i read in a magazine that mcr saved his life too. he was overweight, like 300 lbs, and lost a lot with a better diet and burning calories drumming for the band. GO BOB!

i love bobs style, he basically showed drummers you can be an amazing punk drummer and still have good technique. Travis Baker, i will admit is a good drummer but if you watch him play, he has horrible form and someday thats gonna end his drumming career whether he wants to or not. But Bob has great Form and Technique.

All in all Bob has more structure

Travis is more bash and go and see how complicated i can make this beat

So you cant compare the two.

Bob quit because of musical differences. Basically he didn't like the kill joy thing and the whole techno style. I don't blame him for leaving. I like danger days but techno isn't my thing and I think that the black parade and three cheers were better. Also the scrapped songs were great because they were punk which fits mcr really well and so does the techno thing but in my opinion I don't like it as much as their old sound.

you usually dont realize it until you see it, but Bob actually has a lot of complicated parts in every song.

i wonder if he's even paying attention to the rest of the band, or if he's just focusing on his part and keeping the tempo...

@BCviolin8290 Usually when you drum to music you made the part to, you spend so much time working on it, the part becomes second nature and the tempo is just engraved in your head. Sometimes we sing lyrics (you can't hear us anyway), some of us improv our fills. Other do stick tricks and stuff. I tend to to improv my fills, which some people really don't like. I don't know what Bob does.

its cus there tuneddifo and wile one drum is for one song to play to there best obilitey they need 2 sets that are tuned in difo ways for sertan songs like if you see them in a littel club they dont have the 2 drums but the sounds alittel difo if you lisen closly

Its because the plays Black Parade on a bigger kit to use more toms and the marching snare, but usually he switches to the smaller 4 piece kit to play the rest of the songs because its more comfortable for him.

no doubt! (though not 1000x better dont't exaggerate) But Bob Bryar's good as well, he's been playing since he was 4. Not just as a drummer, but you can't deny without him MCR won't be what they are today. He doesn't just DRUM, he's a part of MCR's music.

Bob Bryar has cited Neil Peart as one of his influences. I'm pretty sure he respects Neil Peart as a drummer as well.
