I don't give a godamn fuck what any of the noob sonic fanboys think, I am 26 and I played Sonic The Hedgehog when it first appeared on the Master System and Megadrive (Live in England) and Sonic Generations for most part is an excellent and well put together game, I have relived Sonic again through this game, I am proud to say I own it and It really treats you well as a sonic fan. Well done Sonic Team you have recaptured why I love Sonic The Hedgehog again.

@kennydude19 I like the idea of being able to go to what levels i choose and taking the game at what pace I want. There's even a retro room you can goto when you unlock goodies from doing lots of the quite fun mini games. Overall would give Sonic Generations for all you people who doubt it a well deserved 9/10. The replay value is very good and it only costs 15 quid now.

@kennydude19 that is the most " pure " comment ive ever heard about Generations. every other comment is about the flaws or how its so short. im only thirteen but i still love sonic because adventure was the first game i EVER played. funny thing is, i beat it after playing it about two times XP but Generations let me relive everything i remember about sonic games. it pretty much saved my faith in sonic, period. it actually started my interest in music. people who dont like sonic, SMELL MY ASS!!!!

ShadowTH had a great concept but was executed poorly...graphics were bad, guns were annoying, etc., but it had so much replayability. Which is one of the best things Sonic games can do, because most of the time you're going so fast during the stages that the game developers need to make huge levels and find a way to make sure you spend effort on them. Which Shadow accomplished very well. They never tried the whole path idea with different combat, though.

I think the Chaos Emeralds are just for game completion. If I recall correctly, Super Sonic wasn't introduced until Sonic 2, and wasn't a plot element until Sonic 3.

Yeah. But I also kind of like it, because it gives you more of an incentive to do stuff in some games, because you need to unlock him to truly beat the game. Like how in this game you have to beat everybody's story (I think that's all you have to do...) to unlock the fight with Perfect Chaos.

@Zyoracthebrave actually it was both Sonic Adventures. they were obtained in the storyline so there was no need to collect them outside of it. however sonice heroes brought back a little challenge in getting the chaos emerald. personally for me the hardest emeralds to get were in the Sonic Advance series. you had to not only find all the emblems just to get to the stage. but you actually had to avoid a robot while still avoiding the red bubbles. that one was difficult.

I imagine so though. none of the games with Modern sonic are too challenging anymore. Sonic unleashed was only a pain cause of having to be a Were-Hedgehog part of the time and certain enemies were placed to just annoy you.

Yeah, the Werehog stages in Unleashed were horrible, in my opinion. They kind of ruined the game for me. But Unleashed did give Sonic the ability to dash really fast like we see in later games (Those being Colors and Generations, and most likely any 3D Sonic games to come).

Yeah, there's only nine stages, with two acts each, and three boss stages, as well as two "rival battles". The games presented are Sonic, Sonic 2, Sonic 3, Adventure, Adventure 2, Heroes, Sonic '06, Unleashed, and Colors.
