a bit bland quite honestly. If the crowd does not respond, there's no good vibe. People don't pay to stand like a bunch of idiots and just listen to the bands.

  • @Munki6 There are times when the band will turn the mic to the crowd and encourage audience participation, yell then and between songs all you want.

I'm talking about when it is to the point that the band may as well not be there. You sound more like an "event" fan than a music fan.

If you truly like a band and their music, why is it not good enough for you on its own? I know I'm partly to blame by even responding to you, but I feel like this is getting grossly overcomplicated.

  • @sybo59 I concur. Nah. I love my music just as much as my events. I just don't care about what people do when they go to shows so long as they're not directly/intentionally trying to make my time there less enjoyable. They paid just as I have, that's all I'm really saying ha ha.

  • @Munki6 I think we're in agreement then brother, because all I'm referring to are actions directly affecting the enjoyment of others. Good talk.

  • @sybo59 ha ha indeed. What a confusing situation it was a while ago. Glad that's cleared up. Good Talk indeed.

  • @Munki6

Group dynamics, particularly with adolescents, can be extremely disturbing for some people. Particularly when it comes to music. It's a clash between the individual and the collective.

In this case, and most cases, the collective gets their way.

  • @sybo59 though i do agree with most bands .. ever heard her song "sing"?

  • @sybo59 - If the artist doesnt mind i say blow me :D I paid too and I will sing as LOUDLY AS I WANT!!!!!

  • @a1sspiked Some would call neglecting the collective wishes of an entire audience for purely personal joy "selfishness". Not me of course, I say YOU GO GIRL!!!!!!

  • @sybo59 haha that's is hilarious

  • @sybo59 Are you retarded or something? Nothing beats a massive sing along.

  • @rokkenroll Why bother having the pros up there singing in the first place then? If you prefer the feeling of an "event" over the musician's music, join a hippie drum circle for free. When the artist points the mic to the crowd and says "sing along!", go ape shit. The rest of the time I'd ask you to please be courteous.

  • @sybo59 I am a touring musician and i play pretty big shows, when the crowd is loud and singing along it's a great feeling, and i don't play metal.

  • @rokkenroll Who said metal? If you're the artist, I'm paying YOU to perform for ME. If I'm paying money, I'd like the opportunity to actually hear you. Now tell me what instrument you play and in what band. Please don't tell me you're just a recording engineer that works with some cheesy christian band that plays sold out churches at best, while trying to sound like a big shot by calling yourself a touring musician.

  • @sybo59 you mean "paid" right?

  • @MrHicIacet No, I meant "payed". Both are correct, but thanks for stopping by Professor.

  • @sybo59 you fail at trolling, go to some cave if you're such antisocial

  • @Vlakpage Oh is it trolling when everyone agrees with you? Okay, but I'm not really failing then. Thanks friend!

  • @sybo59 most people disagree with you, nice try but didn't work

  • @Vlakpage It would seem my comment has a net surplus of thumbs up over down. So either: you don't understand math, you don't understand what I was saying, or you are just trying to cause controversy. Look up older comments as I've already addressed people like you.

  • @sybo59 most of the comments are against you (of course I don't count your replies) so either you have selective reading or have no sense of logic at all.

  • @Vlakpage I care more about being right than being popular, so I'd rather hear why you disagree with me than whether I'm winning or losing an arbitrary cool-guy contest. That being said - since you care so much - I'd assume the commenters in question also voted me down; so I'm still running on quite a support surplus I'd say (not that this has any bearing on who's correct mind you).

    Your best fiend,

    sybo59

  • @sybo59 lmao awesome

  • @sybo59 Hey, faggot, ever heard crowd participation songs? Shit sounds so fucking awesome.

  • @sybo59 I pretty much agree with you. If you want to sing along, then buy the CD.
