  • I love this song. My dad gave it to me when I was 3 weeks old, he passed away and it brings tears to my eyes everything I hear it.

  • @jimothy1337 It really is a beautiful song. It brings back memories for so many people. I'm so glad you like it. :)

  • @jimothy1337 My dad gave it to me, too, and he passed away several years ago. I can't listen to it now without crying.

  • Every once in a while, an absolute gem of a song surfaces, which then becomes a hall-mark classic rock-music icon which stays in one's mind as an all-time test-of-test GREAT time-piece. And so it is with this song ! The unique combination of Don Mudie, Brian Cadd, and of course he-with-the-cut-above-voice, Glenn Shorrock, combined in a snap-shot-in-time manner, to compose & produce this wonderful song. Great graphics, sainter1 .. you capture all that is best in life with this posting. 5 * !!

  • this song means alot to our family!!!! After my dad died in April of this year we found out that my sister was pregnant, it was a light at the end of a very dark time, My sister gave birth on 17 Sept 08 to a beautiful little girl but the devistating things was that she was still born and our 'little ray of sunshine' had gone out!!!!

  • Hi Hope, i'm so sorry to hear this. It must have been a tough time for you. I hope the beauty of the song helps in some way to lighten those dark times each time you hear it.

    Wayne

  • Thx, Blosom, it's a fellow Aussie who posted it. :)

I tried to keep away from schmaltz (i'm allergic to it) while leaving the heart intact. I made it in the middle of the night after waking up with the song in my head.

  • my daughter is nearly 18.shes been in the uk for 9weeks.when i miss her i send this.drives her mad..thank god she'll b home 4 halloween..

  • :) That's so nice to hear that she'll be home soon, and of course this won't drive her mad anymore lol. Thx for watching and leaving such a nice comment.

    Wayne :)

  • This song has a great significance for me.

My daughter was 6 months old when I first saw her.

We were together for some twenty years.

Now she has married and found her biological father.

She always replied "No, you are my dad"

    Now! I do not exist.

"Rachael, you will always be my daughter and my little ray of sunshine".

  • A great song. But this clip started with babies, and quickly moved into kittens, puppies and piglets. Atleast the latter are edible. The former will require an appropriate sauce.

  • I have 2 x daughters and I love listening to this song and thinking of how much joy they bring to the world!!!!

  • It's a beautiful song isn't it?...and really expresses such joy and love.

Thx so much for watching and commenting.

    Wayne

  • What a great video! *smiles* Are any of these pictures of your little one(s)? Such cute little babies & baby animals. My little ones LOVED watching this video! Thanks for sharing! :)

Maurice got it right, that's for sure. :D

  • Simply beautiful! :) :) :)

  • As the father of two girls (ages 5 and 6) they are indeed my sunshine. I was once a "love at first sight" skeptic. I am not anymore. The rush of emotion that rushed through my body the moment I laid eyes on them was truly love at first sight. One might even say "it hurt so good."

    Cheers!

  • A greater feeling could hardly exist David. When something so precious touches the core of the heart we are helpless; love at first sight exists for sure.

Good to hear from you mate!

    Your vassal in awe.

  • Ahhhh....Boy, this was great Wayne!! Children are so special. This grandma gets to babysit her set of twins that are 2 and her 4 year old grand daughter!...Thanks for the smile,...I m ready to see them now!! :) (HUGS))

  • What a lovely comment :) I'm happy that it gave you the smilies.

btw, I meant to reply to your stickam comment: I was testing a webcam- I wasn't on for long. I had one person come into the room but said nothing lol. I didn't change the settings to private so I dont know why you couldn't enter my room. I would have loved to have chatted with you. It's always great to hear from you. :)

  • Is there any certain time that you are ever on there?....I actually got brave enough, and have a CAM now!...lol Only took me a year and a half to trust these freaks that I now call loving and kind friends!..haha Take care! ((HUGS)) The Bree! ;)

  • Weekends only Bree and only occasionally. Also the time difference makes it difficult. Hey, if you've got a cam though i'll make sure I keep an eye out for you. That's a promise (( HUGS BACK))

  • hehe...and I will watch for you!...Be well! :)

  • this is lovely :)

  • Thx Angie, and so are you. :)

  • Yep, this earned a thank you comment. I'm glad Minniver sent me this way, because I needed to smile too. That wrinkly foot was precious. Peace!

  • Thx for the thankyou Lyserge. We can all do with a smile on the dial, as often as possible imo. That wrinkly foot is a few ppls favourite.

    Peace to you.

  • The day my firstborn daughter arrived, I went to the car to drive home and tell the family. When I turned on the car the radio played this sing first up.

  • For me, it's been "her song"ever since and still brings a tear to the eye over 20 years later.

  • Thats a beautiful story Geoff. I'm happy that this vid brought back such precious thoughts for you. I have loved this song since I first heard it way back in the early seventies.

    Cheers mate

    Wayne

  • P.S. this video makes me feel proud of being a woman. :)

  • I'm proud that you are proud, and you have much to be proud of. *wink*

  • Are you flirting with me? LOL

  • Does a second *wink* answer it? lol

  • Wayne, this is so beautiful. Your editing was perfect, not bad as you say. Your tribute to ladies in such a kind, sweet way, is refreshing and uplifting. I like the pig with the little smudge on her nose. :)

  • Aye, the piggy is my favourite pic too.

I'm glad you like it River Birchy girl; it sprang to mind in a waking vision, you know? :)

  • You always bring hope, Saint. Without it we couldn't exist. Thank you for helpiing us to feel that hope, that sunshine :)

  • You are welcome, Liz. I'm pleased that you feel this way about it.

    Thx for watching. ;)

  • What's that line? "butterfllies and little girls need no excuses?"

What a sweet video, MW. Is there some special little girl that brought it to mind?

  • I have heard that line..a nursery rhyme?

No, there was no special "little" girl in mind. I think you are all pretty special, the big girls and little girls. :)

  • Robert A. Heinelin, in the guise of Lazarus Long, I think.

This (big) girl thanks you for the tribute. :)

  • Ahhh of Red Planet fame, thx for filling me in.

You are very welcome (big) girl. :)

  • This is just beautiful, our one sainter:) How did you know I needed a smile today?

  • hmm I guess we all need one from time to time, in fact, why not every day? :)

Thx for watching Deb, and sharing it.

  • I've wanted a little girl since my niece Abby was born...adorable images Sainter! I especially liked the picture of the father watching his baby sleeping! Cheery song too! :) 5 big ones!

  • Thx Sherry (baby) I woke up in the middle of the night with the tune in my head; I thought "hey, why not put some images to it?"

I dont have kids but if I did, a little girl would be wonderful. The song is an old Aussie pop classic. Thx for the stars.:)
