I'm heading out there in May...I have my HR lic and I drive buses at the moment in Melbourne...But I'm willing to move to Kalgoorlie... I'm going to walk in the office and say I want a job as a dumb truck driver and willing to do what ever it takes....Any advice will be great....Oh and why did you leave for?

Hi, what qaulifications do you need to be able to drive a truck in a mine?

@legalize000 most places will ask for either HR licence, dump trick training course, or both. If you know someone who has a similar job to the one you want your more likely going to get it. and they will possibly train you too. its more about who you know than what you know when it comes to getting this kind of job.

With the invention of such devices like the ipod an operators life has taken on a new kind of exitment, I run a hoe and I always have one of my head phones pluged into one of my ears so I can listen to music all day. I know this practice is not allowed in some places but unitl I am tolled otherwise it sure takes time off my day, great vid by the way, really like.

I really enjoyed this video. I visited tar sands in alberta canada once and i got to see some big dump trucks like you are driving here. I remember getting goosebumps at the sheer size of these massive vehicles. I also went a near by museum that had one inside, that you could get into the seat .. now that was scary and awesome at the same time. HAHA! Its most certaintly awe inspiring!

So about the whole, selling your life thing .. arent you afraid you'll miss it once you sell it? :o

Brought back memories of my "open pit" days here in Nevada. Good video, most people never get to see something like this. City people don't realise how important mining is. We have a saying here, "If it can't be grown, it has to be mined. Without mining, people would be sitting in the dirt with nothing. No phones, no computers, no TV's, no autos, nothing. Everything depends on mining!
