  • I love it... I practise karate aswell, brown belt, in Romania and I have been 3 times European Champion. Right now, I practise karate for myself, with my sensei Adrian Nedeloiu (3 dan). I don't know how much of you know him, but he is a champion... I practise Shotokan & Fudokan

  • great

  • who sings and the name of the song, sounds great!!!

  • @pisosibarra in vietnamese it is XE DAP( bike)

im wondering this is vn or jp song!?!

  • He's the best, he's our master

  • song?

  • my master meitty.kaseger indonesia

  • my master better grand master shalom lubin he proved that in 1984 in united kingdom in front 200 fighters he shoked the world

  • @TheWolfjr That's a stupid question, because two masters of those arts would not fight each other. Budo (martial arts) means "to end fighting," therefore the one who struck first would lose. Martial arts is designed to stop conflict, not create it.

  • Tai Chi + Karate > either by itself.

And I love Sensei Kanazawa's old Spock haircut. :3

  • I had my black belt today! During my kata, I tought to Kanazawa! Osu senseï!!

  • @maverick77340 Congratulations!!

  • "The legend of Shotokan Karate Master"

  • how old was he when he started karate?

  • @acerwk Ok. So the Shotokan practitioners that can knock a guy out in the blink of an eye with one punch are little kids playing around? Interesting.

  • @Yamtendo shotokan doesnt have drills against low kicks with the shin, hook punches or takedowns (as grapplers attack)only stupid ippon/gohon kumite.defenses against only oi tsuki/gyaku tsuki.in other words shit!shotokan a gay art

  • @acerwk Why are you canvassing Shotokan videos and regurgitating this innane rhetoric? If you knew anything about Shotokan you would know that there are solutions within the art to everything you say it hasn't got. How about spending some time training in a martial art rather than professing your knowledge of them. You are such a loser man

  • @PnutButter1986 you are the loser and the stupid if you think that gay shotokan is good.its shit.period!

  • @acerwk You are so lost my friend, I feel sorry for you

  • @PnutButter1986 I feel sorry for you who thinks this gay dance without low kicks with the shin, takedowns and hook punches but only attacks and defenses against oi tsuki and thats it is a martial art.its shit

  • @acerwk I'm not sure where you've been learning Karate but you have a very poor amount of knowledge on the subject. In my dojo alone we practice a vast range of sparring attacks and defences. If its so limited then why is it one of the staple diets of so many mma fighters? Again I repeat you should focus on improving your own game rather than trying to burn others... Its not Shotokan's fault if you went to a few shit dojos, of which there are for any art. Just find a good dojo and be well bro

  • thank you for your teachings sensei - OSU!!

  • can someone confirm sensei EDNA LIMA on that video please....

    thanks

  • Amazingggg!! mi instructors are very lucky they met him, trained with him and got his autograph :OO very VERY lucky people

  • Osu, Shihan Kanazawa!

  • He is a great master, and appears in this video also: /watch?v=PZ24Xkrj7sY

  • Unacceptable music but a great tribute to a great man.

  • @mehle3 Do you know why Karate-do was created in the first place? It was because king Sho Shin in the 15th century had to try to prevent rebellion by removing all weapons. So the people had to use themselves as weapons, thus, karate was born of several different types of Te, in 1935. The point is defence, and the ability to knock down any foe, not simply to learn kata, as you seem to think, because all kata have a use, for defence against an opponent.

  • @bigboredthing Karate is quite different from western arts and sport arts such as Mauy Thai that have only a few techniques. Karate has dozens and each can have multiple applications. Therefore, kata represents an encyclopedia of techniques in a particular style. If it were not for kata, these techniques and all of their applications and combinations would have to be learned from pictures in books! That would be impossible to learn from and much info would be lost over the generations.

  • @osensei2987 Yes! That's so true. It blows my mind how Karate itself is a type of "MMA" (mixed martial arts), because of it's variety of joint locks, strikes, and throws.

But a correction: Muay Thai might be considered a sport now, but it's roots are just as authentic and traditional as Karate's. It's one of the deadliest martial arts around. A proficient Muay Thai fighter can break the femur bone in one kick.

  • Beautiful video and a wonderful tribute to a great Martial Artist.

