  • Moins chic que Diana KROLL !!! . mais quelle voix Dommage !!!!

    Jean From France

  • Amy’s love!!

  • Amy's birdland, wordland and wonderland herself. An angel

  • Love love love it!

  • Great voice!!!

  • Nice Sound!

  • Great performance with a superb band and lovely arrangement. What more could one ask, except that the BBC release it on CD?

'Salty' would have been proud of her.

  • With The Johnny Dankworth big band originally broadcast live from The Stables Milton Keynes U.K. on 29th March 2004

  • Beautiful

  • Nice cover, although tempo is a bit rushed.

  • I didn't discover amy winehouse until after she died. She was so great. Shame she had to join the 27 club

  • I only started discovering Amy's music and now I uderstand why her passing was so tradgic. After all these years a decent artist came along with a jazz soul . She had so much potential and talent. RIP <3

  • Hey. I sang this one too. Good old Amy. May she RIP.

  • it seems to me that this has heavily influenced Amy's October song

  • Wow, the way she throws herself into this -- and then her soft-voiced 'thank you' at the end -- am I imagining it or can you hear the vulnerability ? I makes me so sad.

  • It"s fantastic!! Amy Amy such a talent! You left ana valuable historical thoughts to vocals behind in xxx

  • I wish she were there to sing this song 40 years later.

Whatever, she sang it anyway with glamour!

  • I take voice I have the book it is wordland

  • I take voice i have the book it is worldland.

  • Adele is nice but range is human ...amys Divine!

  • music1831 commented on a post i made regarding the purity of amy winehouse's voice...saying her voice sounded strangled. whilst that is his opinion, I strongly disagree..her voice was melodic, her vocal runs were extraordinary and she sang from a very real place. In this particular piece, she perfectly captures each nuance, simplifies each note, and makes it her own. Amy was a jazz singer first and foremost...she was talented and amazing and always will be in my book....thank you.

  • TO ME, reading some of the negative comments I am reminded by: EVERY BODY HAS AN OPINION . . . why blast someone's admiration of ANYONE . . . . to each his own baby. If you do not care for a singer / actress / enteretainer . . . MOVE ON.

  • her voice was incredible, explains why so many of you are so jealous :) stick to rihanna, and britney spears, instead of looking up "such a horrible voice"

  • Oh so beautiful.

  • Tell me sincerely, does the jazz deserve such bad singer like this?

  • @LEDinardi what do you know about jazz??? you are another moron

  • @LEDinardi In terms of vocal tone, during her later years she was definitely up there with Billie Holiday, Dinah Washington, Sarah Vaughan, Carmen Mcrae etc... and this is coming from a veteran Holiday & Washington fan!

  • Yeah, i feel the pain... in my fucking ears! Her/his voice is horrible

  • @Berto7948 you are a moron go back and listen to the garbage that the "so called talent" produces today....

  • @choclinda Whatever you say bbitch... This is the garbage

  • Ella Fitzgerald sang this song originally, you be the judge.

  • Let's not mess with Adele, but do not compare as well. It is an insult for Amy..There is so HUGE difference, not worth to go into details.

  • Ella Fitzgerald and Johnny Rotten in soul united

  • 天才すぎる

  • Oh Pity very pity!!!! Perla.

  • Quel Diva!

  • @RAMLIA1 Vous avez vu ça ! :))

  • Well done!

  • 1:50 :P you inspired me to wanna be a singer, I love your style, your music, all of you, I admire you so much!! I LOVE YOU♥

  • Amy was such a beautiful person n a wonderful singer. Its sad that I only listen to her music after her death. Some people n this world can b so cruel, I truly wish that I could have help her just because a person uses drugs doesn't make them a bad person!!! I am drug-free in we are all equal in god's eyesight !!!

  • OS BONS SE VÃO

  • RIP, such an amazing talent, so sad to see someone with so much talent gone. </3

  • When and where was that recorded? How can I get this record?... Thanks for your response.

  • @berwickrendezvous look for a youtube to mp3 converter then enter this url and download itlike dat

  • type in layefa's wave summer joy

  • i REALLY miss this woman..... so much more she had to give....... :(

  • lady day,,,

  • Amy is always great, but she shines brightest when she gets back to her jazz roots. Fantastic!

  • Not many modern artists could ever pull this off! Superb!

  • @QTmamma -No modern artist, only Ms. Winehouse could "pull this off" without pulling it off ;)..effortless and full of true feeling..

  • @tamtastik Yep not even adele the whale.

