I'm hoping we'll see some kind of side vs side online war bit to go on, kind of hope it will borrow some lessons from Chrome Hounds to boot and really push some major weather conditions. I'd like to further see some real major swap ups in environments, maybe do what Fallout Tactics did in a turn based/RTS where if they're not seen you can still read them via sound and movement, but leave things tucked quietly in cover off the radar into this shooter set up.
i didn't expecting the features and gameplay yeah its like AC
the feature should be for Single or Possible Multiplayer:
-Get off/Get in to your Wanzer anytime, so you can escape with your dying Wanzer and to mount to other Wanzer or Mount to defensive gun pods, land, sea, and air vehicles, there's should be Perks skill like +damage on pilot so when he/sher got killed you can take over his/her powerful Wanzer, you can steal weapons wrecked Wanzer is possible pickup according to your Weight Ability
That's in part what I was 'hoping' for. Pull what that Gundam: One Year War game that was due out for the 360 was going to accomplish in part. Now are you saying that's what it is going to be like, or what you're hoping for? I have to admit it's been kind of hard to get more info about this game. They've been quiet about it, a little too quiet. And I'm all the further worried because the Square Enix channel disabled comments on their youtube channel about it.
Pick up Chrome Hounds for the 360 used for dirt cheap. That could hold ya over. If it wasn't for human opponent mechs popping out of reality after they sit their after being blown up, I'd say it's probably been one of the more realistic feeling mech games out there. Yes I realize I'm comparing real life potential to a mech game. >.>
Good use of weather, battle field conditions, and even weapon cam filters. If western style mech combat was real, I'd call Chrome Hounds a simulator.
@zafy2 Well, you guys can expect to see Kojima's MGS decals in the game now. I have no idea why, but hey. Guess Front Mission may have perked the interest of another game company's cooperation. Either that or it's one hell of a prank.
Either way, hope to see a flock of you friendly pilots. Maybe see some of you in the not so related 40K games coming up too.
1st of all, people give so many Biased 1 sided reviews on this, just because it takes a "New Turn" Im not defending this game or anything, I do have expectations of it, the #1 thing i see people complain about is "its not a SRPG?! its trash!" or something, not ALL Front Mission games use SPRG, this is i think the 3rd game to not use the SRPG format, the 1st Being "Front mission Gunhazard" and the next being "Front Mission: Online" BOTH games the US never got. and both are pretty good games.
@y34r Every Front Mission game except for Front Mission Gun Hazard belongs to canon timeline, that means Front Mission Alternative, Front Mission Online with its one-time only deal story events and now FM Evolved, read something about it.
@LordKellAset yeah i know what you're trying to say, that FM online involved Canon timeline,
I know that SQ-EX try to TPS-tize the game(FM online and server also closed on 2008),and leave SRPG one to be unlocalized (ex,FM5 FM Alt,FM2,but eventually FM fansite made their own translation patch for all unlocalized series)
To the point,is that if they''re trying to TPS-tize the game, they should add it while contain ''whole big'' element of SRPG,
@y34r and at least ,If they're trying to change the game,at least they better do it by themselves , Giving sequal into hand of Double Helix is really a bad choice
@y34r Of all FM games made - Front Mission Gun Hazard is non-canon, only that one, just that I wanted to say before.
About Double Helix, it is not like they are making FM Evolved completely alone, single player scenario and design of wanzers is not by DH for example. Square Enix is working with them rather closely since last TGS09 as it was revealed in interview with Shinji Hashimoto concerning their present collaboration.
@LordKellAset to be fair,FM online was first TPS of FM series but,Was it localized ? I agree that its in canon timeline ,but would it be good? i'm not so sure ,cause we never got a chance to play it,so i still stand at point where il doubt the FM will Evolved-into-crap,comparing to SRPG ones, that it was originally from
For Double Helix part,Shinji Hashimoto may collaborate with them, but final decision still lied in hand of DH ,yes?
@y34r ,not to mention that Online was still very different from what Evolved has become , Online didn't have Third person view shooting, only wanzer view shotting.and it involved alot in RPG element
@y34r SE is publisher, DH was hired, S.Hashimoto is important in SE, should be obvious who is boss.
No idea what You mean but FMO was MMOTPS, not FPS or mmorpg, weapon zoom was optional, there was not that much rpg elements. Some ppl praised it some not but it was all about teamwork, mechanics, jammers, etc. they all had smth to do during match because of their abilities(in FME as weapon upgrades).
Anyway you can hardly compare srpg and shooters. Will FME be any good? will play it will know.
@LordKellAset ,i mean ,sure,FMO was a shooting game, but not involved or took game to FPS style that hard, but you could see from FME,there're missions making you play in TPS like normal shooting game, completely irrelevant to wanzer.
yeah sure,FMO was TPS, but it does contain element of RPG,and MMORPG,(customization, and higher level = more available quest ,also strategy approach FMO took such as took out sniper's point before attack,)
@y34r If FME could contain TPS style ,with strategic aspect gameplay,it may be good
But from what i see,(and believe me ,I really watch most of FME's trailer available on utube),I ddin't see anything strategical about FME, I don't know, may be they didn't show in trailer,Let's hope that I'm wrong.and game still contain strategic gameplay
@y34r Trailers are made to tease, gameplay vids from TGS(single) are about 1 year old, there are also E3 vids(single/multi) but ppl playing on all those vids are random and new to the game, they couldn't show real potential of FME.
In single player it probabl won't be hard to kill enemies no matter what set-up player will use but in multi it was said that teamwork will be important. I can believe that for now, with customization + stuff like anti-missile, repair, EMP backpack available in game.
I like the way of the old front mission series. all of them use turn based strategy to play. an d this one?? it's almost like armored core... no handling mulitple wanzers anymore... T,T
I was so happy to hear that Front Mission was coming to PS3. However, Front Mission Evolved is nothing like I expected. My hope was for another turn-based strategy RPG played more like a chess match - like Front Mission 4 (Final Fantasy Tactics, etc.). Instead, they have appeared to design an inferior version of the computer based game Mech Warrior. This is such a disappointment. Needless to say I won't be buying it until it hits the $10 shelf. I predict this game to be a dud.
Yes it will, Squareenix went to shit after Sakaguchi left and started producing Mistwalker Studios. Lost Odyssey feels more like Final Fantasy than the actual Final Fantasy now..I loved Front Mission, but I hated Armored Core..this is like a slap in the face to the hardcore fans.
ive never heard of the game series front mission :o xD

they took the strategy out of an RTS game and made it a TPS game. Although it does looks good, might give it a try.

@DStahn12 ,yes not all FM game is an SRPG ,because they are called as ''NON-canon timeline''(Spinoff) while the main series remains SRPG
and this crappy shooting Evolved-into-Crap happened to be main storyline
