i just started watching higurashi no koro ni, and this song is so haunting, yet so awesome. i consider it to be soothing in a dark way. i'm just a fan of dark soothing music. dark sanctuary is one of my ultimate favorites.

So it's referencing the series title.

Am I the only one kind of annoyed that "Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni" is only "When They Cry" instead of "When Cicadas Cry"?

I thought it would be better to call it "When Cicadas Cry" because the cicadas are mentioned in the series often.