  • @dearestjen Don't mess with Adele. She and Amy were good friends. -__-

  • I believe Billie Holiday's tortured spirit was reborn in Amy. Her phrasing reminds me of Billie and her lifestyle does too. Some spirits just were not meant to be with us for very long, but when they leave, we have their music to listen too.

  • look at the muscles in her arms!!!!

  • I absolutely love the picture at 2:06. So classy, so sexy!! What a beautiful picture, truly... it fit this song perfectly, thank you for showing it.

  • I love how her voice is so deep, rich and belting. Then at the end she let's out a sweet humble little "Thank you".

  • by the way the lyrics are wordland not woodland not to be mean just informing... :)

  • @tennisstar79 It's birdland, not wordland...

  • R.I.P. Amy..

  • It's so very very sad --- that George Shearing died this year. But he left great songs like this!

  • Oh Amy I'm still trying to get over your passing. It is hard though feel bad for your parents I know they still feel the pain... 4-ever AMY<3<3<3

  • @JMCyoungblood I wish, her parents were so much concerned about their daughter, as you felt bad about them.

A father, who admits, he did not cry and a calmness settled over him, when he got the news by phone. A mother, who comments about her daughter's status as 'It's a matter of time only' .

Do you know, who were concerned? You, me, my friends here greenpostdoc, akanawha, ziggyuno1, sexytracy1000, and other millions on YT and throughout the world.

  • @OTBASAR You are so right. It seems that her family gave up on her. If you love someone you don't do that. I always think of that video on here where fan is at door for an autograph. She asks him if he would like to come in and talk. He turns her down. I wish I had gotten that opportunity. She was in need of human contact outside of the drug crowd and those taking advantage of her. She was an ordinary girl with extraordinary talent. It is just so sad. I hope she knows we love her.

  • @akanawha Every time I read your comments, my eyes get wet. I hope you know what Amy means to me and all of us. I'm sure SHE knows as well.

  • @OTBASAR

Amy Winehouse clearly loved her parents very much, and they loved her very much too. Anyone who has every gone into emotional shock will know that strange calmness that descends - it is like a self-protective measure against news too terrible to cope with. Amy's mother's words sound like those of someone filled with deep pride in the wonderfulness of their daughter, and she's right to be, Amy was wonderful. I think she would be very hurt to hear people judging her parents.

  • Wow what a BLAST!!!!!

  • beautiful. this is where she lives... how people do not focus on her talent rather than all the other crap is beyond me. she rules

  • @joethebar1 you took the words out of my mouth!

  • Wow, very similar to October Song. I love this cover.

  • ESTA BUENO EL TEMA PARA ESCUCHARLO EN UN PUB

  • IDOLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

  • EXCELENT

  • What a gorgeous cover

  • So good! I hope they'll put that on CD. Thank you Amy, you are permanently in our heart!

  • Nice ^_^

  • i miss her so much :,(

  • Wow love this cover!! It's amazing like the original.

  • FUCK I never knew she was THIS good to handle this song

  • Amazing! I love you Amy.

  • @swdekalb4 I feel you are saying that so you can pick a fight. This is jazz and she is making this song her own. That is what real jazz artists do. It doesn't matter if YOU don't like how she changes it. You cannot BE a disgrace to a jazz song unless you turn it into a fox trot or a polka. Either way, the song itself won't care.

  • let us not forget that amy winehouse was first and foremost a jazz singer...her voice was so pure, so lyrical so full of emotion we believed every word she ever sang..deeply missed, always remembered...amy winehouse 4eva~ rip

  • @kerrsgurl what's pure about this strangled excuse of a voice?

  • @music1831 see above notation...im sorry you feel that way, but you are most entitled to your opinion...

  • @kerrsgurl

Hear, hear!! Absolutely gorgeous, her singing was here. It's so vibrant, and confident... She owned this song, with a classy swing that moves the heart. Her phrasing is beautiful, and it just makes you want to fall in love with it, she's singing about happiness with respect to love, and we feel it...and want to feel it. She will be missed, truly...

  • Wow.

  • Her voice gives me shivers...why do always the good have to die young?!

  • Tony Bennett just called Amy Winehouse the best singer he ever worked with. Better than Ella better than Billie. Piers Morgan show 10/10/11. Wow, what a compliment!

  • ...is that a nipple i see in 1:50 .... oh wow... anyway i love her cover of this song

  • OMG EXTRANO TANTO A ESTA CHICA :(

  • I only knew Amy as the drugged out weirdo and have only just found this today. Oh wow. I.. what is this I don't even... Does not compute. Sad.

  • Yeah! Groovy! Always will love your music!

