Is Lancashire traditionally understood as an area of England that was historically of Anglian Germanic settlement, or one of the areas of the Celtic Fringe that remained under native Brythonic Celtic settlement?
@SaxonBrit I read somewere that Lancashire has the 3rd biggest Celtic bloodline in England (the top 2 being cornwall and cumbria) I live in Preston and 70% of the people here have either a Scottish or Irish surname so I think there is defo more Celtic blood than Saxon blood here.
I'll never understand these melodramatics. Preston isn't a bad city at all, in fact it's quite a nice one. If you want to see scenes like you just described, go to Blackpool.
I'm quite sure that this low quality video was produced by a tight fisted town council official. Considering the average coucil tax in the town I'm surprised they could'nt have stolen a bit more for a better production. The Football museum has gone to Manchester where it should be. Winckley Square is a patch of trees and grass (half of which has just been chopped down) near town centre. The Museum is the ONLY piece of decent architecture in the town. The Corn exchange is an estate agents premise
The Carabeean festival is a bit muted now, i think there was only three floats last year, took about 15 seconds to pass my house...glad there ain't any Muslim festivals, they would be passing for weeks...
Alright there, i am German and i've been to England.
I must say that the Northern English (e.g. Preston, Manchester, Yorkshire etc.) are fare friendler and nicer people than the Southerners. London is very superficial, and now i know why they call it "Londonistan". lol
Also i like the northern English accents better. They sound funny, but they sound really good. Eeeee by gum, Luv. lol
And i also must say, that i think Preston is a great town.
@Elberiver11 I think pretty much alike. I'm from Germany as well. Northern English accents are somehow cuter and sound more "primal" (not meant as an insult, I think it's a good thing). I'm especially into the scouse accent from the Merseyside/Liverpool area, though lads from Lancashire are great as well ;)
nope the best skate spots are the university, brook street red rails, outside of the guild hall (upstairs),brook street behind the houses (nice stair set ups) and all the car parks in town (especially fish market one)
haha i loved it wen i went there we were skating lol and it is sick for scene girls btw the best skate spots are the football ground the university a 10 set neer were some market goes on n a few more places watch my video for the skatin we did
