@HnK809 No, to my knowledge Virgin Mobile USA does not offer free nights or weekends on any of their prepaid smartphone plans.  Perhaps you're thinking of Virgin Mobile Canada or another region...

I've had my first android phone, the LG Optimus Q (a.k..a LG Optimus Slider) 2 days now. It took some time, but now I like it. I feel fine with it; I've spent time getting to know it. I have easy access to my gmail, plus I take back what I said; I now think it is very user friendly. I just had to crawl out of my cave & learn an android. I took pics with it at the Alpaca festival yesterday, & they are high quality, & it's super easy to manage albums, share photos, etc.

I've been learning my new LG Optimus q (same as LG Optimus slider), I'm not afraid of it anymore, however, it is not user-friendly. after having this phone for a day, my mom called me, and it was ringing and ringing, but I could NOT figure out how to answer it. I'm not stupid! I don't get why a phone should be so oblique, so almost purposely user-unfriendly. PS it's prob just me. i'll post update soon.....

All of a sudden the phone was shipped to me today (the LG Optimus Q, exact phone as the LG Slider). So I called Straight Talk, & suddenly my old Verizon phone quits working, & i'm suddenly on this new foreign phone (they gave me my same phone number!). I've had an hour with it, but I feel traumatized, and I LONG for my old little flip phone, which won't work at all anymore. OMG what have i done???

Today straighttalk emailed me that my new LG Optimus Q (exact phone as Optimus slider) has been shipped and will arrive on Monday. I wonder why no one has posted any videos about their new LG Optimus Q yet... I have no idea how activation will work... I can't wait to finally cancel my freaking verizon plan. downside: new phone number, and lost contacts, etc. no prob, i'll enter the contacts into the new phone.

@chente006 I'm not sure on that one, but if it follows after the Optimus V then it will not have or be capable of running Adobe Flash Player.  Keep in mind this is an extreme value end Android device. :-)

Thanks for the video! I have ordered the LG Optimus Q (exact same phone) thru StraighTalk. Phone was $180 w/ unlimited talk, text, & web for $45/mo. Uses Sprint network. It will be my first android; still using a little flip-phone thru Verizon! I can't wait to get my new phone!! I'm afraid of the touch-screen keyboards, so I was glad to find this one has a real keyboard!

@bengoro7 Well a few months ago I would have said never - Virgin Mobile is a value oriented prepaid carrier. But every month they seem to be introducing newer and newer phones with more and more features. I wouldn't be surprised if we saw a premium dual core device from VMUSA sometime next year...

Liked your video! My Dad got the Samsung Intercept back in June because he wanted his first Android phone. He got on the $25 plan which is loves. I warned him about the Intercept phone as I bought it earlier this year. But he likes it, but it still freezes up even with Android 2.2 Froyo. I plan on buying him the LG Optimus Slider for Christmas. It will be a great upgrade for him! Like you said...anything is better than the Samsung Intercept! LOL

@rubberpooch Yup, if he must have a physical keyboard then I would definitely reccomend checking out the Slider when it becomes available. And remember you can upgrade phones without losing the $25 plan grandfathering, so no price increases for him!
