Two things, first off please don't feed the trolls. Like vermin they tend to return when they receive the nourishment they sought.

If society were to deny care to an ailing prisoner it would be punishment disproportionate to the crime being punished. Here in the US we have Laws and they derive their authority from the Constitution. Part of that Constitution plainly states that prisoners shall not be the target of cruel or unusual punishment.
