I fucking hate you. You just compared Bob Dylan to Short Stack. I know some of the best songs of all time have only 3 chords, the problem here is that the songs short stack write are not good. Short Stacks fanbase is made up of teenage girls, where as Bob Dylan was a folk singer that sang protest songs. His lyrics held meaning and served a larger purpose than "Shimmy Shimmy Go Go".
I'm not saying for even a second that Short Stack is as good as Bob Dylan, they are nowhere even close, i was just making a point. and yeah, their songs dont have as much meaning, or at least as clear a meaning, we dont know why they wrote those songs, and they could have deeper meanings, who knows. But if every song ever made had to be political or have a really really deep meaning, then we would have lost so much great music from all decades.
No thats just it, short stack songs have no important meaning. We do know, there is no deeper meaning. Fact is, lyrical content can be analysed. I challenge you to show me some "great" music from any decade that has no important lyrical meaning and consists of only a few powerchord progressions.

Short Stack sell themselves to teenagers by fitting an image and have no good music to back it up.

Hm, no they probably wouldn't, but then again, most bands wouldn't. Outside of the heavier rock genre (where that look is accepted) most bands have to have a sexual image to sell themselves, thats part of the music revolution and has been happening since the 60s. What about bands like Led Zeppelin, or the Rolling Stones, they all sold themselves with sex, yes they made brilliant music, but without the sexual image they wouldnt have gotten the record deal originally!
The point i'm making is Short Stack do not write good music, they write shitty catchy music and dress a certain way so hormonal teenagers will be sucked in to listening to them. Its not about the music, its about the way they look and act. At least you're right about one thing, they would be making a fuckload of money, sadly, that's what most music is about today.

they suck explain to me how come there were 500 people for a CD signing. In Sydney & Perth People line up for 11 hours to get to the front at their concert. There was a magazine with only short stack in it. Nd i went to 5 different stores to get it. Nd they had all run out in two days. Perth alone. Eventaully i found one. Just because a song has a simple chord progression, doesnt mean its a failure, some of the best songs of all time only have 3 chords, ever heard of bob dylan, highly rated as one of the best song writers of the 20th century, half his songs only have 4 chords. Short Stacks fanbase is made up of teenage girls, where as Bob Dylan was a folk singer that sang protest songs. His lyrics held meaning and served a larger purpose than "Shimmy Shimmy Go Go".

I'm not saying for even a second that Short Stack is as good as Bob Dylan, they are nowhere even close, i was just making a point. and yeah, their songs dont have as much meaning, or at least as clear a meaning, we dont know why they wrote those songs, and they could have deeper meanings, who knows. But if every song ever made had to be political or have a really really deep meaning, then we would have lost so much great music from all decades.

Thats because back in the 60's, what the Beatles were doing was original. What Short Stack are doing is not orginal. Plus, She Loves You was a love song written in the third person. Also, if you think Zeppelin or the Stones wouldn't have got the record deal orginally without sex to sell themselves, you're an idiot. Jimmy Page was in the Yardbirds before Zeppelin, check them out. Short Stack sell themselves to teenagers by fitting an image and have no good music to back it up.

Actually it wasn't, songs about that stuff (lyrically) had been going on for 40 years in the form of jazz, and that music style had existed for about 5 years (roughly the birth of rock). I know the yardbirds, they had a lot of good musicians in them and wrote some brill songs. Zeppelin have heaps and heaps of talent, but show me one singer who wasnt attractive, that sings in a genre where the fanbase is at least partially girls (so bands like zepp, beatles, stones etc., with an ugly singer)

Hm, no they probably wouldn't, but then again, most bands wouldn't. Outside of the heavier rock genre (where that look is accepted) most bands have to have a sexual image to sell themselves, thats part of the music revolution and has been happening since the 60s. What about bands like Led Zeppelin, or the Rolling Stones, they all sold themselves with sex, yes they made brilliant music, but without the sexual image they wouldnt have gotten the record deal originally!

they suck explain to me how come there were 500 people for a CD signing. In Sydney & Perth People line up for 11 hours to get to the front at their concert. There was a magazine with only short stack in it. Nd i went to 5 different stores to get it. Nd they had all run out in two days. Perth alone. Eventaully i found one. And this mag had only bout out for 3 days. Give me a reasonale explanation for that other then. They fix up there voices or Everyone thinks their hot. Okay.?
