  • beautiful

  • I actually think this sounds really nice. It has a really nice ambient affect to it

  • This is very creative! i like it!

  • Dude, you need to raise that guitar up a little. Your fretting hand is going to get fucked up. Your limiting yourself a lot to lifeless notes. I just trying to help you.

  • sounds like teamsleep did a song with a perfect circle

  • Sigur Ros

  • VERY CREATIVE idea :) kudos!

  • Sindsygt godt gået !

    Kh MS

  • du er for syg! :D

  • Great sound. Do you set your string action flat like a "normal" guitar or with some arc like an actual violin?

  • masterpiece!

  • which is better,a violin bowor cello bow for guitar?

  • cello.

  • i didn't know there was a difference. lol. i tried my violin bow on mine and i couldn't get a good sound. lol. but that was at least a year ago. i'm going to try again. this sounds really cool. :) nice.

  • awsome man, think I might try that out on my guitar.

  • I think an actual bow sounds so much better on a guitar than an e-bow.

  • Trentemøller is Danish? I thought he was Norwegian. damn, not only has Scandianvia dominated metal but we've dominated electronic in all it's forms.

i love playing the guitar with a cello bow, I started doing it after I listened to Sigur Rós do it. Jónsi is a genius.

  • The music is "haunted"... I must say definitely my friend.

  • amazing sound!!!

  • do you know what an e-bow is and where I can get it?

    I love that technique

there is an american duo with violin and guitar who do it too

but they ve got an avantgard style or how to write it

    sry I am from Germany

    guitar with bow sounds great

search also for "Violin and Guitar with Bow"

  • does it damage the bow when you use it

  • no it doesn't.

  • cool!

  • wow!!!!! amazing

  • Bad Ass skills, sounds really good.

  • sounds good

  • Is that room haunted?

  • No, the music is though.

    Do you see any ghosts?

  • Holy guitars batman! This is beautiful and it looks like the stars are beaming thru your skylight~*~ I wish I had this on cd!

  • hej er der harpiks på din bue...

  • ja, det skal der på alle buer.

  • Search for:

Trentemøller - Miss You (The Inituition Remix)

Brand new remix of this great song.

  • How much does such a bow cost? Great sound btw and trentemoller is awesome (:

  • Buy a cheap cello bow. It's about 30-50$.

  • this is probably a dumbass question..but did you raise your strings for this?

  • No, only raise the bridge mic.

  • kick ass work man, you caught the emotion and rode the wave. !!!

ill be going to denmark this summer to meet a girl, and hopefully ill be able to catch trentmoller if hes not off globtrotting.

    and christania.

any other ideas? festivals and such...

    either way good vibrations...

  • thanks man.

Well, there are so many places to go and concerts to hear in Copenhagen. Roskilde Festival is unique if you like festivals.

Mike Sheridan is an upcoming artist (a la Trentemøller), go check his music out.

I also made a song + video in the same style (Inituition - The deep, dark woods).

Check it out if you like. Peace.

  • The stars are on the window blind/curtain. My daughter has one exactly the same :)

  • look at the window! billions of stars... i bet he doesn't like in a big city...

really awesome sound too. sounds really dreamy.

can you give tips on how to play the guitar with the bow?

which amplifier setups and effects work out well? isn't the rosin bad for the pickups?

  • Hahaha, or Chelo?

  • or Cello, but you can always use a martin travel guitar. They barely have any sides to them.

  • shame on the quality of the upload... very nicely done!

  • very interesting, I hope they'd designa an acoustic guitar for use with bow...

    congratulations!

    Tom

  • one of the most awesome and creative work on youtube - great job!

  • so you mean: do what sigur ros does and call it experimental?

  • Do what sigur ros, Led Zeppelin, and a number of other artists do an have done. :-)

  • Love the "Girls Kick Ass" sticker. :) xD

  • that is so fucking badass

  • Are those real stars outside the window?

  • lol oh wait its the blinds i think.

