  • Jealous of the guy who shot this. Amazing locations

  • what is the music, its so beautiful

  • I HAVE to know...What lens were you on and how far away from the glasses was the camera when you did the rack at 3:34?? I had to go back and watch that shot three times because it was SO nicely executed. Great work!

  • this is the only video on youtube that contains proper f3 footage, made by people who know what theyre doing

  • @ArtyomZakharenko And made by people with some money/a budget. :-)

  • Where was this taken? i mean the mountains? nice one

  • You can do better with the Canon 5 D Mk II and a good Carl Zeiss lens.

  • You're the boy. The truck is Sony. The ballon is the F3, your dream-maker-machine. The world is fantastic, full of beauty an life. Hollywood is waiting you. When you buy and use the F3, you will be famous, you will go around the world and you will have oral sex with a beatiful woman. At the end, you're total power over all the world. What are you waiting for? Buy the F3, NOW!

  • 1:51 omg i love those legs!!

  • 720p is amazing!

  • i think the video is awesome, love the ending, nice work

  • i think the balloon disliked the video

  • Oh god ! what a beautiful world <3

  • great camera..I have the canon 60D both camera are stunning... :D

  • @davisfontanes te hago una pregunta.. ¿para que la ultilizas?

  • muy bueno!

  • Unfortunately, it seems as though unless one is ready to step up to an ARRI Alexa, there just isn't that much of a difference in image quality compared to the super cheap DSLR solution offered by 5Dmk2, 7D, D3s, etc. I think S16mm film beats "modern" F3. For example, would "Black Swan" look as nice if it had been shot on the F3?

  • @famousPhotog Different tools for different uses! All those cameras are great for what they are. The F3 looks way better than the dslrs though if you have the opportunity to view it out of the camera and not on youtube. A lot more resolution and color information for better grading. For some uses, I don't need that extra resolution and color information, so a dslr is fine, but there are many times where I'm really not happy with the softness, moire and aliasing.

  • 1:13 I was like: OPTIMUS PRIME!!

  • at 2:25 there is no helium in the balloon then at 2:50 there is helium in the balloon. CRAZY!!!

  • night time is full cinema!!

  • beautiful footage

  • how the fuck do people afford this stuff?

  • @wonderwall135 It's not for the end consumer, more to film studios and film makers. How do people afford two cars?

  • wowwww! iT LOOKS GREAT! I USE THE FX1 AND MAN WHEN I CAN GET THE MONEY I WILL GET THE F3

  • thanks I just read about it in my latest issue of HDvideo Pro.

  • Nighttime aerials are mind-blowing !

  • almost 25000 € for this pictures, damn !

  • The aerials looked really good! I hear Sony is coming out with a camera that is similar to the F3 but in the $5,000-6000 range any truth to this rumor?

  • @cre8tivity06

It's not a rumor, i think you mean the new Sony nex fs100.

  • @cre8tivity06 sony nex fs100

  • hmmm can pull somewhat similar results for $12000 less on a 5dm2

    nice footage though :)

  • @bakernator08 From the test I've seen this camera is considerably sharper than the 5d. Less rolling shutter problems as well. That said, I've never seen any footage from this camera that has impressed me like the work I've seen from the 5d. I think part of the problem is that these large corporations always pick the most pedestrian filmmakers to test drive their cameras. Don't really see what the camera can do until it gets into the hands of a large base of users.

  • Lovely... $16,000 for like 6 stops of exposure latitude... Even now that it's getting S-log, it's still too expensive...

  • @Cakeman545 Most reports I've seen suggest it gets about 10 stops of latitude, and that is recording on sxs cards. With 4:4:4 s-log should get almost 15 stops. I'm not a fan of the camera, but wondering where you got your numbers?

  • @particlelight Just look at the footage. You can eyeball it. Regardless of what the charts say, it's what you can get in practice that counts. How can anybody look at this footage and say that they see 10 stops??? This has to all come down to some major user error, because I used to have an 8-stops-o'-range XH A1 with which I shot footage that looked to have at least 2, maybe even 3 times the range that I see here. S-Log is a big improvement, but it can't be 15 stops. And it's still video-ish.

  • WHOSE IS THE MUSIC?

  • they have a deal with three primary lenses at $23k which is not bad still looking at the Panny HPX 370 guys although I have been with you for forever and all of my gear is Sony. Convince me before I pull the trigger on the Panasonic

  • unbelievable quality.. and every amateur filmmakers dream!!

  • @alexjit

Quality yes. But unless you're renting, every amateur filmmakers dream at $16,000? Probably not. I might just stick with a Canon 7D due to that price.

  • lovely footage :)

  • amazing camera..

  • @pstylisou re mlk th paleveis??

  • What type of lenses were used for this short?

  • @haffeacosta they must be shot with the 3 PL lenses that Sony promised with this camera's K configuration.

    35mm, 50mm and 85mm fast lenses

  • @mahamza86.: Thanks! I visited LVR @ 38th st in NYC and test drive the camera with a 35mm. Image looks flawless. I am just concerned with the rolling shutter when panning @ 24fps. Any subject movement also causes an unwanted gitter effect.

