  • because radiohead and other good musician i stopped listening to the radio.

    apparently a i haven`t missed a thing.

  • Oh man this song brings so much nostalgia and just awesome memories, I don't usually get emotional but..........fuck man.

  • I'm in love!

  • He's got such an amazing, emotional, meaningful voice. Very rarely do you come across someone as involved in the song like Thom Yorke with all his acoustic numbers, this one especially! <3

  • I get the alienation and the fake world but he needed about three more verses.....not bad. but a ballad should tell a full story.

  • I just checked my playlist on my ipod and realised more than 70% of them are radiohead music. In fact, i can't even enjoy most of the music out there since they seem so vacuous and void of meaning unlike radiohead songs.

    Radiohead ruined music for me.

  • insane how he breaks into the 3rd verse. his voice with those lurics....awesome shit

  • lyrics

  • A fantastic song!...I think Radiohead's best! The emotion of despair, hopelessness and of ''what could have been''...and yet, in it's own way, so comforting..Beautiful!

  • i feel like crying!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I only realised it was live unill the clapping at the end

  • I think it's amazing how the whole time listening to this version i'm thinking "what record was this on" and then i hear the people clapping realizing it's a live a version.... He is absolutely flawless.....

  • PUTA QUE PARIU ESSA MÚSICA É DO KARALHO!

  • I love this song so much. It speaks to the cords of my being without me knowing exactly what it is saying. I live with a broken man who I love dearly. And it wears us both out. And we both wish that we could be what each other wants all of the time. I think that some of what it is about it the stubbornness of love. Despite being worn out, it is worth it.

  • anybody know the chords?

  • I Love Thom Yorke!!!

  • a girl gets into your head and you can love her so hard without her ever finding out. you fight subtlety with her and she can take root in your brain just like the real thing.

  • the song that made me fall in love.no intro or outro needed..... just a radiohead....pick me up something good.....im a marcher of the soul...i digress n progress in the name of fake plastic music. <3

  • @MusicMystic4 i dont know what you mean by that, just poetry maybe. but its beautiful. il be saying it

  • Fuck those vocals hit me hard.

One day they'll hit me so hard, I wont be able to get up...

  • @iSevios Gravity always wins

  • awesome

  • I just cant get over how good this band are. If I was to be stuck on an island for the rest of my life and I could only pick 10 songs. Nine of them would be from Radiohead.

  • here is one person who actually deserves to be called a "musical genius"! one of the best songs ever written...period.

  • I swear any band that has an amazing song, and has an acoustic version of it. It's always better.

  • @Ingrownsage not really

  • @HuginnG Opinion.... Just like in my Opinion I am a jedi.

  • @Ingrownsage i believe you

  • @HuginnG Thanks <3

  • the ending is just too perfect.

  • passionate is a good word to describe this song. when it comes down to it, this is my favorite radiohead song, I would trade it in for any other

  • Thank you Radiohead.

  • 12 people are fucking deaf, this is a great song

  • There is not music like this anymore,

  • So raw, that it's tangible. So powerful that it haunts me.

It fucking wears me out... and I'm glad.

  • every god damn song that radiohead makes, has such passion in it its unbelievable. rahiohead for ever<3

  • 12 people are plastic

  • Thank You.

  • 12 fake plastic trees watched this video.

  • This is the 19873564th time that I hear the song, and I still cry.

  • Ya its the idiots who only like death metal would hit the dislike button, some people like hearing singers takin a dump on the mic instead of actual singing.

  • @alimatt476 i like death metal

  • @alimatt476

    Dude, don't stereotype.

  • THE trinity:lirycs,music,voice.

if there's an heaven, this is the song they play on repeat.

  • it's like the greatest song i've ever heard :) from far , So realistic , So sad , So romantic at the same time , tell you girl such poetry , she'll know that you're not kidding her , and that you're here to stay

  • @midouberbatov I dont know if you only like this song on its own or whether you are a Radiohead fan. If it is only this song then I recommend "Let Down" by Radiohead. Acoustic or studio version. Its all brilliant.

  • this is poetry

  • This song is almost five minutes long, but when I play this song its like only a minute has passed.

