  • I like how nowadays, people have to be told to be careful when they light a candle or use pliers.

  • You look like Tiffany from SNSD :)

  • @ericaleung13 but you broke the container the pan was in will the mac store still except it for return?

  • yes this worked so well i depoted two eyeshadows useing this method! :D

  • awesome! This tutorial worked great! Thanks for this.

  • erica thank u so much for this video ! :)

  • This is so pointless... it's CHEAPER to buy it in the pan container...$3.00 cheaper actually. xD. And you can't return depoted eyeshadows or anything depoted anymore. It needs to be it's ORIGINAL packaging and no damage.

  • @SammyVampire19 maybe where you live. but it's not that way everywhere. i live in a very popular city in CA, and just yesterday i asked about this method to one of our mac girls. i asked if you could depot shadows and b2m them b/c i heard you couldn't anymore. she said most certainly and gave me her name so i could follow up if i needed to. i thnk it just depends where you live.

  • Some MAC stores (like mine) dont have them in pan form but you can return the pots for a free shadow :)

  • awesome video. i just purchased my mac palette today and now i'm ready to start depotting

  • Don't know how you did this, the first step worked and then after that it just ruined my entire shadow and I had to throw it away :( If anyone does this plz be careful)

  • To use the shadows for Back2MAC do the pots have to have the little tin pans in them or will they take just the black plastic?

  • can actually return those damaged pots withing the back to mac campaign?

  • @resagoesireland Yep1 They dont care what the pots look like, as long as you bring all the plastic it's fine i have never had a problem and this is how depot my eyeshadws:)

  • Can this method work with blushes?

  • can you back to mac it like this?

  • Man when the top part pop off i jumped. i got scared xD

  • just wondering, why would you want to depot it? like whats the reason behind it?

  • @macksbeautyx so you can put them into pallets. it saves alot of room

  • thank so much! you're super cute btw :)

  • how much was the MAC eyeshadow? do you know any cheap single eyeshadows at sephora

  • @adisonsinging a single mac eye shadow is 19.50. Sephora eyeshadows are 12

  • @hapibth0pel3ss Where are you that you're paying 19.50 for an eyeshadow? I pay $15 at the counter at Macy's, $11 at at Mac store, and $10 at the Mac outlet store.

  • @shirasong mm prices vary in certain states i guess, But thats how much eyeshadows are at Mac counters and online where i live. I know its a lot to pay for eyeshadow, but at least you get your money's worth cause mac eyeshadow has great quality.

  • Ingenious with the stickers! Never would have thought of it (silently kicking self)! And to just buy cheap pans to replace the ones haha! Thank you!

  • Awesome tip!!!!

  • There's all that hastle for just depottong a mac shadow???

    C'mon m.a.c., better packaging!

  • @xoxofashiondiva coz of the back to mac* not mack haha stupid phones!

  • @xoxofashiondiva coz of the back to mack probably

  • Thank you so much! I finally broke down and bought a palette and I followed your video...worked like a dream! Thanks again!

  • impressive...great vid, great quality, very clear, very well spoken, i don't hav any Mac actually... i wear makeup of course ...i luv ittt, but hav yet to try a mac product, i just heard of this thing called depotting? And Bak To Mac? Sooo it interested me i searched nd u were the first vid to appear w many hits, i just wanted to tell you that i thought this vid was excellent nd to the point....if i ever depot nd Mac it.. i will remeber this great vid thanx girl =)

  • omg that's so cool !

  • I see Domokun! :D

  • lol at 5:12 you seemed all badass :p

  • OR you could just melt the bottom and pop the shadow pan right out...

  • cutting the MAC pot open wont qualify it for the MAC recycling program tho. if you return any 6 MAC plastic or glass containers (including MAC makeup remover wipe package) you can receive one MAC lipstick of your choice.

    just a thought....

  • @klawdia96 That's not true, Go look at Amirixe's video. She's returned her cut open pots many times without any problem.

  • why depot mac eyeshadows if you can buy them in pans??

  • @XxoOlisaOox so you can back to mac them!!

  • @XxoOlisaOox Some people don't like the colors the quads come with so they make their own

  • @cheesychick66 I thoght you could put together your own quads at MAC

  • @XxoOlisaOox Ohh right... yeah idk why they depot them then :/ hmm

  • @XxoOlisaOox

    Er..

