  • Even this vid mentions him as being a student of Kano (Judo), not Matsumura or Aragaki Ou, as he claimed. I think this lack of Karate in Chitose's Karate system is what helped Tsuroka turn towards Shotokan, where principles were at least organized and explained.

  • Here we go again. I studied Chito for 5 years and was Brown before moving on. I have seen this and a few other videos of the old man. Not ONCE did I see any 'karate'. After study (and my sensei was a student of Chitose's, don't get me as being disrespectful), I am convinced that Chitose was an aikido man who knew some basic "te", and rode the Okinawan "Karate Master" gravy train to success once his old schoolteacher Funakoshi set the standard. Every demo has Chitose doing BASIC aikido

  • I've met Yamamoto (chitose's student and now leader of Yoshukai). You don't really see true martial artists like them anymore.

  • Thanks for this!!

  • wow , that was some rohai bunkai applications! three of them! thanks for the lesson!
