  • Great series brother!

    Excellent!

  • Cheesequake is considered to be in Central Jersey, almost North Jersey. That's way up there. It's cool that you went there. It had to be pretty close to NYC. As for your oak leaf ID, you have a long way to go, buddy. :)

I seriously doubt there are any Willow Oaks that far north. And Blackjack Oaks like the driest and sandiest of barrens. At least one leaf you picked up was a Chestnut Oak, and the big yellow one you picked up was a Sassafras. The ones on the wooden railing were White Oaks.

  • This oak identification thing is tough, I'm amazed at how you're able to tell all the different ones apart.

Its not that close to NYC, but I think it is the closest pine barrens to NYC. It's only about a 40 min bus ride or so, so I guess that's pretty close. But I have read that there is a very small pine barrens in Staten Island, which is even closer to NYC, that I'll check out someday.

  • Staten Island? I never knew! I'll definitely be interested in what you find out.

Yeah they oaks can be tough, but some certain ones became easy after while. But there are a few that still get me.

  • Very beautiful. I love the piny areas more, but this was still very nice. A shame you missed all the colors, Looked like a beautiful day.

  • Very nice. I can't wait to get up there

  • really nice area.. Congrats on the new (and better) governor