I don't know why other people depot them. But I depot mine, because every 6 cases you depot, you can go to the mac store by you, and exchange those cases for a lipstick, lipgloss, or eyeshadow.

  • @PeaceLoveLifex201 but with the money you save from buying 6 pans instead of pots you could buy a lipstick

  • @XxoOlisaOox

Lol. You have a point. Idk it's just fun to depot? Iunno aha.

  • @PeaceLoveLifex201 hahaa xD

  • @XxoOlisaOox Well I get them in this form from friends for my birthday......SO I have to depot them all ( I keep all my MAC in a seperate pallete.)

  • @XxoOlisaOox i'm working for mac. unfortunately we don't do back to mac in our country, so that's not the point for me depotting eyeshadows. maybe you've noticed that most of the limited edition eyeshadows aren't available as refills. also there are tons of shadows that are not standard sized. as i'm working as a freelance makeup artist as well it's not very comfortable and rather annoying to carry around bags and bags of single shadows. maybe that helped answering your question. :)

  • @bugcee yes :)

  • @XxoOlisaOox

Because some special collections dot come in pans... And back2mac is also kinda clever

AND in some countries (like where i live) you cant buy eyeshadows in pans

  • @Lilaciaful ok got it

  • @XxoOlisaOox so u can have them all in 1 place

  • @XxoOlisaOox because u can collect thecontainers..for every 6 u get a free lipstick, lipglass or eye shadow

  • @XxoOlisaOox the limited edition eyeshadows only come out in the pot and not the pan :)

  • @XxoOlisaOox because limited edtion ones are only sold in pot form.

  • @XxoOlisaOox

well when you buy it in the eyeshadows in compact form you can do back to mac but other than that there is no reason.

  • @XxoOlisaOox So you can pay a few extra bucks and when you take the empty container back they give you a free one.

  • @XxoOlisaOox You can't get every color just as a pan.

  • @XxoOlisaOox Not all colors come in pans, and not all Mac stores carry the refills, so a lot of people don't know about it and already have a collection of Mac in plastic containers. She actually mentions all this toward the end of the video. :)

  • @XxoOlisaOox my mac store doesnt have them in pans so we just buy singles, depot them and when you have 6 empty packages return them for a free lipstick :)

  • Thank you so much!! :)

  • china.

  • where do you get the pallet?????

  • how much does that alochol

thing cost cuz i want 2 do it without a flame

  • @lydia13031996 go to wal-mart

  • I like UR make up

  • I hope you don't find this offensive but you remind me of my puppy ;x.

  • Get ur Q Tip nice and juicy ;) ♥

  • If you're gonna use an open flame, I don't suggest putting the plastic thing that was stuck with the pan back in the pot since you used alcohol in it. You can just carefully take out the sticker... That's what PrettyTips did.

  • u can just take of the sticker with ur hands i saw a video by PrettyTips on youtube showing how to depot mac eyeshadows and still be able to go back to mac,

  • If you cut the plastic part of the eye shadow container, it does not qualify for "Back to MAC."

  • @dreamer0082 there's a person on youtube called PrettyTips she has a video on who to depot mac eyshadows and still go back to mac.

  • um... wouldn't this be with heat?

  • @XDLYS no w/heat means that they will take the pan out if the contaner and set it on a flat iron or candle to remove the eyeshadow pan, she didnt use the flat iron method the used the alcohol 2 "melt" the glue at the bottom of the pan

  • I didnt know that elf had those empty palettes for $1.00. Mac sells then for way more than that and it does not come with a mirror. Thanks, I'm placing my order now.

  • Nice vid. You have a very relaxing voice too. :)

  • Thanks for the pointers on depotting! :)

  • ever heard of "Goo Gone"? bad smell, but it dissolves anything sticky or goey

  • i don't want to offend you but..ur very OCD about ur skin! w/ alcohol?????????

  • I always thought they should make the pot it comes in magnetic as well, so you can have the option of popping it out into your palette or popping it back into the pot. I think MUFE does this. Seems much easier to me.

  • You'd think if they're going to sell the palettes to put the depotted eyeshadows, and stuff in, they'd make it easier to get them out!

  • If your gonna do that remove the label with the flame first so then you have less chance of setting your table alight

  • alcohol wouldn't hurt your eyeshadow, its not a big deal if it gets in there. people use it all the time to fix broken eyeshadows... but I do agree that the flame was a bad idea....