  • Wow! I've never heard this by Amy and I thought I had found all of her YouTube videos! Cool! Just fabulous!!! Thanks rijuhanna! =D

  • now tell me one female singer toady that could sing THIS song like Amy Winehouse did. damn this woman was one of a kind!

  • Do I have to order my tickets before I go or will St. Peter be selling them at the door.?

  • So many great female singers about just now (Adele etc) but Amy was in a diffirent league !!! Even a legend like Tony Bennett could see it!!!

  • Nipple completely showing at 1:52

  • @coinfrenzy1 ...totally....

  • yeah... this is nice I can imagine myself sitting at the bar sipping my drink and watching Amy.

  • Where can I find this song to download?

  • Absolutely wonderful! They all talk about Adele, but really it was only Amy!!!

  • The best singer ever..AMY

  • wow, i didnt know about this.... god bless, i knew about her father though, hes rediculous, nice smooth classy guy!

  • Danah and Billie mixed up, but more powerful....that was Amy!

    I love you Amy....Rip

  • OMG! i cant believe she covered this song i had searched it before but nothing ever came up she sang it beautifully. rest in peace Amy.

  • Sing it Amy!!!

  • Her song October Song, which she wrote for her canary that died sounds similar to this--on purpose? Clever.

  • @XCShorty21 Yes, she borrowed from "Lullaby" for the bridge in October song, mentions Sarah Vaughan. Clever and apt. RIP, dear Amy.

  • She is just amazing, love you baby for ever and ever

  • @saraistrokes ♥♥♥

  • Numerous jazz&soul singers unified in a single body..select and listen. Can not and will not come again.

  • @OTBASAR I love jazz, blues, soul, R&B, Bossa and country!

  • @rijuhanna Jazz and Bossa Nova = Heaven

  • @OTBASAR Yes, there will never be anyone like her. Such a tragic loss, she will never be forgotten. I can not even put into words, how phenomenal her and her voice was, she was an immensely unique person, both her character and her musical ability were one of a kind.

Rest in Peace, Amy, you will forever be in our hearts.

  • @SuperSmashbro125

I know what you mean Super, she was a beautiful person, highly unique, sincere, and an individual... this song is so beautiful, and I just happened to come across this, I had no idea she ever sang these, the Boulevard of Broken Dreams is incredible, I hope she recorded it for a record.

  • GRETA VOICE AND GREATS PICTURES!

  • Hey it's cool to like who you like. If there was only one way to do something how boring would that be. Again, I think it's the arrangement.

  • @tallgentleman4u I'm not "blaming " anyone. How could anyone sing quietly on this.

  • @mdugand It's not a matter of singing "quietly," it's about singing better than she does. She is over-rated.

  • @tallgentleman4u OK I get it. you don't like her. Nothing we say will change this version. However, my point about "quietly" refers to the size of the bands playing with the artists you mentioned. Shering, trio or quartet tops. Fitzgerald and Vaughn 5 or 6 pieces Maybe 7. This version is a big band and the singer must compete with a lot of sound. JMHO. Anyway I guess we agree to disagree. Nice talkin to ya.

  • I don't think this is so much blusey as it is BIG. Blame the arranger or band leader. I love this and it's BIGNESS. Ya know she could have done a whole album of great jazz standards and I don't think anyone would have minded at all.

  • buenas imagenes donde las consigo o pasanmelas por favor :)

  • @rodrigo2245816 Tengo tantas..! Miles, asi k dime en concreto cuales quieres, y te las envio con gusto. Saludos

  • Don't care for this. If you go back to the George Shearing original and other versions by Fitzgerald, Vaughn, Torme, Yanofsky, this song is a positive, straight jazz song and most have kept it that way. Amy over-sings it and puts too much of a bluesy sound to it. Her voice became increasingly "bluesy" constantly as her addictions physically changed her voice. It's a matter of taste, but listen to other artists and the composer George Shearing.

  • @aliciamontgomery2011 i like "straight" rendtions and bluesy touches. but this is just good. unbelievable. nitpickin cuz the white girl sings it too bluezy for his tastes. wha!???she swings the shit out of it. it s great. it s good. she holds her own in the company of all those you mentioned.

i never heard her sing jazz before. out of the loop and too late again. RIP a great talent.

  • @markmarktarmann Don't think I'm "nitpickin" when The others I mentioned are enjoyable to listen to , and this is not. Not just too bluesy, but 'over-sung," overly dramatic, out of sync and at odds with the tempo of the backing musicians. The song hard to even recognize at times. She just trails off at the end into softly speaking the final sentences. Her performance does not hold a candle to the others mentioned. I know it is uncool now to not adore Amy since there is a cultish-like following.

