For those who have ever lived a life homeless, as a hobo or simply a restless soul entirely dissastified with the static life of the 'American Dream'...this song is for you nomadic souls with hopes that eventually, someday, we may find our journey's end.
This is what I love about YouTube, I found this song simply because it was a related video, decided to click on it and have been in love with it since my first hearing. The lyrics not only have a message, they have a metrical pattern that never changes (i.e. there's the same munber of sylables for each line of each verse) which really helps, i think. And the music is so simple, which really works in this case. Can't beat a bit of I-vi-IV-V in C major!
@lunaticonthegrass111 said, "there's the same number of syllables for each line of each verse" Actually, I believe that The Alan Parsons Project made a habit of doing this in many of their songs.
Absolutely a piece of fine art..Not only the instrumental performance, but also the lyrics and the melody...Brilliant!! awsome..anyway talking of the film..just a little old fashioned..
@theJaydog Some of their tracks, yeah, especially Knights in White Satin. Strangely, I'm a very recent fan of Alan Parson's project. Don't know why. They worked on Moody Blues albums, right? Alan Parson's guys I mean...I'm always a fan of real excellence in recording techniques, no matter who the artist...
@Kayenne54 I meant, I don't know why I didn't get onto Alan Parsons Project music much earlier! I know why I like it....fantastic recording techniques; clean sound, interesting harmonies etc...lol. Don't like every single song they put out, but most.
I was watching "Tess of the D'urbervilles" movie last night, and somewhere in the middle of the movie, she's talking to a guy, and says something to the effect "that days come at her like numbers"...so I'm thinking this (originally a book) might be an influence on this song and its title...
If you think about it, our planet travels through space, us upon it. We are already time travellers...and the stars will reflect where we are in space relative to other times.
Where's the official video to be found, if there is one?

Your refering to time travel of course?

Or is it a traveller of time and space as Robert Plant refers to in Kasmir?

Beautiful fan video for the classic APP song. Appropriate imagery in the right theme, mood and rhythm.
