  • the reason i became a raider fan in the first place gannon and tim brown. and this is before i got into football

  • WOW! Rich Gannon should have taken Brady's spot in Super Bowl 46. That many dropped passes and he still led them down the field. HAHAHA!

  • Gotta love Gruden's response after the Zach Crokett drop, but hey if he caught it Gannon would've been denied that excellent play.

  • This is the first year I got into football, from 2000 onwards I've been devout ever since, however I don't recall this year too well. this was the last season before Janikowski came out of college... and it's so weird to see a right-footed kicker in the Silver and Black! My experience has basically only been with the left-footed Seabass.

    great comeback!

  • if only gruden would come back to the raiders haha

  • when you watch these, does it almost become like it's happening now? It does for me...and I root and yell even though it happened 12 years ago....

  • Rich Gannon was elusive! Look at that crazy mobility! It doesn't show up on the stat sheet in terms of rushing yards, but it is absolutely beautiful to watch! I wish Carson Palmer was that elusive. I don't even think that Jason Campbell has that kind of mobility. Seriously, that's Michael Vick like, except Gannon wasn't as fast.

  • @paydog23

I agree. If you watch that last TD play, Gannon did soooo many things MAKE that play. One of the finest individual efforts I've ever seen,by a QB who used his legs to set up that pass.. An amazing display.

  • @raiders247online Gannon is prime example of how overrated Al Davis the football man is/was. He never preferred Gannon...not a big enough arm. But Gannon had intangibles off the board. A LEADER, the hardest worker, someone willing to challenge his teammates...they fell in line with him because he made it known that the b/s the Raiders did wouldn't be tolerated. Gruden was an awesome coach, but yeah...we wouldn't have had the success we had w/o Gannon under center.

  • @raiders247online It really was a fine individual effort. Rich Gannon was my favorite Raider when I was a kid and it pains me that I only have vague recollections of his play. Thankfully, your videos supplement my long-gone memories.

The most impressive part about Gannon's athleticism and mobility out of the pocket was his age! The dude was 34 here, and he continued being elusive well into his late thirties. His rushing TD in the 2002 AFC Championship game against the Titans sealed the deal!

  • every video you have those idiots that ask things like, "what year was this" when it says it right in the title.... i.e. the idiot below me....

  • Only a couple of years ago, they were the silver and black-ed out.

  • Real Silver & Black... Go Oak Raiders!!!

  • Wow that Wr corp was horrendous except for Timmy!

  • Maker that Gannon ...lol

  • If Timmy had been quicker it would have been a td. Crockett sucks..and to that guy beneath me that said Gabon would bee our couch....ah..no!!!! I like Gannon butt hue Jackson is our guy

  • Well it took almost a decade but I think the SILVER AND BLACK ARE BACK BABY!!!!!!!

  • when NFL uniforms had sleeves!

  • See! THIS is football! Did you all see how Tim Brown caught that pass in the 5 yard line and didn't give a massive show boat(which he was entitled to)? New players need to take a lesson or two from old NFL.

  • @danny510x me too. Hahaha great drive I can't believe the suspense of this game. Very thrilling. Nice Drive. Haha I can't wait for the new season.

  • What a "who gives a shit is the season over yet?" look on Parcells' face. Another classic Jet meltdown. SMH

  • @NYJYIK Dont forget the two playoff losses to oakland. Seems we played the jets every year.

  • @NYJYIK

Hmmmm. Well, the Jets did go 7 and 2 after this game and almost made the playoffs so...

  • @AllPro777 Of course he didnt quit, but he was devastated after this game.

  • tim brown h.o.f. please

  • RICHY IS A BEAST!!!!!!!

  • when crockett dropped the pass, i yelled fuck like it was a live game

  • Microcosm of that team though...Gannon had to overcome what, four drops on the drive. Plus, if Crockett makes that EASY CATCH, Gannon doesn't injure his shoulder on the ensuing TD pass...which led to his only real bad game of the '99 season against the Dolphins at home the following week. That '99 team...Gruden and Gannon had to impose its will on those Raiders who were still on Al Davis scholarship and it took that epic game at KC for them to really get with it. They took off from there...

