its the same thing when lea tried to sing "defying gravity" she lowered the key na but still she could not belt in chest she used headvoice instead which takes the intensity and the power away. thats the objective part. but i dont take way from her the fact that she is a very good broadway actress and a clear crystal feminine voice though not as sultry and silky or warm as the voice of kuh.
pero again, sa parehong octave mas silky ang voiceni kuh or regine who also has warmer and rounder voice. compare lea's version of "of all the things" at ang version ni regine ng "of all the things" regine's voice was noticeably warmer, silkier, and rounder while lea's voice was much clearer, lighter. try weatching the video of lea and kuh singing n a duet in kuh's concert in the US. you can see there that kuh's voice sounded silkier and warmer showing who really is the more seasoned vocalist.
ok i guess it truly is a matter of taste. but i do not agree that lea is type casted as a disney-singer. it just so happens that she stands out in this category. but i am so sure she will do just as well singing an "i still believe" (mariah) and "don't cry for me argentina".
as a matter of biz, when a singer homes in on a niche then she must pound on it. (disney/ broadway.) the problem is that our singers tend to focus too much on displaying versatility that they lose their edge on any segment.

every belter belting extremely high notes titinis talaga ang boses kasi mataas na kumbaga ang frequency. remeber na while lea is belting C5s and D5s regine is already belting G5s, A5s, and B5s so thats like 6 semitiones or 5 notes up. wala pa po akong naririnig na bumibirit ng ganun kataas na hindi matinis ang dating. as in wala pa po. pero kung nasa parehong ocatve si lea pure ang boses at very clear pati ang diction. sa aspeto na ito mas may lamang si lea kesa kay regine or kahit kay kuh pa.
...pareng or mareng goodmusiciswhatilove: ok, medyo gets na kita. chest range and all. i guess it is all about personal taste. for example, mariah care you would say has the most incredible range, with volume, quality sustained throughout and all. but i would still opt for a beyonce since ganun ang boses na tayp ko. or for that matter, norah jones has a narrow range. but hell, siya lang ang kayang bumirada ng that type of jazzy voice. personal taste. i respect that
well to say that lea could have done the prayer i think is may element ng objectivity dun. and what could perhaps be an objective criterion is that on the chest range required by the song and the nuances of the voice needed in the upper chest. i think it is in this aspect that lea may fail to meet the requirements. as i sad, maraming Fs and power, controlled, sustained and properly modulated notes in the upper chest range ang the prayer.

maraming fans dito si lea sa pilipinas.... don't generalize perlinette... ganon siya pinalaki na matatas sa ingles kaya wag mo pakialaman yon. ang mahalaga kahit ganon sya magsalita ng filipino ay never nya dineny na filipina siya. She brings us pride and honor all over the world... at marami syang fans dito sa pilipinas at sa buong mundo. dahil kung wala hindi sya kukunin mag perform dito at sa abroad.

its the same thing when lea tried to sing "defying gravity" she lowered the key na but still she could not belt in chest she used headvoice instead which takes the intensity and the power away. thats the objective part. but i dont take way from her the fact that she is a very good broadway actress and a clear crystal feminine voice though not as sultry and silky or warm as the voice of kuh.

pero again, sa parehong octave mas silky ang voiceni kuh or regine who also has warmer and rounder voice. compare lea's version of "of all the things" at ang version ni regine ng "of all the things" regine's voice was noticeably warmer, silkier, and rounder while lea's voice was much clearer, lighter. try weatching the video of lea and kuh singing n a duet in kuh's concert in the US. you can see there that kuh's voice sounded silkier and warmer showing who really is the more seasoned vocalist.

ok i guess it truly is a matter of taste. but i do not agree that lea is type casted as a disney-singer. it just so happens that she stands out in this category. but i am so sure she will do just as well singing an "i still believe" (mariah) and "don't cry for me argentina".
as a matter of biz, when a singer homes in on a niche then she must pound on it. (disney/ broadway.) the problem is that our singers tend to focus too much on displaying versatility that they lose their edge on any segment.

tama ka, i agree. pero sabi ko nga may element of objectivity pa rin. to say that lea can sing the prayer better than celine ang objective question dun is, does lea have the chest range to compete with celine head to head? lea's chest range is limited. she can't deliver Fs the way celine can deliver. as a matter of course, i dont think lea can deliver a high F with power and control at all. she resorts to headvoice.

every belter belting extremely high notes titinis talaga ang boses kasi mataas na kumbaga ang frequency. remeber na while lea is belting C5s and D5s regine is already belting G5s, A5s, and B5s so thats like 6 semitiones or 5 notes up. wala pa po akong naririnig na bumibirit ng ganun kataas na hindi matinis ang dating. as in wala pa po. pero kung nasa parehong ocatve si lea pure ang boses at very clear pati ang diction. sa aspeto na ito mas may lamang si lea kesa kay regine or kahit kay kuh pa.

well to say that lea could have done the prayer i think is may element ng objectivity dun. and what could perhaps be an objective criterion is that on the chest range required by the song and the nuances of the voice needed in the upper chest. i think it is in this aspect that lea may fail to meet the requirements. as i sad, maraming Fs and power, controlled, sustained and properly modulated notes in the upper chest range ang the prayer.
