At the time they were built, these Carnegie Libraries represented the equivalent of the Internet to their communities. It was a mark of distinction to be able to boast that they had a Carnegie Library. Their impact on the intellectual development of the country is incalculable but unquestionable.

The statue, Winged Victory, a WWI memorial, is by Frank Vittor. The organ is an 1899 Votey, and it is largely complete, for anyone wanting to come restore it.
