I have Rockbox on my Clip+, and the games seem point less because (a) the graphics are unusable (b) no sound . Do the games on the Fuze version have sound?

Yes other than USB. So don't plug it in while rockbox is running and you'll be fine.

I love how powerful the Fuze is. I tried the beta firmware and doom + everything else was sluggish. The new firmware makes everything speedy. Doom is faster on my Sanza Fuze than my r4 ds.

We've been begging for Fuze v2 rockbox for years now. I've given up on it to be honest. I suspect they've given up. I've just ordered a Cowon D2+, so I'm looking forward to gapless playback, CUE file support (wow!), and FLAC, APE, and WV support! I was never happy with the Fuze's sound quality either, so bring on the Cowon!

@numbskullandy Rockbox is a volunteer project. This means if you want it on a player that you own then you should jump in and do the work to make it happen. However, you should check out the Rockbox site as the v2 Fuze is now much closer to being a stable port.

@Chronon Thanks for the reply man. I actually sent my Cowon D2+ back because the sound was worse than the Fuze! So I still have my trusty little Fuze. I am computer illiterate, so there's no way I could contribute to the Rockbox, but I look forward to it being a reality! I find it unbelievable that Sansa find it so impossible to add CUE support despite the many pleas of customers - surely it's not rocket science? Oh well, bring on Rockbox! :)

Found out about the switches...you need to map a key to "open"...and you need to do it each time you run the game (it doesnt save your settings). I mapped it to "Key on" which is the wheel. The same key is also used to switch weapons. Sloppy, but it works.

I remember having to buy a $2000 PC to play this game. Now I am playing it on my $50 MP3 player. But how the hells to I operate switches? All I can do it move around and fire weapons.

idk about sansa fuze but i installed roxbox for my sansa e280 v2 and works fine (even if it gets screwed it can be recovered unlike the fuze/clip
