Im afraid that you might have got a slightly wrong image of nightingale, It was said by her tutor in germany that he was a very bad nurse, but had an amazing organization skills. She was a very prim and proper lady and set out strict rules for her nurses, no physical contact with any patients and that they should be taught nothing about the causes of illness. But her amazing skills as an organizer did save a lot lives through her cleaning of skitari hospital.