  • ..this song captures that angst of finding out something you held as "real"....Love...Life...Success....even self...and discovering just how fake it is... Its a heartbreaker...in the most beautiful way....and when a song/artist accomplishes and captures that depth of feeling....you should truly call them genius..

  • This kind of just sounds like a stem...

  • I'm not a Radiohead fan, never bought one album, and I appreciate some of their songs, but I gotta say this right here is some amazing stuff.

  • Too Much Truth...I Love this Fucking Song.

  • 10 guys likes a PVC trees

  • Thom Yorke is a genius!!! few people could pull an acoustic version off this well

  • Comment removed

  • FFS not everyone likes the same music. I like this song, but if someone else doesn't, I'm not going to criticise their personal taste.

  • does anyone have the strumming pattern nd the chords??

  • esta cancion es tan preciosa q solo se puede escuchar porlamañana..con un buen churro...kisas te encuentrescon vosmismo..

  • @gossamery Me being a prick has nothing to do with it (but thanks for noticing). 12?

  • i miss the good music like this. the music that actually means something real. the music that makes sense yet can't be described. good music.

  • @mctrikster I can't agree more.

  • @mctrikster It's not gone... Just like always, it's hidden beneath piles of the same old lesser stuff. But just like always, the finding is worth the searching.

  • @mctrikster thing is, music is immortal

  • @mctrikster hell yea well said. disgusts me the crap they call "music" on the radio at the moment. shocking

  • @mctrikster I can describe it: a tragically beautiful lament to futility

  • Just listen to the fuckin' song ... damn.

  • Why the hell is Beibers name in the comments. It's like someone wiped shit all over the comments section. How anyone could associate a talentless turd like that with RadioHead is absolutely beyond me. Love 'em and this song.

  • What is he talking about?

  • I remember playing this song for a high school coffee house in 1996... Has it been that long? wow!~ It wears me out. But this song never does. It's like life is this long journey of trying to keep what is real but somehow it turns fake. Or better life is a dream that we keep having while being awake.

  • @GonzoDr78 Wow, I'm just getting to grips with the lyrics this last hour and trying to figure it out, you said it saliently, nice thanks

  • who the heck would dislike this song

  • this song makes me cry

  • HOW COULD 7 PEOPLE DISLIKE THIS.

  • @DropMooDead 7 people of the "Beaber retard army" was here

  • 7 people are deaf.

  • This

    Is

    Art

  • "What is it about college and cry-baby music?"

  • She looks like the real thing, she taste like the real thing. My fake plastic love....

  • i really like this song. Super calming

  • Once, I found a very beautiful version of Fake Plastic Trees. It was a kinda acoustic, but not exactly. I found on playlist.com but never found it again. (and yes, it was sang by Radiohead). If someone could help me...

  • lov it!

  • I love this version.....Thom Yorke 's.....Bread influences front and circle on this one....

  • 6 people obviously lost to gravity

  • astonishing.. just beautiful

  • my fake plastic love...

  • ahahahaahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaahahahahaahahahahahhaha rubber ahahahahaahahaha rubber ahahahahaha thats a ahahhahaahah thats a condom ahaahahahahahahah

  • Beautiful..

  • I love how Thom is using his grungy 'creep' style voice to sing this song, it really gives it that edge which makes this version of the song the best i have ever heard.

  • divine music

  • Gravity always wins. . .

Top five favorite songs--this is always number one or two.

    Beautiful, sad, defiant.

  • Radiohead play some nice music. It is a pity they are right wing tories.

  • @ladytroner who told you that?

  • @ladytroner so wrong man...

  • @ladytroner Troll..

  • @ladytroner thom yorke is left wing..........i think

  • @ladytroner Just enjoy the music.. Seriosusly..

  • @ladytroner radiohead is very liberal, idiot.

  • @ChetZenor hahaha

  • Semplicemente stupensa....

  • How is it humanly possible to click that dislike button? Will someone please explain that to me!

  • @droubs42 some Miley fans I guess.

  • @droubs42 there is no explanation. They just do it to wind people up. Ignore.

  • @droubs42 Bieber disliked 7 times...