  • Rich Gannon was absolutely flawless on that drive. Also, Tim Brown needs to be in the Hall of Fame. That guy was INSANE, even in his old age... So sure handed.... such good running after the catch.

  • We need to get Tim Brown to come back and be our receivers coach.

  • Raiders!!! We got beat by the eventual Superbowl Champ in the playoffs from 2000-2002. Ravens, Pats, and Buccs. Raiders may have been the dynasty instead of the Patriots.

  • 99-2002 great era for the Silver and Black. Gannon is missed!

  • I want this feeling back soo bad!

  • you wanna know the best thing about this? they were home in oakland. i love the loud cheers from the raider nation fans

  • i want gannon back

  • Gannon was a damn good QB for the Raiders. It's too bad that fat fuck Siragusa jumped on him in the AFC Championship & fucked him up for the rest of the game - Raiders could've won that game with Gannon (or at least a capable backup QB, which they didn't have) in there.

  • man i want rich as our coach!!!!

  • good shit

  • To continue my remarks about Gannon, I truly believe that if he had stayed healthy and Gruden remained our coach, the Raiders WOULD have one at least one Super Bowl. Gannon may not have been great before he came to the Raiders but he became GREAT in the Silver and Black and I would put him up there with Elway, Marino, Kelly, Staubach and others. What do all these QBs have in common? They all spent their entire career with one team. Imagine what Gannon could've done!!! Thank you Rich. U R GREAT!

  • As a Raider fan for over 40 years I can truly say Rich Gannon was one of the greatest QBs that has ever worn the Silver and Black. The Snake of course is the All-Time favorite Raider QB and no one can ever doubt the greatness of Jim Plunkett, both of whom are NOT in the Hall Of Fame simply because of the haters. There's even one guy who supposedly claims he's on the committee that votes on who gets in and who doesn't and he sez he will NEVER vote for "The Snake" as long as he's alive. Asshole!!!

  • Since I am here, and you Raider fans have such a great memory. Anybody remember in 2000 when the Raiders were winning 21-3 @ three rivers at halftime and blew the lead....

  • I second bigjbzzl. Eric Turner at 8:10 was sad to see. RIP 29.

  • @nunyabizness32

im not sure if thats the same Eric Turner (rip)

the Eric Turner I remember wore #42 and was physically bigger in size.

    stomach cancer right?

i heard he kept the illness quit until it was too late.

  • @MrAss707 It was the same Eric Turner. He changed his number from 42 to 29.

  • RIP--Eric Turner @ 8:10----I wish you young Raider fans understood that the Raiders didn't just show up on the scene when you where a "8 years old etc..etc.." This is a storied franchise..and it takes time and sometimes pain to get back to the top. Show some freagin balls and weather the storm, and quit hatin' on Al Davis. If it wasn't for his concept of what he felt the Raiders should look/be like you wouldn't know what to do with yourself. Respect the OG-RAIDERS---youngsta's.

  • the raiders were so good 7 years ago

  • 2002 gruden kicked your asses

  • Man it was like the Jets couldn't stop them. They really were a great team.

  • yes indeed the good old days of the raiders, campbell is doing great at quarterback now but the defense sucks and tom cable is not that great of a coach

  • @sidprogrammer your willing to say campbell is good but defense sucks ... ha i think you need to watch the games again ... 6th rated defense .... you must not be a true raider fan

  • @sidprogrammer What say you now Sid? Cable is gone and we just signed Woodson to coach up the secondary. Complete overhaul of the D and retaining Seymour is a huge step to the dominating defense we had back then.

  • The real good old days indeed, I Was also about 8, Rich Gannon fave QB of all time, miss chuckie :/

  • Still nothing better than Kenny Albert calling a Raiders game.

  • @RockRampage74 Actually that was Kevin Harlan calling that game because that game was on CBS. Kenny Albert works for FOX.

  • This is a testament to how great Rich Gannon was. There were THREE dropped passes on this drive, yet Gannon still overcame.

