Back then taxes on millionaires was 91%. Kennedy dropped it to 70%, and now it's down to 35% or even as low as 15% if you call it "Capitol Gain".

Another irritation for me is why cut medicare and SS security, something I have already paid into. What did they do with my contribution? I would probably say give themselves a raise. Failure to raise the debt limit doesn't automatically mean default. All it means is the creditcard is maxed out. You have to cut your spending to pay the necessary bill, like the payments on the debt, social security, medicare and defence. Those MUST be paid by law. No high speed rail.

The road block that exists is assuming that Obama wants the economy to succeed.