  • haha, i was switching between this youtube video and quenton tarantino's planet terror movie and for a few seconds i though this was the movie lol, this is a great camera btw

  • Amazing video, and I'm not criticizing, but you should raise the exposure just a bit. Otherwise I really loved the scenes.

  • it looks slightly better than the nikon d7000 for about ten times the price. i wouldn't buy it. if you can't afford a RED, just get the nikon .

  • simplemente expectacular.......

  • really easy to make a video like this hum?

  • So many armchair DP's with no film credits eager to criticize.

  • seriously? u guys can do better than that...

  • torres del paine. heaven

  • Still looks like a quality video.

  • I agree with you totally Allan..... totally!!!

  • Still looks like cheap video! The only alternatives to 35mm film is Alexa and D21!

F3, 7D, Red, Epic and what not, let them come, only advantages they have is a low price, but what do you get for a low price? Bad and cheap looking "quality"! Bad, confusing and time demanding post production options. Non-pratical design, that doesn't work in a professional filmmaking envoirment. Don't be fooled, this camera is great for indies, filmschools and music videos for upcoming bands though!

  • I agree guys.. gimme a 7D - $1400 and a set of new Zeiss CP.2 primes and I can do hoola hoops around this cam.. come down on that price tag sony.. were in a recession.. sheesh!

    check this out

  • Impressive footage. but nothing a Canon 7D can't do. As much as I hate the REd, this camera actually makes me appreciate it a little more, . I got a chance to shoot a number of tests for it when Sony was asking us to evaluate it. It would be great in a different market, but not with that price tag. After shooting on the new Panasonic AF-100, I gotta say I can't figure out what the other $15,000 goes to Sony for.

  • I see Sony cameras still can't handle highlights at all. My EX3 has been a great camera but I swear, the "near white" elements of the image are alway - always - horrible looking. The camera seems to just lose all info in these areas and just put on solid block of color. Was hoping they'd fixed this by now, but from watching this they still haven't figured it out. Especially at this new price-point.

  • @SPORKvideos That's because they sell their "Super Duper, Hyper Expensive $125k Cine-Alta that George Lucas Uses" which does that. The capability is there but they aren't giving it to us for chump change sadly..

  • @SPORKvideos sounds like you need to adjust the image exposure...

  • Love to look of the camera... however... its a $10,000. Sony camera and not a penny more. Where does Sony come off trying to charge $18,900. and throw in 3 basic prime lenses? Making us look seriously at the Panasonic AF-100 for a price tag of $6000. Big difference.

  • the camera footage looks great, but I can see some noise in the blacks and some flickering when the camera pans... Overall great value for money, an Arri Alexa (ev) and Red killer!!!

  • Aerial shots at 3:19 blow my mind!

  • I have a cooler camera than this one. It's the Sony DCR-Hc28. It kicks every camera's ass.

  • Yeah - now I remember - I saw these 5 years ago I think - at same time as looking at those $350 ground glass vibration things for the DOF

I was thinking three or four Canon 60D's with some handles might suit me now

  • What is this RED ONE business?

  • @OghamTheBold Surely you jest?

If not, then look at red's website, red dot com and the section, "shot on red".

  • Hmm, I would prefer to purchase the RED ONE over this camera.

Yes this camera has allot of great features, nothing like what the RED is capable of doing.

This camera is going to cost $16,000.

For an additional 6K your able to purchase the RED.

    Yes thats body only,

Why do I want a camera that can not shoot 60p in 1080p and pay $16,000?

I don't! And I refuse to pay that kind of money for a camera with limitations.

Sony you better bring the price down on this camera.

    Yes $16,000.

  • @islandboystv Hey buddy you gotta realize that your gonna pay 25,000 for the body only, then you have to pay another 19,000 for the lense complete set, then you still gotta by the rails, the viewers and so forth. so for the camera only your paying almost 60,000 dollars. then you will need the computer that can handle that. And plus your gonna have to spend a lot of money on lighting and so forth. so lets just say 70,000 or 19,000 for the Sony PMW-F3

  • @SmileLittleCard

Price was confirmed that its $16,000 for the body only.

And the rest is no problem when most of us own the rest that you mentioned.

  • @islandboystv Red's got some problems that this camera does not have. The rolling shutter, and heating namely?

  • love it !

  • woooooow... definitely a strong contender against the si-2k and red one!

  • For me AF100 isn't already cheap. These new large sensor HD camcorders, have a poor ergonomic chassis, interchangeable lenses = more cost to add.

Ok, their taken are beautiful, but how many of us might ever buy one? How many years?

  • How did the balloon miraculously get helium in it? 2:36 no helium and at 2:47 abracadabra, Balloon has helium... What gives? Just Saying..

  • YES. YES. YES.

  • fudida

  • Such a great camera for low light / night work. Thanks for sharing this reel, you guys are awesome!!!

  • I love the nightshot at 3:20 great work!

  • badass work