There are many great Karate Sensei but only one Kanazawa Kancho...

When they made him...they broke the mold. It's men of his caliber that makes me proud that I am blessed to train Shotokan.

    Osu...

  • i went to crystal palace all england championships in 1967 i was a wado ryu karateka at the time and a demonstration was put on by tatsuo suzuki sensei with his asistants kono, mochuzuki, takamazawa, shoimitsu.... but wheni saw kanazawa and enoeda senseis demo i was converted to shotokan instantly... and still am to this day

  • @salstream you are very lucky i am a red belt and i wish that one day i can go to japan and train with the Japanese

  • @salstream you are very lucky i am a red belt and i wish that one day i can go to japan and train with the Japanese what association are you in?

  • @salstream He is an extraordinary martial artist!

  • Thanks for sharing and what a great personal touch.

Sensei Kanzawa & Sensei Enoeda are my two most inspiring Legands.

They are perfect role models and I suppose they always will.

  • kanazawa rocks

  • TO THOSE ARGUING ABOUT KARATE VS TAI CHI...

both are used for defense having been proven to work by the fact that they are still practised to this day and both are arts and NO style is inferior, only the practitioner

Also, while i personally believe in chi, its existence is very hard to define and even harder to control and master so instead of TALKING about removing someone's chi, work on your own martial abilities and stop wasting your training time on youtube!

  • @dasburzum karate vs any style .this is not question what style but about fighter.if u are on the level of bruce lee you can use one punch be it karate, taichi, boxing or whatever and still knock out people, but if u are beginner no style cant be effective.so all depends on the level u are.leave the styles and see the fighters:)

  • @supralee I think you're right.

  • @dasburzum The most sensible thing I've ever read on youtube.

  • @tuitejitsu Right? Blows my mind:)

  • @dasburzum You are absolutely right. Division amongst martial artists is a greater crime than whether or not you do Tai Chi, Karate, or both. Martial arts is here to help us, not turn us into rambling idiots that spend our time proving who is superior. I think Kanazawa would agree!

  • more than sensei he is a shisho

  • @Adgang123 If I remove your Qi you will DIE in HALF A SECOND. A skilled Chinese doctor can tell you how long you have to live depending on the lack of Qi in certain regions whether it be days or weeks and they're always right if skilled enough. Anyone who argues against Qi is either a fool, lazy or ignorant. This is proven by the Chinese and I suggest you bring your Karate junk and I'll bring a master of Dim Mak and lets see who wins with the most minor of strikes. I did lame Karate.

  • @anunnaki2006 I would gladly personally challenge a master of Dim Mak, it would be an honor, and a disgrace to them if he lost. Since I haven't mastered my style of karate yet. But well well, I'll then have to accept that I am a fool, lazy and ignorant. And maybe you just weren't instructed by a good enough instructor, have you ever tried different countries, almost every country have their own way of each style and martial art.

  • @Adgang123 You sound like a 15 year old which is usually those who would do Karate or those about to leave Karate after their parents forced them into it from the age of 10. Tai Chi is a lifestyle and the greatest martial art in existence. Karate is useless, clumsy and inferior. I like 'IF HE LOST' my friend one touch from a Dim Mak master and you're dead you fool. Do not bother me anymore with your childish actions and lacking wisdom. Your perfect for infantile Karate.

  • @anunnaki2006 Wooaw, you just have to be one of those wise guys huh? Well you're right with one think, I am 15, and I was forced to start, but at the age of 12. And I don't limit myself to one style, as I have explained before. And I wrote "if he lost" because well, I have only studied martial arts for 3 years, and a master would have been studying for many more. But what good will qi/ki/chi strikes do if you can't hit your target? Ever thought of that?

  • @anunnaki2006 and do you know what, you sound like a teenager too! One of those ignorant ones, who only believes in what their master tells them, and nothing else. I'm sick of people like you(those), open the mind up for changes.

  • @Adgang123 First of all I'm in excess of thirty years of age. I'd also practiced Karate for five years gaining my 1st Dan Black Belt (whoopi do) in four years. I was trained by a high level celebrity bodyguard who I will not name and who's organisation had many an England team member. I also followed closely the work of Frank Brennan of the KUGB. I was the only member in our organisation who could have jumped from 1st to 2nd Dan if it had been allowed which it wasn't. Karate is inferior!

