  • This is great - hats off to the conductor and players.

  • I've never heard a high school orchestra sound so awesome. Don't get me wrong...I disagree with the interpretation a little bit, but that's totally the conductor's fault. The students are simply amazing. :-)

  • @kbtbatiu Kudos to the community school system that supports such a distinguished public high school music program and praise to each parent who encourages each young artist. In my trumpet playing days over 40 years ago, I was blessed with such parents, now deceased. CHS students--play on. Play on!

  • Beautiful. Masterful. Bravo, ensemble and conductor! This is a high school of the performing arts, yes?

  • @Ragland1952 Carmel High School is not an arts school, a large public high school just north of Indianapolis. Proud to say it's one of the best schools in Indiana!

  • this was my favorite piece to play that year. <3

  • I never grew up appreciating classical music, but it was this piece by MAHLER that got me seriously hooked on classical. Beautifully played.

  • Job well done....

  • This is amazing. I remember i went to a performing arts summer program and i played this peice and it was the first time i ever heard it. It made me cry!lol but it is beautiful that Mahler had all of this music in his head. It is even more beautiful heard live. This video does not do the music justice.....but it is great all the same.

  • Great job!!!

  • Beautiful performance and perfect tempo. Too many orchestras take this as an adagio, and you wind up forgetting to breathe. I actually forgot I was listening to students! Well done!

  • Congratulations, a very moving performance.

  • I am so proud to say that I am apart of this orchestra. There was a special energy up on that stage during this piece and I know everyone felt it. Great job you guys! I love you all! :) -- Katie, 1st violin

  • I just relocated to Carmel from New York City and am so moved by this performance. I will listen to it again and again...Congratulations!

  • Absolutely stunning. Fantastic work, Soo and kids! In 1988, CHS played this for state finals and won that year as well but I don't think it compared to this. So proud to be an alum of this program!