  • LOL why bother all this hussle? just by it in pan form, more eco-friendly :DDD

  • @xoxofashiondiva Limited edition shadows aren't available in pan form. >_>

  • @xoxofashiondiva Some people may have recieved them as a gift or maybe they bought one beore they thought they would wantmore of the priducts eyeshadow

  • @xoxofashiondiva some don't sell it in pan. mine doesn't so i have to buy it this way but if i give them six pots i get a free lipstick.

  • @xoxofashiondiva they are more expensive than if you buy it in the packaging

  • @xoxofashiondiva that would be the logical thing to do right? well you would think anyway! haha

  • @xoxofashiondiva and cheaper!

  • @xoxofashiondiva well, sometimes you get it gifted, or you thought you'd only buy a couple but you get obsessed! the possibilities are endless! :D but yeahh imma start buying them in the pan now! x

  • @xoxofashiondiva cause once you have enough of the empty pots you got like a free lipstick or something (:

  • @xoxofashiondiva yea but once you have depotted 6 or emtied six mac eyeshadows the black part... you take in six of those and then you can take it in for a free lipstick

  • @xoxofashiondiva Back to mac :D haha but yes it is a lot more eco friendly, however when you buy eyeshadows and such you can back them and the actually recycle the plactic.

  • @xoxofashiondiva thats true but you can back to mac it and get a free one :)

  • @xoxofashiondiva lmao i have SOOO many replies! like over 10 i think!

  • @xoxofashiondiva she said it's because not all stores sell them in pan form

  • @xoxofashiondiva because if you have 6 empty eye shadow containers, you can take them to mac and get free eyeshadow, lipgloss, or lipstick.

  • @singergirl1513 you can do that with the pans as well though XD

  • good luck not cracking the hadows and ruining them

  • loved it :)

  • how come you dont put the magnet ?

  • I just discovered you today. Great depotting method. I've seen some where it is all flames. I like your method much better and will definately try you way. Thanks!

  • but the thing with this is now MAC wont take itfor back To MAC that is where half my collection came from i would depot then diiferently but ow they have to have the pan so u have to have it used up before you take it in :(

  • @Makeuplover57ify buy empty pans and stick them inside and you can back to mac it

  • Thanks this was really helpful!!!

  • Wow this was SOOOOOOOOOOOO helpful!!!!!!!!! All I used was an old tweezer and sissors. THANKSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

  • i think u have explained every step well...and i like ur pace i didnt have to watch it twice to understand it !!!!...thank you very much for sharing xxx

  • I feel like this just take's more effort and more time than using heat. Using a straightener i think works best, becuase you don't have to worry about cutting or prying or flames, it just melts and pops out. Plus, w/ this ^^ way, you do so much cutting that there's more of a chance the mac store won't accept the eyeshadow for back 2 MAC.

  • This was very thorough and helpful. You gave great tips for b2m also. I wouldn't have thought to purchase pans to put in the pot. Thanks!

  • great explaination and detailed demo! THANKS

  • Can you still Back-to-Mac the pot?

  • dumo :D

  • I definitely prefer the no-heat method. This was very helpful. Thank you.

  • that´s really cool. and I think it is easyer than the videos WITH heat :)

  • If you depot shadows this way you cant back to mac the pots.

  • i see a patrick the starfish toy in the backround lol cool i luv spongebob and awsome vid

  • Many people use this technique to depot their eyeshadows...I am one of many. If you search YouTube, you will find several other similar videos, and it doesn't necessarily mean everyone else has copied one person.

  • @asmuharde tons of people use this method... what makes u think enkore was the "original?" lol (no hate to enkore. i love his vids)

  • @Joyceline look at his video and hers .....exactly the same. look at allthatglitters21 's video about depoting eyeshadows and u'll see...she doesn't even bother to be a little different, she wasn't even smart in copying them

  • Comment removed

  • @asmuharde

That's quite the assumption you made about her trying to get subscribers. XD

Well. . .no idea is ever truly "brand new", so videos with the same techniques and concepts are bound to pop up.

It's okay because you don't HAVE to watch erica's video. ;D

  • @asmuharde you are SO retarded.

  • @loveszitx3 kiss my ass, fuckhead

  • @asmuharde lmao okay. ill get right on that. people dont STEAL ideas. this may be how half the people depot mac shadows. dont be such a fucking retard and people wouldnt say shit back to you.

