  • got that same screwdriver, I love mine. I just recently had to replace the planetary gearset in it. Pretty cheap, just $45

  • What are you doing using a razor blade to remove sealant??? Dont you know to use a Plexiglases scraper? If you nick the skin with the blade you cause a stress riser in the skin. Isn't this a pressurized aircraft?

  • Nice plane, nice video, nice work. A true craftsman. Very well done, I am a C421 pilot and found this very useful.

  • that sealent you're mixing @ 04:37, is that 80802? if it is, that shit stinks!

  • awesome video... looks like an expensive job

  • I didn't complete the work order on this beauty, but if I remember correctly, we quoted him a flat rate? Parts and labor... Maybe $2k??? I could find out exactly if you were really interested?

The fun thing is, this plane will be back for XM weather in the next week or so. That should make for a good video depending on what type of coax cable is strung up. Has the potential to be a HUGE PIA. Great for video, bad for me. I don't like ripping up interior on these types of planes.

  • ohh I thought you swapped out the garmin 530's for WAAS enabled ones but I guess if you just did an upgraded the original units its not so bad. Are those Garmin GPS antennas? Looks like the same ones for the avidyne system.

  • The units were already WAAS ready when the plane came into the shop. We just did the antennas so he could enable the system and yes, they came from Garmin. 95% of our customers use Garmin in some form or another.
