i had a cockatiel and i tamed it. When i petted him it could stay with eyes closed forever.

i had trained him when i put my hand horizontally to fly to my hand , if i had it in my hand and lowering my hand and point the cage it was flying and get in to its cage, so sweet. But i lost him he went out of the room and i made nervous movements and it got frightened and lost the chance to get it. So good pet .

emmaminiepink--try feeding millet spray with your fingers. You can find it in pet stores. Only give it to your bird if they step up and sit on your finger/hand, and not any other time. This teaches birds that good things come from hands. And the obvious (just to be clear for everyone): don't ever grab, hit, or chase your bird with your hand as this will break trust and ruin all your hard work. Baby steps go a long way. Birds perform best when they think its their idea. Take it slow. Don't rush.

@scuhen45 - I have a similar challenge with Charlie, my White-Winged 'keet and Jasper, my Pineapple Green Cheeked conure. Jasper is younger but bigger and more agressive. Charlie is more sedate. I let them interact under my supervision, and treat both the same. I encourage them to have time together with me nearby. Soon they share my shoulder, but jockey for higher position (see vid on my channel. I let Charlie's wings grow, so he can fly; this gives him confidence. They are becoming good pals.

I didn't, I left my cockatiel perfectly "normal", didn't clip his wings, it's like a human without legs, he gotta fly and have fun a bit, don't deprive him from that pleasure. I leave him out of the cage 100% of the time.
