Let me see many did contact Congress and about 80% of Americans were against bail out, so of course Sens and Reps voted for bailout. Why? Because you called instead of showing up in your Congressman's office with a $100 K in your pocket to lobby against bailout. Calling alone does not work.
IF you want to know what started this problem type in the below words in google, it will take you to a New York Times Article from 1999... This is what to type in "Fannie Mae Eases Credit To Aid Mortgage Lending"
anyone who's been around awhile knows that ronnie raygun started the big Deregulation orgy back in 1980 when he Deregulated the Airline Industry. and look at the way that turned out. Flying Sucks!! it used to be pleasant now its a fookin' job. well, along comes georgie and he loves Deregulation too. after all, why wouldn't you trust a wall street capitalist pig who's only goal is to take your money. gotta' love it. Obamb08!!
i'm not saying fannie mae isn't a whore either. she was definitly a contributeor to the problem. but the ROOT of the problem is Deregulation that ronnie raygun started in the 80's. his, and our ReBorglican friends attitude, is that the Government IS the problem (exact quote) and that we should let the markets fix everything. i knew it was horseshit then, and i know it now. we're seeing the results of those criminal wall street hacks who believe they should be left to their own devices..........
it is madness, the profits stay with the banks and their CEOs while the loses are socialized, meaning we the citizen end up paying for their mistakes. do we rescue other private business ventures that drove themselves into the ditch? No - so why should we do so with these banks now, do we have to reward they aimed failure?!! rather just let those people keep their homes then to bail out a private business, but for sure don't pass those banks another dime!
