I love Fennec foxes. I don't think they are legal here in Canada, but they are cute! Its great to see someone taking care of them in a sanctuary. I'm glad someone out there cares about the animals enought to give them a home and a good life!

stop promoting the sale of exotic pets when they do not make good pets you are only cuasing future pain for these creatures, they should only be wild they do not make good pets, you need to tell people to get a cat if they want a fox as a pet dont go and tell them to get a caresheet again shame on you for telling people to go get an exotic pet that should have been a wild animal
@cateyes221981 Critter Camp is an Exotic pet Sanctuary! That is exactly what we do every day all the time- we have a care sheet on Fennec Foxes as pets on our site & it tells you exactly what it takes to care for them and 99% of people cannot do it- we have prevented so many animals from being bought as pets its not funny- NONE of the animals we have are wild caught every single one we have rescued- thousands!- have all been bred as pets and would never ever live in the wild
@CritterCampMom Lol probably will. It's amazing how intelligent animals can be and are. As for the Fennec you said you needed to wait a year on a Breeder's list to buy one and they're around $1500 right?
@RedTyrant2 yeah that's right- you can visit our fennec fox care page on our site- click the Critter Camp logo - and there are links at the bottom of that page to find breeders
@CritterCampMom Nice. :-) Once things are finalized with me and my girlfriend we'll definitely look them up. I showed her a few of your videos of Zoey and she fell in love with Fennec's lol.
@RedTyrant2 they dont make good pets it is going to shit all over your house and your place will smell like crap with all the piss and fur everywhere and matting plus the fox screams a lot get a damn cat and stop trying to be cool you LOSER
@Garanapakatu they are up during the day and night when they are pets- the more attention they get during the day the better they sleep at night- sor of like cats- they are nocturnal naturally-
@rastderb Actually she is a full grown fennec fox- they only get to be 3-4 pounds, and they are bred as house pets, she is smaller than any cat, and the parrots.
@rastderb no you cant train a tiger to not kill you, or train a fennec to do anything- it is whatever their nature is- fennec eat bugs in the wild not birds- plus the parrots are as big or bigger than the foxes so they arent interested in them at all-
@rastderb Usually a Tiger will remain a feral animal and they are not viable pets. However, like with lions, very few individuals are docile and friendly and will accept a human as their owner and become more like big house cats. On the off-chance that you can get the licence and money needed for such a large, exotic pet, you should be ready to buy several hundred pounds of meat every month and have a large outside area for them to live in. Don't take my word for it, but you shouldn't attempt it
@kaki5likspie Depends on how cold the nights get- they need to stay about 60 degrees- plus they are escape artisits- they can dig out of anything- so that is a concern- you could join the yahoo group fennec foxes and ask some of the owners there. also check to see if they are legal in AZ too
@FaeTilly It is not reccommended to keep a fennec in an outdoor space unless you are in a very warm climate and have it professionally built to ensure that they will not escape or contract parasites, or be captured by predators, etc. They ahve been domesticated many generations here in the US and can live very comfortable indoors, same as a chihuahua, but with much more specialized care.
@luckyalexio Well, they are illegal in many places, altho the fennecs are an exotic pet and not wildlife, you will need to check your state, county and city laws; they cost about $1500 and you will need to get on a breeder's waiting list- it may take a year or two, they are NOT potty trainable, smell a little like skunk, and can be biters- they are still foxes and not a cat or dog-
Nestly: Howdy! I didn't know you had a Youtube, haha. (I recently e-mailed you) So this is Zoey? Cuuute. The parrot cracks me up. I gotta get over there and see her some time this summer.
yes you do ahve to fennecproof- basically the same as puppy or ferret proof- but make sure they never run outside because they dont come when they are called & then they'd be lsot forever :(
There are some fennec fox breeders in Florida, but you need alot of preparation and planning to have one as a pet. They are very unique, and not easy like a cat or dog! They also cost about $1500.

@Garanapakatu we take in rescued exotic pets- this one Zoey came to us after being passed around several owners due to biting.
