I watched the video of Shirley Shirrod and the NAACP, and I laughed when the crowd laughed, and I'm white. The reason I thought it was funny is because having worked in the service industry, I've also been in the position to decide how much help to give someone. When they are trying to act superior to you, it definitely doesn't encourage you to go above and beyond. In fact, Shirley eventually did go above and beyond for this guy.

She went on to say that she changed her feeling that it was about rich vs poor and not black vs white. Breitbarts point was that her early racist feelings were approved of by the NAACP audience who applauded. @tristanmayfield I've been to many large Tea Pary rallies and NEVER once saw these things. I don't think calling Obama's place of birth is racist as an issue in the way you presented it. I've seen video of photo shopped signs. I pointed it out on a YT comment board and was attacked by 4 or 5 people. After I showed them proof it didn't make a bit of difference. @tristanmayfield I've been to many large Tea Pary rallies and NEVER once saw these things. I don't think calling Obama's place of birth is racist as an issue in the way you presented it. I've seen video of photo shopped signs. I pointed it out on a YT comment board and was attacked by 4 or 5 people. After I showed them proof it didn't make a bit of difference. I give you credit for using the Tea Party name instead of the favored teabagger that I see so much.

@milesy49: He didn't doctor the video in ANY way. He took the clip out of context, & truncated the part where she talks about what happened after she took the farmer to "one of his own kind." But that's not doctoring video in the least.
Nor was it deceptive editing, because Breitbart released the tape to show the crowd's reaction to the story, so the rest of the story wasn't relevant only the portion about her discriminating against the white farmer.

@bsphenom Yes! I did. That first night O'reilly gave it 20 seconds. The followiing night he gave it considerable discussion - in it's full context. Beck didn't run it until it had been debunked & he commended Shirrod. Same with Special Report. Same with Shep Smith. Fox has given more time to the positive side of this story - actually reviving her reputation - than any other network.
The NAAPC ?? They did the exact same thing that O'reilly did - EXACT! And the WH fired her.

Sherrod begged her bosses to watch the entire tape and that what they saw was out of context. They willfully ignored her, this story would have quickly faded away if not for their reaction.
