  • She was so little and fragile..I feel so bad for her. R.I.P.

  • This is quite eerie...how can someone do that to someone else??? I'll never understand! :,( I pray that we can put in power some people who will stop things like this from happening and letting killers get away with murder...I'm so sorry, Dominique! It wasn't your fault...and justice will be served one way or another...God bless and keep safe anyone who may be going through any of this kind of hurt and turmoil in their lives or know anyone who is! Please say something...anything! </3

  • @Chloey0789 Thank you for your beautiful and eloquent comments! Your words speak for many millions of us who just cannot understand what rationale drives these abusers to act in such an inhumane way! Your post has truly touched my heart! ;-)

  • Guys who turn violent against women are nothing but scum. Let alone murderers!

  • A day before she was to guest star on "Hill Street Blues" (1981), she was badly beaten by her boyfriend. She showed up on the set with bruises on her face; since she was playing an abused teen in the episode, she wore no make-up. The bruises we see in the episode are real. She was dead before this episode aired.

  • That's why I dont trust boys :(

    R.I.P. Dominique =/

  • @CarolAnnePoltergeist Well you can trust me :) lol ... the problem is they go for the wrong guys just because they have the hots for them and whatnot.

  • @mrsoundwave Actually....it begins at 4:28....LoL That was a great observation!! Good catch!! ;-)

  • @Lottoman17 actually this could just be a mirrored version. Its on youtube alot to avoid copyright infringement. I bet anything if I found this ep on the DVD that sign wouldn't be backwards.

  • @Y2Jin99 Actually, this was my own video capture taken from my personal video tape collection. When "Hill St." first premiered in Jan. of 1981, I started taping the show on my old Sony Betamax SL-5200 VCR. I continued recording the show for all seven seasons. I only missed two episodes of the 146 episodes broadcast. So, what you're seeing here in my clip is the way the show originally aired on NBC TV. Thanks for your comment! ;-)

  • I was a little girl when Dominique died. I remember that I couldn't understand why ANYONE would beat up and strangle such a beautiful girl. At first, I thought it was a burglar or a robbery gone bad, but then I found out the culprit was her BOYFRIEND!! >:[

    So very sad.

  • cocksucker piece of shit woman beaters. i'd kill myself before i beat a woman up like that.

  • -California doesn't know how to punish criminals--why is Charles Manson alive???

  • @MrMarty444 because the federal gov't did a moratorium on death penalty cases around 1970. there was too much evidence of people being wrongly convicted and wrongly executed. so anyone on death row in all 50 states had their sentences commuted. the death penalty wasn't reinstated until 1976. so that is why charles manson is still alive. and he didn't kill anyone, sick bastard that he is.

  • R.I.P. Dominique

  • they didn't have to put make up on her face to look like bruises.

  • fuck John Sweeney

  • This is a very touching tribute. I was only a little kid in '82, but I learned about Dominique's tragic death years later, after watching Kenneth Johnson's miniseries "V." As I'm sure you know, Johnson dedicated the film to her memory. Watching this clip, I can only imagine how good her performance in that film could have been had she been able to complete it.

  • i have read a lot on her case and followed her father with love....i can't believe that anyone would not question her face here....is it truly? made me gasp....i thought I 'd see old bruises or something less glaring as her sad brutalized face....

  • Hill StreetBlues was a good show...R.I.P. Dominique

  • he claimed that he killed his girlfriend. err, she had already dumped your obese arse months ago, murderer

  • My appologies, I did not have my facts straight and I misunderstood. Thanks for replying to my comment as I have a better understanding. May she rest in heavenly peace in lord Jesus's name.

  • wow what a great actress. That scene was very realistic and moving. R.I.P

  • I didn't know about her death. Thanks for sharing.

  • That was deep. Dom was such a great actress. I hate that guy killed her poor thing. I never realized just how tiny she was. Seeing her with the other She was too small for some jerk to be beating up on her in real life. I wish the bruises on her little face were just make up, but they weren't and that's really so sad.

