Retard. Maori culture isn't unique to the rest of Polynesia because they consciously decided to do their own thing. No one said "oh hey let's do our own thing, let's set our own rules and culture!" with respect, the original Maori would not have been that gay. Maori culture is different from other Polynesian cultures because of a combination of them being the first to inhabit land in a temperate climate, use of resources unique to that land, and the isolation that its remoteness caused.
