Officials took different precautions for the car in the 1998 time capsule. Encased in modern plastics and stored in a vault above ground, a 1998 Plymouth Prowler was entombed at Centennial Park. The Prowler's time capsule won't be opened until 2048. Instead of being lowered into an underground vault like the Belvedere, the Prowler was driven into an above-ground mausoleum, which was then filled with an inert gaas and sealed shut and partly covered with dirt. Give us a break on the 1957 car!!
Great job Oklahoma! Great engineering on this one. Not only could you not build the car, you couldn't even simply store it. This event will certainly bring jobs to Oklahoma.
Car would have been better off stored in Lake Texhoma for 50 years & then dragged out for exibit. Why did they not seal it up better? If your going to do something, do it right!
they put a car in a tomb that can withstand a nucleor war but still manages to get rusty, well thats 50 years down the pan! they might as well of put the thing in a lake for 50 years
what the hell is the big deal about this?? 50 years. wow. And the car came out like crap. I can show you cars looking exactly like that in the junkyard that are 50 years old
my spanish teacher laster year was one of the people that put somethings in the car

Not exactly the most-advantageous shooting angle, but the spontaneous background comments are truly fascinating.