  • wow, this is really great - tryed to play with a bow but didnt find the right sound. you did!

  • that's pretty sweet, you should "remix" it. I was skeptical at first but now I like it.

  • Great, what effects did u use。 A bit of delay

How did you get such a smooth sound?

    ?

  • haha, u make my ears hurting ;)

  • then turn down your volume because it sounds fine :D

  • awesome....very creative

  • Sigur Ros style may i add :)

  • Very Haunting..nice job

  • Your the awsomeness this sounds amazing

  • Your edit reminds me of The Sky was Pink - by Nathan Fake, some haunting and brilliant stuff!

  • Really man, trentemoller is the king :D

This tracks is one of my favorite .. i love this tracks :x

  • Fantastisk, virkelig god ide,

  • amazing, i like the direction your taking music. just imagination thom yorke singing and youd be signed in a second

  • so many guitars

so little of getting the point of the track

    just let it be original

    sorry

  • good idea,bad execution.

  • absolutely right. Original is the best!

  • I like the "passionofdenmark mix"! Adds more "dreaminess" to the song! And hey, you're not bad on the eyes either! Nice work!

  • Amazing work.... Love it!!!

  • VERY! Impressive !!

  • wow very impressive stuff

is there a specific technique for using a bow not just guitar any bowed instrument really coz iv never really played any other stringed instruments besides from guitar and bass

  • Awesome song! It reminds me alot of Sigur Ros. I've tried this before but I found it difficult to achieve the right sound. How exactly do you do this? What effects do you use?

  • a Delay and Reverb effect, I bought a bow like 3 days ago and im still getting it figured out haha

  • yo JdChirinos! if every other person in the world was ment to be like u...we would be playing nothin but percutions with rocks and tree parts jeje...welcome to an era of creativity...you should welcome that era too...if you cant...well then man....try som drugs!!! they are great!

    PassionOfDenmark i dig it.

me dont want to hurt feelings braaas

  • Dear lord... Can't you actually play a guitar?

  • Dear lord... check my other videoes.

  • JdChirinos, are you stupid? thats a pretty popular technique nowadays and if you play guitar then you should know this, because a good guitarist strives to find new techniques and styles, that way they can sound original, creative, and GOOD. and if you don't play guitar then why are you even questioning this...

  • grow up and fucking realize that it doesnt matter how you play it, but the sounds you can make of it.

this guy is MUCH more creative than all of those other blues guitarists who play the same pentatonic over and over again... and accept that, cause post-rock stuff is a growing genre.

  • @ProblemAudio

The emotion put into the music is far more important than notes or scales, and most post rock is pretty blank. This is like a subjective landscape film. It's beautiful, but has no character or passion. The reason the blues is so appealing is that it touches the very essence of what it means to be human, and most post rock is very apathetic and grave. Just like a film is much more than what it looks like, music is much more than what it sounds like. It's the emotion inside

  • sounds interesting

  • Very impressive. 5'd

  • wow thats neat. need to work on it a tad though. or fix the sound on the camera.

  • cool

  • sounds cool :-)

  • Not bad.

I play bowed guitar myself as well, and most of the stuff I encounter here is far from some decent playing.

I also use a Les Paul model. I don't know if you use software or pedals. I, myself use Ableton Live with Guitar Rig 2 and it does the job pretty well, eventhough Guitar Rig 2 lacks more diverse reverb.

    Enfin;

compliments on the vid. I WOULD advice using a different distortion in there, but that's me.

  • Thanks for the comments.

    I use pedals. No distortion.

The sound is pretty bad on this clip.

  • Det lyder fedt. Det lyder som Sigur Rós. "Reverb" = "Rumklang" på dansk, ikke?

  • yes sir!

  • Thanks.

    Lots of delay + reverb.

  • nice. what effects do you use here, and on your sigur ros covers?

  • cello bow.

  • is that a cello bow or a violin bow?

  • I will try to play the guitar with a cat next time... I hope that will certify for the word experimental for you.

  • That will sound horrid! But... experimental.
