  • Go Texas!

  • Western doctors need to deal with the fact that your body and mind are all one system. To say otherwise is false. Kind of like saying drugs AND alcohol.

  • Laughed hard. You americans..

  • The only problem with this is that the CDC (Center for Disease Control) still uses the BMI (Body Mass Index) to judge obesity. It is a problem because the BMI was invented by a mathematician and not a doctor. If you ask a doctor they will say that the BMI is full of shit. You should eat, and exercise regularly. And stop worrying about what a mathematician has to say about fat people.

  • @GreenSamurai2 While BMI isnt a good indicator, for this point that is irrelevent.

As BMI hasnt changed over those years, but the amount of people over the limit has risen, it still shows a trend that is a real problem.

Just from looking around daily I see the problem.

Of course we should still eat healthy and excercise often, nobody is disputing that, the problem is so few people get the problem and are doing that.

  • Does anyone notice a pattern in the location of the obese states?

  • @dpas2009

Looks like most of the fat asses are in the south, that figures, you don't have to stay slim and attractive when you're fucking family members I guess.

  • Continued: stay away from fast food for the most part ( maybe once a week)… and work out 3-4 times a week, moderate weight training, 3-4 miles running 3x week…I’m 50, and weigh 7 pounds more than I did in High School, ..it’s not always easy…but…it works..

  • If you don't want to be fat, you don't have to be... period... (99%) there are a very small minority of people who are fat by genetics, but it's very very small, most fat people are fat...because they are undisciplined, lazy, and have a crappy diet, I’ve seen it first hand in my family, among friends, and in our general population, I have a slightly slower metabolism, so I eat lots of vegetables,

  • Opening a health club or a fast food joint would definitely bring in the green. I would also like a chart showing the rest of the world!!

  • Rates have risen hand in hand with corn subsidies. Monsanto's GMO corn is in 85% of ALL processed foods now in some form or another: corn syrup, corn sweetener, corn thickener, corn fed beef, poultry and pork, the list goes on. Monsanto is killing us, killing the bees, killing out planet. Do they care? Nope! They just keep raking in the dough. And we keep eating their lousy food. Demand GMO foods be labeled. Fight Monsanto!

  • @redoleary You got that right. One major problem in the US is too much sitting. We sit all day in a office. What kind of life is that? Sitting is killing us too.

  • Simply remove McDonalds, problem solved.

  • @THEIRISHVL97DIMIR I was in Iceland last summer. They once had a McDonalds but the people simply chose not to go and it closed down. They are a nation without a McDonalds. While there I saw only 2 fat Icelandic people - shows the power of choice and a responsible culture.

  • Scary and sad.