  • So what the producers looked at her face and said "Good she's already in make-up!"

Or maybe they didnt care back in the 80s?

  • I was actually born on November 18th, 1982

  • According to imdb..com, all of the bruises were real and Dominique wore no makeup. They also say that Sweeney/Maura did only 2 1/2 years for her murder, being found guilty of "unintentional manslaughter". How can you strangle someone and it be unintentional murder? What a maggot...he'll get his eventually.

  • Dominique was already dead when this episode came on. That is so sad. She started her acting career in 1979. She only have 4 years to grace the tv screen with her talent and beauty. If John Sweeney had not killed this wonderful girl she probably would have been up there with Drew Barrymour and Julia Roberts in the top actress family. RIP Dominique.

  • @TudorRose85 I second that. When I heard that Miss Dunne had passed away, I thought I was going to get atrial fibrillation.

Thank you for posting this, and have a safe holiday.

  • The animal who killed her only did four years. Hard to believe you can get away with a short sentence for abuse and murder. R.I.P. Dominique Dunne

  • RIP!

  • according to reports all of them were real. she had just got beaten up by her abusive boyfriend jeff sweeny i think it was

  • @neekco86 John Sweeney who is now named John Maura

  • Ironic that a high-powered attorney's daughter is murdered by her boyfriend and he gets so little time.

  • That little baby would be 28 now. I wonder if he gets residuals for this show.

  • R.I.P.

  • very touching. i recently read about her life and came across this vid after a search.

  • @movitmovit me too

  • Amazing after being assaulted, she went ahead with taping.

  • MY DAD USE TO LOVE THIS SHOW WHEN IT WAS ON AND HE NEVER MISSED A SHOW WHEN I WAS LITTLE. HE PASSED IN 2004 AND NOW I BROUGHT THE FIRST SEASON DVD IN HIS HONOR.

  • God Bless Dominique Dunne's family- too soon she was taken from this world :(

  • weren't some of the bruises real?

  • @jordanSTILLprances If you look just below the lower right corner of the video screen, just to the left of the total number of views, there is a button to press. It will expand to show you the three paragraphs I wrote containing the entire background info on this clip, plus more of Dominique's background. In answer to your question, yes, most of those bruises were the 'real thing'.

  • @Lottoman17 No, she was attacked two weeks after this episode was completed...

  • @TimmyTim0376 I'm not clear with your point, Tim. Which attack are you speaking of? She was brutally attacked by John Sweeney the night before filming of the Hill St. Blues episode, which led to the facial bruises displayed in that episode. That obviously was not the fatal attack, which occurred on Oct. 30th, two weeks prior to the episode she appeared in. Please click on the Wikipedia link which I provided in the description to this video, for more info. Thanks for your post!!

  • @jordanSTILLprances Yes, they were. She was beaten, by John Sweeney. Rest in Peace DOMINIQUE

  • @jordanSTILLprances yes, she got them the night before that ep. was filmed

  • @jordanSTILLprances Yes. She needed little make up to do this TV ep.

  • @jordanSTILLprances I read that her boyfriend beat her right before shooting started and so she needed no makeup for her part. Too bad she didn't press charges.

  • Poor woman,that.....monster he do this to her...! this world is too cruel, she was so young...

  • It makes this video even more creepy, if you know that those bruises are REAL. :( Poor girl.

  • Thank you SO much for posting this.

  • wow. this makes her death even more tragic; she had the potential to be a great actress. I'd only ever known her as dana from "poltergeist", thanks for so much posting this.

  • One of the finest (and rarest) depictions of domestic violence ever. Incredible. The most powerful of all dynamics--the dark mother daughter relationship--exposed.

  • it suposedd that her bruised were real...her boyfriend hurt her....bastard she´s died and he´s free...

  • Dang...I knew Dominick Dunne's daughter was murdered, I did not realize she had been on HSB...

  • Good Post! May this video stay up uncontested!!!