  • @sue4uall Don't be dissing on my Amy. If you don't like the way she sings this one, I invite you to listen to her sing Teach Me Tonight on Jools. Would like you to critique that one.

  • @sue4uall she was barely one side or t'other of 20 when this was recorded; cut the girl some slack. I'm a musician and I happen to like the way she bends rhythm. Would she have matured? Who knows? By Back to Black, Amy's hard living cost her the head notes and lung capacity. Maybe it's because I'm older, I much prefer Frank to B2B, and would have been happy to see her make a career of covering the standards, but Amy had other plans. She went her own way, which I do respect.

  • @queenoftheuniverse

I love Frank and have been listening daily since her passing. Think her Tony Bennett duet is a fitting bookend. Maybe she was on her way back to jazz and the standards. Too bad we will never know. Love Amy Winehouse.

  • @queenoftheuniverse Queen, what are head notes? Thanks.

  • no prob, @flupachi The very high notes. You hear them in Frank, frequently toward the end of a song. She hit a few E♭s above the staff in Take the Box and some other tunes.

  • J adore.

  • Fantastic!

  • I think it not a world wonder that she died.

Almost drunken on her concert and i hate her dad, because he actually didn´t support her daughter. He only likes to see her money and i think that is very sad.

But Amy Winehouse you were really great and you could reached more in your very short life.

    R.I.P Amy Winehouse

  • its amazing what cigarettes, whiskey, and cocain will do for your voice,

  • I write it again..Numerous soul singers unified in a single body. It is as if she has lived all through the jazz era since the very beginning and has all that jazz kit in her brain. I don't know what God is for, if he,she or whatever would not save her for us.

  • wow

  • Voz e interpretación única!!!

  • I'll say it again, no one could cover like she did. her phrasing so impeccable. Gosh, I still am not over this. I miss her so much. they broke the mold. Love you always, Amy.

  • Good God this is great!

  • I really wish Amy had sung more classic songs from the Great American Songbook like she did with "Lullaby Of Birdland", "No Greater Love", "Someone To Watch Over Me", "I Should Care", "Round Midnight" and with the upcoming "Body and Soul" duet with legendary Tony Bennett. I would have loved for her to continue singing songs that stemmed from her jazz roots. Maybe if she lived long enough she would have explored that avenue again after her masterpiece album Back To Black. Now we'll never know :(

  • @MusicLoverBrian1 Man I so agree, she also did teach me tonight if it's any consolation.. I really wanted her to sing lover and so many other songs it really sucks that she's gone

  • @MusicLoverBrian1 Jazz bookends - Frank and Body and Soul - I had hoped that she would revist jazz as she was a master.

  • I think Amy had a wonderful personality but, also with the sucesses she only got to enjoy it for a short while. I will always cherish her music she had a wonderful talent I wonder how far the skies the limit they say.....She could of had a great career Love you Amy will Always miss you RIP.......

  • What strikes me in all her covers of the jazz standards is the joy in her voice and playfulness in her stylings. I don't hear sickness or brokenness. I never paid much attention to Ms Winehouse before she died, since all the press was about her troubles and not her talent. There's no question she could have been this generation's Sarah, or Ella, or Dinah W...RIP dear soul.

  • @queenoftheuniverse Damn good observation!!! I felt the same way and will always believe this young lady was put on this earth to sing Jazz and then dabble in R&B/Hip Hop!! Amy Winehouse was a damn good Jazz singer no questions about it. The music she wrote, which was good music just seemed to contribute to she unchecked depression/Bi-polar issues.

  • @marrob357 I heard it suggested that she had borderline personality disorder(BPD), not bipolar. This would make sense, since BPD is marked by extreme fear of abandonment, and I think the breakup with that rat Fielder-Civil and his incarceration did her in. I remember being in a similar place in my early 20s; thank G-d i got thought it and grew a little. Most of us do. Amy's rise and flame-out remind us that no everyone does. (to be continurd...)

  • @marrob357 (part two) Charlie Parker said, If you don't live it, it won't come out of your horn, and I've sometimes thought Amy embodied that, to her peril. Some say her pain made her great, but I think had she found relief, she would have been a different artist, equally and differently great.

  • @queenoftheuniverse ~ yes Queen..and thats wot kills me,the press & John Q Public, just dragged her over the coals 2 much. She was a very sensitive souL,can you imagine wot it was like 2 read/see/look @ some of the stuff the papers put out? No she wasn't innocent. Having said that, she didn't deserve all the hatred & ugly things said about her. I'm glad u listened 2 her music with an "open" ear & heart. Over 5 yrs ago when I first heard Amy, I thought wot a treasure!! I shall miss her. SQ1