  • @Adgang123 It's true. My school trains very hard, and when one of my best friends trained in a particular country in Europe that will remain unnamed, he said

"all they did was spar, and threw in a kata at the end. They weren't good at all."

Any martial art requires a good teacher! To quote the famous fictional character,

    Mr. Miyagi,

"No such thing as bad student. Only bad teacher." <- truth (with a grain of salt perhaps)

  • @Yamtendo I'm from the UK and I am lucky to be in a dojo which is not sport orientated (heavy sparring emphasis). We spend countless hours on kihon and kata too. Karate can be compared with a pyramid - Without the individual blocks properly formed (kihon and kata) the whole thing will be weak (kumite)

  • @PnutButter1986 search all the federations of shotokan.jka skif kase ha whatever.search the syllabus.they dont have drills against low kicks with the shin, hook punches, takedowns.only stupid ipon gohon gainst ONLY OI TSUKI.searh again the attacks.the dont use hook punches or low kicks only oi-tsuki/gyaku tsuki/uraken.thats it.shotokan is shit all onev the world!

  • @acerwk Your foul mouth shall at least know some respect for such a respected art that you've been discrediting. Oh, and just so you know, martial arts were supposedly created from human beings killing each other, so no style that survived 'till today can't provide the adept with effective techniques to protect himself against many menaces. One such example is in this video.

  • @ArcaneSunset shotokan is just a sport!thats why its survived till today.just like football,basketball etc.stupid faggot

  • @acerwk Amazing.

I can see your ignorance from my window and I live in fucking Italy, man.

It's that or you're just the biggest troll there is D:

  • @ArcaneSunset blah blah blah.shotokan is shit you like it or not!Cambia stilo amico!Se vuoi karate perche non studia uechi ryu, kyokushin.shidokan?

  • @acerwk non sai parlare italiano, quindi evitiamo, per quanto apprezzi lo sforzo...

btw, I still think you're missing a point there. Martial arts are not just techniques mixed up to make a style look "functional". It's about knowing the opponent, knowing the enviroment, imposing styles, psychological warfare, feigning... behind a technique there lies an opponent. That's the real thing I think that you should be aware of when you are fighting and that's why there is no "shit style".

  • Comment removed

  • @acerwk Recieved the mail about your reply, but can't find it.

Anyway, about those techniques you're talking about:

    1) Karate is a striking martial art, of course there are no takedowns. That doesn't mean you can't karate-chop anyone trying to come too near yout tummy. Believe me, a karate chop on the neck is not so pretty.

    2) a hook punch is called Mawashi Tsuki in Karate and I believe, even if I'm not so sure, it can be countered with a nice Tate Empi Uchi.

  • @acerwk

    3) as for the low kicks with the shins, even if I don't talk about the many evasion techniques for legs (look the Tekki Shodan kata for a demonstration), I'm pretty sure there are countless counterattacks to impose your distance on your opponent BEFORE he even gets that close. Karate it's not Muay Thai and it's not Judo, even if there are a few techniques ment to trip your opponent over and ground-and-pund him at ease.

  • @ArcaneSunset 1) shidokan and many other styles of karate expect ofcourse gay shotokan do have takedowns.

2)kyokushin,shidokan,wado and many other styles expect again gay shotokan do have mawashi tsuki in their official syllabus.

3)uechi ryu.kyokushn, shidokan and many other styles expect AGAIN gay shotokan do have low kicks in syllabus and in drills.bottom line karate its great, shotokan is shit!

  • @acerwk just because it doesn't have any "cool techniques"? Man, you're really entertaining me with such nonsense!

It's the same thing again: if you think that techniques is what makes a martial art, you've chosen the wrong approach. Maybe Shotokan masters in modern times CHOSE not to use those techniques, because it's disadvantageous for them, never thought about that? Applications of a whole style aren't something you put in a syllabus.

  • @ArcaneSunset no cool techniques.practical techniques!and not only oi tsuki/gyaku tsuki.im sorry but shotokan its just a gay dance...sport for little kids.why dont you try shidokan kyokushin or uechi ryu?