  • @Maironmano justin biebers never even heard of radiohead and your comment sucks not only because everyone is sick of seeing generic comments about justin whats-his-face but also the fact that he could have only disliked it a total of one times. besides hes too busy stacking his money to even read your stupid comment.

  • @drshavargo630 Someone asked something for you ?

  • @droubs42 Its possible because of the retarded Justin Bieber jokes in the comments. You fans destroy your own music.

  • @Ekyvvsaq essa musica não merece ter em seus comentarios ser mencionada justin bibier.fake plastic trees isso é que é musica de verdade radiohead isso é que é banda de verdade. sem duvida.

  • @droubs42 I think the lyrics are telling you why, fake plastic likes and dislikes ;)

  • So that's why people believe in God! If you could be who I wanted; all the time :) Two dream worlds colliding, Love and God. True romance is found in the remnants

  • @droubs42 I don't like Radiohead that much, but you're right, it's hard to dislike this song.

  • @droubs42 A lot of people don't like his voice. This is the number one criticism from my experience. In general those people are closed minded, but some are just into different types of music. To each their own I say.

  • @droubs42 eles são humanos mas não foram humanizados,

quem conhece sociologia sabe do que estou falando

  • @droubs42 hmm.... i can't

  • @droubs42 they must be deaf

  • @droubs42 12 aliens watch this...

  • I can't help but relate.

    :(

  • @FeralArtist

    nice line.

    iLIke.

  • 5 peoples don´t have soul...

  • Clueless. oh i miss Paul Rudd.

  • how do people figure out what the lyrics mean, with out cheating and using the internet? cos id love to figure it out but i feel like idk where to start.

  • @mindingosafado You're missing the point. The lyrics are subjective. They should have a personal meaning for YOU. There is no right answer. To me it's about how we pretend to be someone we're not, because that's who a significant other wants us to be, but sadly, we can't keep it up forever. "If I could be who you wanted, all the time" sums it up. But for some people it's about materialism or marketing etc. However the lyrics make you feel.

  • @redkopite4life True, but I'm looking to figure out what any artist is thinking, what he's saying when he makes something. I always have my own ideas about what it means, and that is separate, from what he was thinking/trying to express, because I like to then take the two and compare them and note the differences in interpretation, meaning, etc.

  • @redkopite4life Forgot to say, the only part I didn't understand was

    "Her green plastic watering can

For her fake Chinese rubber plant

    In the fake plastic earth

That she bought from a rubber man

In a town full of rubber plans

    To get rid of itself"

  • @mindingosafado Trying to work out Thom Yorke's mind is no easy task. He has said that this song is about Canary Wharf (A shopping centre thing in London). But in a later interview he said the song meant something very personal to him. Which are both contrasting. Perhaps it's about both. In which case "green plastic watering can" and "fake Chinese rubber plant" make perfect sense. "Fake plastic Earth" I think is just stating that these false values are global.

  • @redkopite4life Oh and I like to know what he's saying, to better see how he's saying it. I like that alot.

  • @mindingosafado This "rubber man" could indicate the falsity which he presented in order to sell these items, or it could be an indication of his own fake plastic beliefs, feelings and values, like the man in the second verse (assumed to be her partner). 'a town full of rubber plans to get rid of itself'. Well this could only be about how a town industrialises and develops, which will eventually destroy it (global warming).

I could be completely wrong, but that's my take on it.

  • @redkopite4life That's crazy! I wanna get to the point where i write something that means something to me, like that. Right now, I can make stuff up, but it doesn't mean anything.

  • @redkopite4life Wow..... I totally agree. i think we're all fake from time to time.

  • uggh someone lend me a taylor to cover this song. My piece of shit cant touch the quality of that guitar tone

  • Foot drumming here :)

  • pure and utter class, an inspiration for us all, gread mood for the times

  • Old girlfriend... :(

  • I love Radiohead and I love this song.

But the comments on this video made me realize how little I like the fans.

  • @Jacobwittyusername

Maybe off topic but I kinda feel the same way about Thom Yorke... He's great to listen to, but kinda strikes me as a dink.

  • @DashJovis ... Thom is a brainiac (for those who are able to relate that is... ) and sooo darn CUTE!
