  • good and very helpful video but, i am not going to try it at least now, i have my new mac pro and it very good maybe when he gets slow after 3-4 years i'll make the same

  • You can pick up T6s in Home Depot....

  • I have a question. If you install such a big harddrive wont you need a faster processer I heard macbook pro is able to support all this processing speed. But I am using the old macbook white. Its quite impossible if I want to add a larger harddrive space and downloads windows with a 2GHz processer speed only right? All I can is just put up with the lag....is that the only way? Please do help!

  • LOL, the music

  • the 13 is differnt then the 15 and the 17

  • i have one but it came with 6 of them

  • How is your Macbook Pro running since you installed the Hard Drive ?? Smoothly ?

  • Good video, plan to swap out for a SSD once they become affordable

  • For those talkin down about macs I had mine for 2 years, no viruses, no crashes, no overheat, no bugs. Works the same way just as I bought it. PC easily get viruses and crash then you have to buy new antivirus software every year. Its not overpriced because you get zero viruses and is so easy to used. PC's have too many applications and too many programs just to do one simple thing. Its just like the commercial.

  • u got a CAT?

  • yet macs are pretty much taking over businesses worldwide now. huge schools and companys are switching from pc to mac because the mac interface is so easy to use. when you have only 3 things on your desktop, and all your main apps on your dock, I find it wicked easy. plus how long does it take you to uninstall a progam? huh?

  • Not very long actually. I would say 30 seconds max. This is XP we're talking about. on 7 it would probably be the same if not faster. You mac fanboys fail to realize that macs are overpriced, under equipped and not as capable as their similarly priced PC counterpart. PCs are always about a year or two ahead of macs with equipment. Ever wonder why macs started using Intel chips? Because their own CPUs couldn't keep up.

  • Lol is that why Macintosh computers were the first to mass produce ddr3 in a computer? or the PPC the dual processor 2.5 or even the 2.0 would make the majority of computer look like crap lol you need to look at your facts

  • Ugh, is all I can say, please go away...this is his video he can do anything he wants...noone was forcing you to watch.

  • for a guy whos name is

'Hewhosmokeswomen' Im suprised you dont like his 'N*gger Music', highly offensive and unnecessary. Its a shame you convey your ideas is such a thuggish manner because I agree with your views on PCs. Macs can obtain virus' this was proved by a group of hackers, Macs are largely left alone by hackers because they are the underdog in the market. They are incredibly useful, stylish and simple though, but as a gamer I use a PC.

  • Racist bitch

  • Great video. Do the same instructions apply to adding a solid state hdd to the computer? (and can i add a SSD to my 13" macbook pro unibody?)

  • this is a kool video very thurowl

  • hi there good video, used it to install a new HDD in my macbook :) just wondering what the music was from 4.49 to 5.40. cheers

  • western digital now has 1tb hard drives for laptops now :O

    gonna get one

  • For anyone that doesn't know how to upgrade a HDD in the new unibody MacBook Pros you DON'T need to remove the entire bottom to upgrade the HDD. You only need to flip the latch, remove the battery cover and upgrade it from there.

  • not on this model

  • @EchoAudio

This is the new model. It does not have a latch or a battery cover apart form the entire bottom surface.

  • yes you DO there isnt a latch on the new macbook pros

  • Comment removed

  • one of the mac book pros in the early 2008 trumped a alienware machine

  • great vid man nice to see ur vids again.keep it up

  • this is what dlb is spending all his money he received from donations on. nice. I think we should all demand a refund

  • lol that's wrong

  • a place fore gamers teaching you how to install a HDD in a mac

  • macs are better for games then most pc's

  • lol, what a retard

  • your the retard macs are better then your cheap ass dell and hp that MOST people buy

  • don't mistake smart for cheap

  • what? macs are way better for gaming them pc's

  • what games? you realize games are made for pc right? macs can play WoW. so what

  • i got call of duty 4,3 and halo 3 and crysis so you have been owned its a damm stupid myth that mac can't play games they can just fine i got 60fps on a mac from 2007

  • that doesnt mean they run better on mac. they run on anything that runs them well. stop being an apple dick sucker already

  • your retarded

  • Not at all, using Boot Camp will fix the compatibility problems, but it doesn't fix the shitty GPU that Mac's have. Laptop's aren't the best choice for games to begin with, though.

  • how much would it be if u took it to be done at the apple store?

  • i transfer my music from my mac and ipod on to my ps3.

  • hey did u know about MAC+PlayStation 3 works together very well? the other day i read an article abour PS3 can play ur songs or movies from ur mac, i think its streams data from the MAC to the PS3, that why i want to get a mac..

  • can u send me the info on how to do that i have a macbook and ps3

  • thnx for that info, what about the new hd sony computers? I'm pretty sure they work well together considering they are both made from the same company lol xD

  • just like a PS3 lol

  • nice dog DLB, how much did the HDD cost?

  • ya boiiiii!!!! DLB is the place to be!!!!!!

  • are you going to show us the formatting on the next video? or the mac running?

  • where have you been!!!?? :P

  • lol at the sound effect in the beginning when the dog walks in!

  • its kinda ironic that your name is anti fanboys isnt it..

  • DLB has all 3 consoles

  • you should of gotten a SSD much faster

  • much more expensive too

  • booooobies :)

  • 5/5..

  • how large was the HDD you took out of the mac?

  • 320GB is what came in the MacBook Pro

  • if i had a warranty would doing this void it

  • No. This will not void your warranty.

  • yea it would

  • @samuelu21352135 just don't tamper with the battery!

  • hey was the mac worth it for you??

  • I will be doing a review video soon.

  • great to see your back

  • well its great that you're back and i'll be waiting for the review cuz i want to get a new laptop

  • By the way dlb, you will need to change the links in the description, as bids will end and the links will show up as broken!

  • Thanks. I didn't think of that.

  • No probs brah. Just thought it would help while the vid was still up early, so people wouldnt be bitchin!

  • dlb make a vid of how to re-format the hdd! :)

  • if that's a serious question...just open Disk Utility

  • how do you open disk utility when there's nothing on the hdd? the hdd already has it's own sofware on it? or firmware that allows u to do that? hmm interesting. well it wasn't a really serious question i don't have a mac, but i was just wondering. i did just install windows 7 on my laptop and i used a brand new hdd. i'm wondering how dlb created the disk though to restore the os. i had windows 7 on a disk i downloaded.

  • When you buy a Mac you get both the Operating System disk and the software disk. The Operating System disk contains everything that is needed to format, fix, and install a Leopard installation. I forget where it is located but it is in the top menu and is called Disk Utility.

Hope this helped, if not let me know

  • oic hmm. so u can reinstall the same os unlimited amounts of time as long as it's on the same ocmputer? and i didn't take that the wrong way. why so serious? lol

  • The reason I asked if it was a serious question was not meant to be mean, but was because I wasn't sure if you were joking. I just didn't want to be the person who responded to a joking question and looked. Hope you understand.

  • and looked stupid*

  • haha. I didn't want to look like a jerk. I've never tried to install it onto another computer but Apple's OS does not require a serial or activation. They offer a family pack but it is really the same disk as the single computer install. both can be installed an unlimited amount of time. It's kind of an honor system I guess.

  • nice vid

  • Audio in video intro is too loud

  • yea man i got to get me one of these macs

  • I haven't seen you in forever. Damnit Jiggaman, you gotta start the vids again!

  • Thanks for the very informative video I am going to reference to this when I get my macbook pro.