  • @acerwk that's where your ignorance about Shotokan is showing. I don't think that it lacks technique. When I practised, we had drills against elbow strikes, sword strikes, grabbing techniques, all type of kicks and so on. Look at the bunkais for katas, even the basic ones can prove your statement wrong. Either you've gone to a bad dojo or you've done just the yellow belt and got fed up. If it's the latter, then you shouldn't talk like you know what you're saying.

  • @ArcaneSunset Great for you to add drills FROM OTHER STYLES but sorry it is not.shotokan you like it or not.and btw take a look on shotokan bunkai kanazawa, tanaka, nishiyama, nakayama.there are many videos here.you see what they show?defenses against oi tsuki!!!thats shotokan bunkai.just shit!

  • @anunnaki2006 The Chinese have proven nothing, as far as I know.

"Screenshot or didn't happen." Not to say I don't believe you, but for you to so confidently boast that Chi is a scientific fact is about as stupid as fighting a master of ANY martial art.

  • Karate is a way of life and the japanese are great people

  • @Diclonius02 Japanese have a heart of stone just ask any Chinese and they'll tell you how brutal minded this race really is. Now if the Chinese know this then imagine it when you know how brutal the Chinese race can actually be. Maybe you should have been in WW2 and lets see if you would like them then. Merely lackies of Rome and its agent, David Rockefeller.

  • Karate and the Japanese are backward and well beyond the Chinese peoples in every sense. This is why the Japanese always try to flex around the Chinese as they know Japanese are inferior to the Chinese. Who copied Chinese Dim Mak in their military when they feared the Western Americans? Yes the heartless Japanese and their natural resource less nation. I did Karate but Tai Chi is far superior including the diet system and mind frame. Karate is just sport nothing more, Tai Chi is LIFE.

  • @anunnaki2006 You really speak a load of crap you know that. You say you did karate but it's "just a sport". You never really did karate then. And then you talk about an entire nation being inferior to another because of the techniques they developed? You obviously know nothing about Tai Chi either then.

  • @Metallirocks Karate is inferior to Chinese Martial Arts. Japan is inferior to China. Japanese are inferior to Chinese. These are just facts we have to admit whether one likes it or not. If anyone wants to learn martial arts they must learn Tai Chi and eventually go beyond your master or you wishing to be master, this is mere status and ego driven levels. Martial Arts is about changing the being and altering the mind. We need no hard Shotokan techniques, we simply need Tai Chi.

  • @anunnaki2006 I don't have any Tai Chi experience but of what I have seen and read about, then Tai Chi uses slow motions, and no strength. So I don't really think that Tai Chi is capable of teaching you self-defense nor attacks. Well, maybe the ideas are right, but what would you do in a situation where your pulse is 130 and you only have those "weak" movements in your body? You're body will rely on strength at some point, and then Tai Chi would be useless, that's when the karate steps in ;)

  • @Adgang123 This shows your lack of knowledge of Tai Chi which is in fact the most advanced form of martial arts in the World. If perfected correctly you need not powerful wasteful strikes and merely to just manipulate Qi which controls everything on Earth. Do you think Oxygen is the most important substance for life? You'd go about 2-3 minutes without it right? Well you'd last at max half a second without Qi! Forget Karate its inferior especially long stance shotokans etc, now thats too slow

  • Oss sensei kanazawa!

    god bless u!

  • Oss!

  • @mehle3

well, if this is not martial arts, tell us, enlightens us than, what a true martial art is?

maybe mma? may be box? hm, dont wanna be rude, but all the occidental fighting staff derives from china and japan and other east asian countries... kick boxing, mma, itd itd...it all came from karate, kung fu, muay thai etc etc. those are the real martial roots :)) even the so popular brasilian jiu jitsu was developed from old school japanese jiu jitsu which encompassed karate, judo, etc.

  • @Ulikses just telling everybody martial arts did not come from asia..to china it came from india..to india it came from alexander macedonia to alexander it came from grecee where always was pancration gladiators fight.. chinese kunfg fu and japanese traditional karate is jst fuckin discusting copy of martial arts...fucking fake