  • Tim Brown is a beast

  • That TD should be "The Catch II"

  • Yes love the old Raiders, God if we just had a really good QB like Rich Gannon was...

  • damn rich gannon was so raw we need another quarterback like him

  • For me Rich Gannon has been one of the best quarterbacks in history.

  • Reminds me of Little Gradkowski with 2min. left.

  • Damn Napolean was a great blocker for his size.

  • back in those days was Bill Callahan like the offensive coordinator or something?

  • Tim Brown! My favorite Raider of ALL time!

  • damn gruden chucky rice brown i guess u dont know what u got til u lost it

  • I remember all these drops, wanted to throw my beer!

  • I want Chucky back!

  • @raidersfan8 same here man.

  • @raidersfan8 We all want Chucky back!!! Maybe it will happen one day.

  • @raidersfan8 chucky betrayed the raider nation and needs a bullet in the head

  • @MrErik650

He did? Al Davis sold him like chattel for cash and draft picks! You should direct your anger towards Count Chocula, not Gruden.

  • @raidersfan8 Me Too, They should have given him whatever he wanted, They should have NEVER left him go to Tampa =(

  • @raidersfan8 fuck that hes a fuckin trader fuck him hugh better

  • Comment removed

  • the first dropped td looked easier than the actual one lol

  • rich gannon is clearly the greatest dolphins player ever

  • Ohhh man sweet memories! I remember this was Halloween weekend and I was eight years old and the game was blacked out so I had to watch w/e cbs game was showing JUST for the Raider highlights. This also reminds me of how much I love Tim Brown...I almost cried when I didn't see his name on the first ballot H.O.F. Still good memories!

  • @KingRaj91 They just didnt put him in just because hes a Raider

  • @KingRaj91 I'm a Huge Raiders fan as well and I remember seeing this game. It was a great comeback. Rich Gannon was the best quarterback the Raiders ever had since Ken Stabler. That game was black out in your area back then? What happened they didn't sell out that game?

  • @KingRaj91 damn i was a 8 to and cant remember much

  • Gannon Great QB still coming through even with those RETARD drop passes.

  • i remember crockett for about two plays..

this dropped pass and when he couldnt get the first down against the pats in the tuck-rule game

  • @youngron707 he did alot of good for the Raiders though....

  • this is when the Raiders had HEART

  • sigh, what has happened?

    Rich Gannon

    Charlie Garner

    Jerry Rice

    Philip Buchanon

    Zach Crockett

the raiders will always be my favorite football team

  • Revise that list. Phillip Buchanon was shit.

"Phillip giveth, and Phillip taketh away."-Tim Brown

  • Man this game brings back memories. Gannon,Chucky,Timmy Brown. Man i miss these days.

  • This video makes me want Grads to start over Campbell. His comparisons to Rich Gannon are there... The way he throws, the ability to avoid sacks and the fire he gave the offense.

I hope he gets healthy and can stay healthy, however with the current o-line I dont see that happening.

  • Typical Raiders though up until that point. If Crockett catches that ball, Gannon doesn't have to make another play...which caused a separated shoulder. The next week, he throws 4 INT's in a tough loss to Miami (only bad game of 1999) and that is the difference between winning the AFC West and being 8-8 that year. It's amazing just how much Gruden was able to change things considering that he didn't get to change the roster all that much. Too many 'scholarship' players

  • Tim Brown had some fucking hands wow I always loved Brown

  • @zartanhatesyou

    yup...

    Touchdown-Tim Brown

  • @zartanhatesyou

    yup...

    Touchdown-Tim Brown

  • @zartanhatesyou

    yup...

    Touchdown-Tim Brown

  • LOVE IT! Gruden come back!!!! You know you love us!!!

  • Tim Brown is one of the best ever, damn that boy!

  • Raiders4Life

  • Yeah I agree!!!!!! We need Gruden back!! Al Davis needs to stop being so PRIDEFUL and admit it was a mistake to trade Gruden to the Bucs!!

  • Raiders4Life!

  • Does anyone on the Raiders staff ever have the team sit down and watch this old footage to show JR and co. How to win ball games.