  • @asmuharde That was completely uncalled for. She may of done the same things he did, but this is youtube everybody does the same things with a hint of their own style. Also, she may have subscribers that don't watch EnKore's videos so she did a video to show her subscribers. I mean really, no need to flip out and be rude over a video.

  • @Beautifu1B1urr you girl, are just plain stupid. go watch enkore's video, this stupid cow here copied not only the technique but also every single word he said. next time shut up

  • @asmuharde I'm sorry you live a miserable life. Just remember, Jesus loves you. :)

  • what eyeshadow is that? its pretty

  • i love your nails. there super feirce

  • i bought potted mac eye shadows cus i couldnt find a store near me. but i think i would break the eye shadow if i tried that. now i just bought refills instead lol good video

  • depotting does save space but some girls dont do that because they want to make it look like they have more makeup but i hate when they do that

  • Lovely video, thank you so much! And I love your voice!!

  • I can't find the ELF quads on their site! :(

  • Instead of a flame, you could use a hair blow dryer, too.

  • thank you so much i love your videos you make me more intrested in makeup subscribe to me ill scubcribe 2 u k thanks bye!

  • Depotting Mac and other products

  • try using parchment paper over a hair straightener to get the sticker off

  • I CANT USE MY TWEEZERS AND DO THAT STEP! hahaha

  • you can even use tweezers (more easily accessible) to pop the shadow out of the pan :)

  • Hehe thanks for the video!

  • this was very helpful:) i thought the pans were already magnetized?

  • the pro pans are. regular eyeshadows aren't meant to be depotted so MAC doesn't bother with magnetized pans for those.

  • You dont need to pry the pan out of the container with pliers. I just pulled it out with my finger. I wedged my thumb into the line and pulled.

  • what color is she using as an example? I WANT IT! lmao

  • @pointedancer4eva around 6:18, you can read the label. Looks like Pollinator?

  • thanks! :)

  • this uses heat....a candle is heat.....and this is so much more complicated then other videos/./

  • interesting...such love and dedication to do this.

  • do u have to have a surtant size and where do u get the container to put the eyeshadow into?

  • you can only but that pallet at maccosmetics (dot) com becasue those are the only ones that will fit the mac eyeshadows

  • one question. Do you think nail polish remover will also work? It also got alcohol in it .hmm I'm wondering. Thanks for the tutorial !

  • This was very helpful. I brought a mac palette today so Im going to depot some eyeshadows tonight! x

  • Comment removed

  • i asked the woman @mac is it the same amount of makeup in the filler pans that are in the little shadow cups(or whatever, lol) and she said "yes"...my point is i dont see why they are like 2 bucks more! even for the little cup thingy they come in

  • Maybe because the jar/tin/whatever costs $2 to make? :P

  • do you know if urban decay shadows will fit in the elf palettes?

  • @IndieGirl456 if u pop the seporator out then yes

  • Doesnt the mac store need the pan when you go back to mac?

  • @TeddyGeigersGurl1

yup they do! i was in a pro store the other day and the woman told me that! THEY NEED THE ENTIRE POT EVERYONE!!! :)

  • you shouldnt use an open flame in the area where you just had alcohol.. your lucky your counter didnt get set on fire. before i even started studying chemistry i knew that it was dangerous to have open flames where you were using a flammable solvent.

  • @allthebadkids alcohol evaporates so quickly i doubt it would be that big of a danger!

  • Comment removed

  • @allthebadkids umm the alcohol isnt on the part with the label...

  • since you don't put a magnet on the back, do the eyeshadows ever fall out the palette.

  • What alcohol percentage should I use for the depotting process?70% or 90%? I agree this is a lot safer than the other depotting tutorials.I may risk myself of putting together a MAC palette, but no risk hurting myself as well!

  • this is super SUPER helpful! thank you!!

  • this is sooo much safer than the video i saw before this...the girl used a knife! i swore she almost cut her hand and she claimed it was the safest way!!!!! i'd rather go with this method! thanks alot! very helpful!

  • I really like your videos! They look so professional :)

  • ...they are called pots. Thus the word, depot.

  • i love you! and ur vidd

  • yeah! it is chaeper to biy the refills for your palette! but you cannot get any refills of the limited edition eyeshadows can you?

so maybe sometimes you want to depot the ones you have from a limited edition... =)

i also buy the refills! when you buy the ones in the containers, just for the back to mac thing it's still not worth it....
